I loved it!. I received a copy of Magic Binds via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. I have read all of the main stories in the Kate Daniels series, but I have not read all of the novellas that accompany it. I felt in Magic Binds, that I was missing a few key pieces of the story. It was probably because I hadn’t read those novella’s, that or the fact I read so many books I don’t remember ever detail of this series. One character that I completely didn’t remember was Teddy Jo. All it did though, was make me want to go back and start from the beginning. Re-read the entire series and not skip the novellas. I still might do that. Kate and Curran are finally planning their wedding. They have been given news by the Oracles that if they get married, Kate’s father Roland, will lay siege to the city and kill Curran. Any way the Oracle sees the future is bad. But Kate being Kate doesn’t lie down and take that news. Oh no! She is going to change her fate no matter if it kills her in the process. As the savior of the city and the protector of all that are within its boundaries it is up to her to keep it safe. But she won’t do it alone. Help comes from a place that is so unlikely that I never dreamed of in a million years. In Magic Binds, friendship and loyalties are tested. Love and hatred are blurred. There is so much action you just have to hang on and enjoy the ride. I think it would be interesting to be a fly on the wall, when these authors are planning out these stories. They are just so brilliantly detailed, vivid and complex that it is an utter joy to immerse myself in their world for the few hours each book takes. At the same time I am always left wanting more....Sara

Perfect set-up!. Magic Binds is a fantastic story packed with action, friendship, betrayal, a lot of knowledge revelation/ transfer, & a bit of intimacy. The authors did a wonderful job with the storyline from beginning to end and the ending sets the next story up nicely.

Must Read. The book is a great addition to the series. I really love this series not because of the magic, shifters or vampires but because of the characters and their relationships. I also love having such a strong female heroine. The characters are very human they are not perfect, they make bad and good choices. I would recommend this series to anyone. The root of this story to me was family and the choices they make that affect you. Where do you draw the line in the sand? Now that I am done, I think I am going to reread the series! If you haven't read Anything by Ilona Andrews, start you will not be disappointed.

Family, Friends and More. I would give this book 10 stars! Awesome story! Kate and Curren will go through a lot to save Atlanta. The story has lots of action, romance and the humor is the best! You will laugh and cry but be amazed with all going on in this book! The twists to this story will keep you reading until the end and the ending is awesome! I love this series and hope there is another book! I highly recommend this excellent book! Julie will give you surprises and Christopher will amaze you! Read!!!

KD is back!. While 7 and 8 weren’t bad, 9 is the Kate Daniels I just love. So good! Fulfilling yet leaves you wanting more. Bought 10 immediately.

Well worth the wait!. I love how the authors created a fascinating touchable world that draws you in, and characters that tug every conceivable emotion from you. Rare to find a single book that I want to read over and over, but I have read all of the Kate Daniels series multiple times. Please keep them coming!

Highly Recommend. The Kate Daniels series is like book crack to me. As soon as I start the book, I don't want to put it down until I’m finished, and then I have to wait and entire year for my next fix. One would think I'd learn from my annual wait, but no I haven't since I got caught up on the series last year. Yep, I read the first 8 books in one year and now must wait each year like everyone else for my next fix. I really liked Magic Binds. We were given all the action and adventure I've come to love from the series, with lots of time for Kate and Curran, and we even learned more about Roland. Curran and Kate are probably one of my most favorite couples in any Urban Fantasy series I read. Even in the crazy magic-filled world they live in, they seem to have some of the same problems as other couples. They have to get their wedding planned, their kid isn't really following any of the rules they set, and oh yea, they have to protect Atlanta from Kate's father...again. I absolutely love that Kate really just wants to exchange vows with Curran and not worry about anyone being there for the ceremony. I loved that Julie is really starting to show more of the person she wants to be. Yes, she is very much like Kate in many things, but she is her own person too, and I feel like we saw more of who she will become in Magic Binds. Roland pushed Kate more in Magic Binds than he had in previous books. I have to say; I loved seeing Kate show even more fight than usual in Magic Binds. I think part of the reason I love the Kate Daniels series so much is because in addition to action, adventure, and romance, we get so much humor in every single book. Some of the humor is pretty dry, but it makes me laugh every single time. Overall I felt like Magic Binds was a very strong story in the Kate Daniels series. I liked the changes to Kate, and could see much growth in her character. I loved that we got to spend time with some of my favorite members of the pack, and found myself even liking some characters I'd not liked in the past. I will say I felt like part of the storyline just ended rather abruptly, and I would have liked more of a resolution to it. Not to give any spoilers away, but I have to say Kate and Curran's wedding was everything I had hoped for and I felt it was absolutely perfect for them. Fans of the Kate Daniels series will be completely in their happy place while they read Magic Binds. I highly recommend reading the entire Kate Daniels series to anyone who is a fan of the Urban Fantasy genre. I will say you really do need to read the series in order to understand the history of the characters and the dynamics of the world and everything going on currently. I caught up on the entire series last year in audiobook, and can highly recommend them to anyone who wants to give this series a try. Rating: 4 Stars (B+) Review copy provided by publisher

Magic Binds. A Kate Daniel's story is always worth the wait.

Abso-freakin-amazing!. Abso-freakin-amazing! The writing team, Ilona Andrews, once again pens a must read adventure in the ninth installment of the Kate Daniels series, Magic Binds. You’d think after the former Beast Lord Curran retired things would calm down for Kate and Curran. Well you’d be very wrong! With Roland tower building and kidnapping the demigod, and on Kate’s poop list friend, Saiman, things have just gotten a lot more complicated. Friendship will be tested, allegiances and birth rights all come in to play in what is just the prelude to Kate’s and Curran’s wedding plans. You can choose your friends but you can't choose your family. Get ready for another epic romantic urban fantasy in the Kate Daniels series. If you haven’t read this series, you seriously are missing out on one of the best out there. It is pure perfection; a readers dream cocktail of impeccably balancing romance, intense action, world building, character development, fantasy galore and humor. They did it again!. Once again the awesome team that makes up Iona Andrews have produced a book that leaves you wanting for more and more. Again, we have the many trials of Kate and Curran and their many friends. There are battles, scars and love all mixed in to make this an awesome read. Be aware that this is not a standalone read. You must read the series in order to understand many parts of the book. But that is one of the things that makes it so wonderful. A must read for fans. A good reason for others to start the series. This one is worth it!

Beautifully written. This is a fantastic addition to the Kate Daniels series. You won't get it if you haven't read the rest of the books and novellas. If you have, it's adventurous, sweet and a little sad. I can feel the end of the series coming and I'll be sad when it comes. This is a truly gifted pair of authors.

Awesome!. I love Kate and Curran's story and read the series repeatedly, it never gets old. Thank you Ilona Andrews for another captivating story. I'm off to re-read it.

Amazing as alway!. Another amazing book in the series.

Magic Binds. Could not put this book down. Am a huge fan of this series and each book just gets better and better. I am in awe of these authors, the ability they have of making you addicted to their books is real and inspiring. Once again we dive into Kate Daniels world and travel with her through a series of trails and triumphs some that make you laugh some that make you want to scream but all that make you want to read to the end without stopping, if only I could read the next one already, it's going to be another nail biting wait for no 10.

iBooks refuses to format. I would love to honestly review but am so frustrated, this is the 2nd Kate Daniels book this year I've preordered at a whopping $18.99 for it to come up with a format error, advising it's unable to download not being formatted correctly. Cmon Apple, I could have gone to the store, bought a hard copy and finished it by now. How many others got screwed with his non downloadable preorder???
