All the Little Liars by Charlaine Harris Book Summary

#1 New York Times bestseller Charlaine Harris finally returns to her fan-favorite Aurora Teagarden series with All the Little Liars, a fabulously fun new mystery and the basis for a movie from Hallmark.

Aurora Teagarden is basking in the news of her pregnancy when disaster strikes her small Georgia town: four kids vanish from the school soccer field in an afternoon. Aurora’s 15-year-old brother Phillip is one of them. Also gone are two of his friends, and an 11-year-old girl who was just hoping to get a ride home from soccer practice. And then there’s an even worse discovery—at the kids’ last known destination, a dead body.

While the local police and sheriff’s department comb the county for the missing kids and interview everyone even remotely involved, Aurora and her new husband, true crime writer Robin Crusoe, begin their own investigation. Could the death and kidnappings have anything to do with a group of bullies at the middle school? Is Phillip’s disappearance related to Aurora’s father’s gambling debts? Or is Phillip himself, new to town and an unknown quantity, responsible for taking the other children? But regardless of the reason, as the days go by, the most important questions remain. Are the kids still alive? Who could be concealing them? Where could they be?

With Christmas approaching, Aurora is determined to find her brother…if he’s still alive.

Disappointing. A decent quick read but the ending felt incomplete, the mystery was solved in my mind within the first few chapters. It felt like the book just ended with no justice served.

a mystery that you can really sink your teeth into. Aurora is happily pregnant, living content with her new husband and her ½ brother Phillip, when suddenly her world is torn apart when Phillip and three other kids disappear. Of course, Phillip being a new comer to town and a runaway, is blamed for their untimely disappearance. Now Aurora must pull out all the stop to uncover the mystery behind the missing kids before it’s too late. Harris writes a tale that uncovers bullying and hate crimes all within the heart of Aurora’s home town. This puts a deep strain on Robin and Aurora’s new marriage but when Aurora’s father arrives pointing fingers it makes Aurora dig deep to find the strength to push on to what’s important…the missing children. Another fabulously penned mystery by Charlaine Harris, All the Little Liars faces the terrible social situations of today while providing a mystery that you can really sink your teeth into. Although this is a series, All the Little Liars was my first read in this series but won't be my last with plans to back read the rest. I found it quick and easy to follow and didn't feel like I was trying to play catch up or lost by missing previous books. I received this ARC copy of All the Little Liars from St. Martin's Press - Minotaur Books in exchange for a honest review.

I love the Aurora Teagarden Series. I love the Aurora Teagarden series and have really enjoyed reading the books as much as I enjoyed watching the movies. However it seems like the gap between when the books were written also caused some of the original plot lines to change. Aurora went from being independently wealthy after inheriting money from Jane and then Martin but then she was suddenly an average middle class individual watching her budget even though she had just married a best selling author. Also her mother went from being real estate mogul to being successful without reference to her money which was a big focus in previous books in the series. Then at the end of this book John”s kids were coming home for Christmas even though is the previous book and earlier in this one they lived in Lawrenceton. Maybe it’s because I binge read the series that the events and chronology seems off.

9th book in series!. All the Little Liars by Charlaine Harris is the ninth book in the An Aurora Teagarden Mystery series. Aurora is back from her honeymoon and is settling into married life with Robin Crusoe in Lawrenceton, Georgia. They are both excited about Aurora’s pregnancy (her library gives her a whole three weeks off for maternity leave). Aurora’s half-brother, Phillip is staying with them. He could not stay with their father and hitchhiked from California to Georgia to get away from him. Things are going well until Aurora gets a call from Beth Finstermeyer. Phillip is out playing with her twins, but Beth has been unable to reach Josh and Joss. Aurora cannot reach Phillip on his cell phone. Then they hear that Liza Scott, eleven years old, is also missing. The four kids were last seen at the soccer field. When the police check the soccer field, they find a body. What happened at the soccer field? Aurora starts asking questions and delving into each families lives. Then they hear that Clayton Harrison, the town’s charming teen bad boy, has disappeared. Is his disappearance related to the other kids? Someone knows the answers, and Aurora is determined to get the answers. All the Little Liars does not fit in with the other books in this series. The book is slow paced and the mystery plays out even slower rate. The mystery can be solved very easily (I was hoping for a real challenge). Aurora being in the early stages of her pregnancy is experiencing morning sickness. We get to hear about her throwing up (in too much detail). It was disgusting and totally unnecessary. I give All the Little Liars 3 out of 5 stars. All the Little Liars felt more like a rough draft, than a finished novel. I found that information was repeated and there are a couple of inconsistencies. I hope Ms. Harris will be back on her game with the next book in An Aurora Teagarden Mystery series.

Entertaining!. In this installment of the Aurora (Roe) Teagarden series we have Roe expecting her first child, she's getting to know her half brother Phillip and just enjoying her new marriage with Robin. But things are about to be shaken up for Roe once again when Phillip ends up missing. Police are called and find that more teens are missing and then a dead body is found. I'm really bad about jumping into the middle of a series and I have not read previous books... yet. I read this authors Sookie Stackhouse books years ago and really enjoyed them so I wanted to see if this was anther series I could get into. I'm actually surprised with how different they are from each other. Despite not having the excitement of paranormal characters, this was a fun read. I really enjoyed the thought process Roe had in trying to uncover her brothers whereabouts. I also wasn't lost since I haven't read the previous books. The author did a good job of providing enough details to keep you up to date on the characters. Overall, I really liked this book and will read more in the series. ARC provided by NetGalley.
