I Am In Love With This Book!. Quinn is a survivor. Since escaping from a horrific home life, she's had to learn to take care of herself and her younger sister on the streets of New York City. Andrew Wentworth knows all too well what fear and loss feel like, and has worked hard to create a life where he is completely in control. When Quinn's and Andrew's worlds intersect, the balance and boundaries that each has created will be tested. Any book by Brenda Rothert is going to be on my TBR. As a longtime fan, I know that Brenda's books will not disappoint, and, oh, my goodness, did she ever knock it out of the park with HIS. I can honestly say that this is one of my favorite of Brenda's books to date, and one of her most engaging stories ever. I was fully invested in Quinn's and Andrew's story from the first page, and absolutely could not put this book down. There are many secrets within the story, ones that each reader should uncover on their own, so I don't want to say too much for fear of giving anything away. Suffice to say that HIS is a must-read, one that I would recommend without hesitation. HIS is an engaging, action-packed, sexy 5-star read, and I hope to see more of these characters in the future.

Theirs. Just when I think Brenda Rothert can’t amaze me any more than she already has, she goes and writes His. This is a romantic suspense that brings us two characters who operate on the same emotional plane – fortressed, devastated by loss and never knowing who they can really trust. Brenda takes us inside the heads of Quinn and Andrew and lets us feel the full weight of their burdens, making this story that much more powerful. From the very first pages, I was all in. And by “all in”, I mean I did not put this book down for anything. His is so well told and moves at a fast pace, but still allows us to understand exactly what makes these characters really tick. Quinn is Ferocious. She is where is she for all the right reasons. To not only survive, but to protect what’s hers, she has to make very difficult choices and the sheer guts required to make them is breath-taking. Brenda does not sugar-coat Quinn’s life in the least. So many heart-wrenching moments and it is impossible to suspend your disbelief – for too many people, that is their reality and we get an unflinching view of what that feels like. *Takes a deep breath* As much as I loved the other elements of this book, every scene of Quinn’s that took place on the street that were among my favorites. Because Brenda’s words put me there and let me feel everything that Quinn experienced. It really was just so incredibly well done. Andrew is every bit of an enigma. He is born protector, but so hunkered down in his world, that he has all but lost the piece of his humanity that allows him to truly connect with another person. It made my heart just ache for him. His soul needed a balm and it was delivered in the form of Quinn, who needed someone herself. I loved Andrew and Quinn’s connection, it was combative and (very) combustible but mostly it was the perfect mending of two very fractured hearts. At this point every book is a beach read, but His is a perfect book to get lost in over an afternoon while you are enjoying the sun and sand. Just make sure that you have plenty of sunscreen or a really big umbrella, because you don’t want to burn. Happy reading!!!

Amazing Characters- LOVE this story!. I'm at a loss for words to explain why without giving away the story. Except - Read this book. Quinn and Andrew are what I want in characters for a non-stop read. Quinn is strong. She's motivated. She knows what she needs in the relationship with Andrew and stays strong throughout the story without wavering. Andrew's request for the neat and tidy relationship he's had in the past is turned on its head. And it's Andrew's quiet, steady perseverance that the terms of agreement can always be revamped. But there are secrets. I hate secrets. I always want to know. That's why it took me less than 24 hours to read. The first 60% of the story deals with Quinn and Andrew finding their footing. Then all the sudden, the storyline picks up pace where one secret after another is revealed. You are rooting for the HEA that all the characters in the story deserve. This is not my first Brenda Rothert book and won't be my last. However, I will state without a doubt it's my favorite. It's definitely a standalone where you feel completely satisfied at the end. 5 out of 5 stars.
