Love can hurt. This is the 8th book in the Dare To Love series. This book can be read as a standalone. The reading of the books, in order, adds to the enjoyment and understanding of the series. Max Savage and Lucy Dare have known each other for years. Lucy does not want a fling, but that has not stopped her from lusting after him. Her feelings have been put on hold, since she does not want to be with someone who could hurt her again. Max has been in love with Lucy as long as he can remember. He has avoided chasing after her, since he is good friends with her brothers. He does not want to risk all that he has with the Dare family. When they give him the green light to go after her, he decides that winner takes all. They are so good together, even though they both have secrets from the past that are needing to be communicated. The banter is good, the sexy times are hot, and the story is just a genuine good love story! This is a definite keeper for my shelf!! ***This ARC has been given in exchange for an honest review.

Dare series my new favorites!!!. I love this series. Especially the hotter ones with Gabe Decklan and Max!! The author writes such hot love stories with the new light bdsm. Not the mean beating demeaning kind. Just enough of the alpha dominant but loving sexy kind guy. I'm hooked on this series. I own them all! And have preordered the next one.

Overall another great addition to the Dare series!. I just adore Carly Phillips' Dare series. Ian and Gabe have been my favorites. Well, I think Max Savage is giving them a run for their money! His name alone exudes sex! Max has longed for little Lucy Dare ever since she had come home from college. Unfortunately, Max figured Lucy's brothers, Gabe and Decklan would have a huge problem with him wanting to be with Lucy so he never pursued anything. Over the next few years, Lucy moved to California for work, while Max ended up marrying Cindy, who was killed in a car accident 4 years later. Neither of them were very happy. Now that Lucy is back in town for Decklan's wedding, Max finally gets her brother's blessing and he decides to make his move. He doesn't care if she brought some guy with her from California. I loved the way Max kept working on Lucy to convince her that he really had feelings for her and wasn't just looking for sex. I just adored how sweet and thoughtful he was, while at the same time being a typical cocky, alpha male! Their time on the island of Eden was wonderful and sexy...really sexy! ;) I enjoyed how they worked together to open up a new restaurant Savage in Soho (great name), and really enjoyed the character of Sabastian, the chef he hired. He was a hoot! Too bad he isn't a Dare...I bet he'd have a great story! Overall another great addition to the Dare series!

Max has loved Lucy for years. At first, he thought she was too young. Then she moved to California and Max, in an attempt to protect his heart, married someone else. Lucy, also protecting her heart after the loss of her parents, engages in relationships where she knows she won't love the person she is with. When Lucy comes back to NY for her brothers engagement party, Max sees her with Lucas and knows he has to put a stop to this. He finally kisses Lucy and she realizes this is her chance with Max. Join Max and Lucy as they figure out if they can open their hearts to love again!

Awesomely seduced. Lucy is the little sister of Gabe and Decklan Dare. Max is their best friend who has always been in love with Lucy but never wanted to ruin his friendship with the Dare brothers. When she shows up with a guy that no one likes, Max makes a play for her. Will it be too late, will he risk his friendship. Can they'd work through their pasts. Lucy and Max have great love,friendship, and chemistry. Carly Phillips has again makes you love her characters. She has again intertwined many of the Characters from her other books in this series into this book yet this is a standalone book.

A superb addition to an amazing series!!!. Fantastic story about Max Savage and Lucy Dare. Max is a childhood friend of Gabe, Declan and Lucy Dare, of the New York Dares. Max finally gets the approval of her brothers and moves full speed ahead to win Lucy's heart. Is it too late? Are the changes he sees in her permanent or can he seduce the wild and free out of her? His marriage to Cindy crushed her! I can almost feel Lucy's pain and hesitation over Max's sudden attention. It breaks my heart that because of life's tragedies, they've wasted so many years. I love that Max wants her so much and has the patience to wait it out. This is a great addition to the Dare to Love series. Carly Phillips has done it again! I can't wait for the next one. Really good. This romance is between two people who have had great losses in their pasts and how it has affected them in their relationships. Max and Lucy compliment each other in and out of the bedroom but, fear of emotional pain when there are no guarantees stand in their way for a happy ending.
