Justice for Mackenzie. I enjoyed the story, but can someone write a book where the female lead doesn’t fall in bed with the when they first meet? Or discuss all the things they want to do to each other? Too much foul language also. Story could have been great with a slow buildup between the two

Amazing!. I was excited from beginning to end. Daxton was so hot. Mack was so cute. They made a great pair. The story will keep you glued. On to the next for me.

Horrible language. Good story content but horrible language!!! You can write a good book without all that language!!! Will NEVER read another one of these books

Review. Usually the first book of Susan Stoker’s series are always great, however, this book fell short. It is not one I would want to read again, nor will I be purchasing others in the series. There is one thing I really don’t understand about this author. In everyone of her books, the female lead ALWAYS has a low self esteem. She always states how plain, how invisible, how short, how overweight, etc. that she is. She doesn’t understand how a hot guy could be into her. You DON’T have to be a supermodel to have a good self esteem! You need to love who you are before someone else will love you. The books would be more enjoyable if the female lead didn’t put herself down all the time. In this book, in addition to the female lead, Mack, putting herself down, the author made the Mack so awkward, it was really hard to read. Mack seemed more of a caricature than a person. Mack just rambled on and on and on and on and on and on about anything and everything. The suspense part of the storyline was well written, however, the way the Mack was written, ruined the book.

Reading again. This was an amazing story with some psychological stuff in it. The focus is on the leads, Daxton and Mackenzie! But the story is full of twists and turns, intrigue, suspense, and hot chemistry. A fabulous book and the start of a new series.

Good Read!. I enjoyed this book. The author has a funny sense of humor and it is reflective in the dialogue in this book.

Susan Stoker does NOT disappoint!!. I started this series thinking that it could not be as interesting as the SEALs series but would give it a try. I just finished downloading the next book! I LOVE her books. I have enjoyed every one of her books. Do yourself a favor and just try one of her books...then you'll see what I mean!!!

This book had me laughing hysterically at point then on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happened next! If I could have given this story more than 5 stars I would have! This book was AWESOME and I can't wait to read more from Ms. Stoker!!

Real people!. Finally - realistic characters who aren’t perfect, flawless or zillionaires. Just honest people with their own issues and insecurities hoping for something better…and resigned to the reality it probably won’t happen. Well written and very relatable!

Change of pace. I would love to give it 5 stars and I would have if not for the language and some over the top sex dialogue. Susan Stoker does a very good job at getting you to like her characters and the plot is there. I also like that you had no clue who the serial killer was until the end the story was about Mack and Dax. I would recommend it to my friends but not my mother😉

A Great Beginning. I’ve enjoyed several of this author’s series and I’m already enjoying this one. Dax is a dedicated Texas Ranger. At 46, he’s married to his job. He’s never met a woman who he’s ever considered being really serious with. Until he crosses paths with Mack. At 37, Mack, or Mackenzie, is a quirky, single professional working for a non-profit. Part of her job is organizing the kids talent show for a fundraiser related to law enforcement agencies. When she has a chance meeting with Dax, he leaves a definite impression. An almost speeding ticket later, their paths cross again. These two characters are interesting and their chemistry is amazing. Throw in a serial killer on the loose determined to taunt Dax and two of his fellow law enforcement officer friends, and you have a suspenseful and intense romance.

Great characters and storyline!. Loved the book! Language was a bit over the top so that detracted a bit for me! However, the story and characters are great! Be prepared to hang onto your seat at the ending.

Perfect Story. Perfect book, romance, action, fast paced, but easy to read. It is rare when one book can make you laugh and make you cry. Beautiful story!

I couldn’t finish it.. I couldn’t finish the book because I just got tired of Mackenzie. the author had a good start, good spelling, and all of that. However, the main character, Mackenzie, was kind of annoying. At soe point I think there were 2 pages of pure rambling. And Daxton, her love interest, would just keep saying how cute she was. But this is a 37 year old woman, and he is 46, so I am just wondering why such a grown woman is acting like a silly teenager.

Justice for Mackenzie. LOVED IT! Loved it! Loved it! You almost got me to reach for the tissue box as Dax watched the remote screen. Then Cruz called. Thank you for providing a good read and thorough editing. As a senior, I've come to accept modern vernacular and rather enjoy the "naughty" sex scenes. But my pet peeves remain improper grammar in text and abundant errors that are blatant when some authors only rely on spellcheck to proofread. Thanks for respecting your readers by not doing either one. Kudos

Suspense and Romance. Thoroughly enjoyed this book and audio. The intensity and suspense had me totally enthralled. Recommended.

Justice for Mackenzie. Excellent book that you will find hard not to read all in one sitting. Again this author has produced a well written and engaging story. Checking out the other books in this series is a must!

Daxton & MacKenzie. Now here’s a ‘keep you on the edge of your seat’ suspense story in finding out who the Lone Star Reaper killer is! I really enjoyed their ages in this story - Dax is 46 and Mack is 37. A nice change from the romance books that seem to center around younger couples. MacKenzie’s babbling can be a bit much when she goes off on wild tangents that I occasionally found annoying.
