Horrible. Story didn't make sense and it was VERY creepy all the highschool girls started banging their teachers and keeping it a secret. Keep your uniform girl fetish in your head. Don't waste your time

Great start. An interesting and enjoyable new take on the supernatural. I liked that we saw events through a couple of perspectives/narrators. A couple of times the teen angst was a bit much but overall a very good read. Definitely interested in seeing what book 2 has in store. Not Disappointed. It kept me hooked in

An exciting new series. Stranger is a new paranormal suspense that is the first book in the Academy of the Peculiar Saga and is the start of Sophie’s journey from never fitting in anywhere to beginning to learn who and what she is and are there others like her. This well- written and exciting storyline has a plot that is suspenseful, dramatic, and action- oriented, with interesting characters and vivid and intense scenes. The storyline begins with Stranger and flows into the next book, Finder. I’m excited to see where this story is going.

Finding acceptance. An intriguing story about Sophie and her abilities. From living on her own to learning to deal with a society of people that share similar peculiarities and the new challenges it presents. As a result, she has to learn to control her emotions and the physical manifestations from this behavior. Witty and relatable within this genre. Miss Peregrine Meets X-Men. I read The Academy of Peculiars Box Set: A Paranormal Academy Romance (Academy of the Peculiars Saga Book 4) several months ago. I found the boxset to be engaging and very much a page-turner. Reading each book outside of the boxset is no different. The stories are a cross between the Miss Peregrine series and X-Men. Unlike the kids in the Miss Peregrine books, these young people's libido gets much exercise. Of course, I love the book Stranger, which is the first book in the series. There is action in the story via the Peculiars using those powers in paranormal fights, typically to protect themselves or someone else. There are also budding romances, suspense, and mysteries that are unfolding. Unfortunately, one of the young women experiences what she calls "the incident" that far too many young people experience, especially during their college years. There are parallels to characters from X-Men and quite a few distinctions. Ethan reminds me of Xavier, and where would a story like this be without a wolf shifter who reminds me of both Wolverine and Wolfsbane. The female characters are different. Sophie, Ellie, Jane, and Brie are best friends, each with a unique power and a vulnerability that makes the men around them quite protective. They are young adults, but there is still an immaturity about them that makes you want to scream at them one minute and protect them from the world the next. There is an interesting and evolving theme of absolute power corrupting absolutely. How it plays out in this story and future storylines will keep you engaged. Disappointing. This author doesn't know her own characters. In one instance there was an altercation between the main character and a professor Murdoch; but a few chapters later the professor's name had changed to Hathaway... And that is only one example. Too much of the writing was detailing frivolous things and not getting to the point. This book had so much potential and a great initial story line so I'm quite disappointed sorry :(

A bit choppy, strange place to end a book. I found the book jumped around a bit and it felt like some details where missing. It finished with a lot of unanswered questions. There wasn’t a “cliff hanger” as such, just no answers yet, like maybe it was the middle of a book. I did enjoy the characters.

Stranger. The writing style fitted the story as it went back and forth between the two main characters lives. It was really good. I found the relationship between teacher and student a bit weird yet sweet but that is just my personal opinion. The characters weren’t over powered which I have seen too many times and I think that makes them a bit more reliable. Really good.

Sophie and Jane. I could not get into this story, it is about two young women who have different powers, both unique in their own ways. They are both at the academy to learn how to use their power. It was hard going back and forth between their stories. If you don’t mind reading two stories that sort of combine at times then you can try this one. At points the two stories do go together and it becomes interesting but that was toward the end. I guess this book was just not for me, however it could work for you.
