The Dragon's Queen by Michelle M. Pillow Book Summary

Mede is a strong-willed dragon shifter who refuses to marry. Prince Llyr wants her for himself — but with enemies gathering and time running out, can he persuade her to become his queen?

Mede knows three things for a fact:
As the only female dragon-shifter of her people, she is special.

She can kick the backside of any man.

And she absolutely doesn’t want to marry.

Mede has spent a lifetime trying to prove she’s as strong as any male warrior. Unfortunately, being the special, rare creature she is, she’s been claimed as the future bride to nearly three dozen dragons—each one confident that when they come for her hand in marriage, fate will choose them. When the men aren’t bragging about how they’re going to marry her, they’re acting like she’s a delicate rare flower in need of their protection.

But Mede is far from a shrinking solarflower.

Prince Llyr knows four things for a fact:
He is the future king of the dragon shifters.

He must act honorably in all ways.

He absolutely, positively is meant to marry Lady Mede.

And she is dead set against marriage.

Llyr’s fate rests in the hands of a woman determined not to have any man. With a new threat emerging amongst their cat-shifting neighbors, a threat whose eyes are focused firmly on Mede, time may be running out. It is up to the prince to convince her to be his dragon queen.

Book Nine of the Dragon Lords series:This is the original Dragon Lords series by NY Times and USA TODAY Bestselling Author, Michelle M. Pillow. A Prequel Story.

"The Dragon's Queen is one Kick-Butt romantic story of the woman everyone considers a rare and precious gem and the one man who sees beyond the 'fairy tale' to the hardcore goddess she really is... I enjoyed this book from start to finish, watching both Llyr and Mede change and move towards each other as who they are meant to be." Kris, Insightful Mind Reviews (2014)

Great dragon shifter romance. Mede was the lone female dragon shifter. All the boys propose to her but she wanted to be loved for her not because she was the only female. She broke her crystal after a fight with her mother and is determined never to Marry. Llyr was in line to be King but knew Mede was made for him. I love that Llyr understood that Mede needed to be her own person and gave her room to grow. Loved when she changed to protect him. Michelle M. pillow is a great storyteller.

Prequel to the Dragon Series. This story was the prequel to the Qurilixen dragon series. The female lead was a bit of a spoiled brat. She crushed her own magic stone when she was young because she wanted to dictate her own destiny. Then she proceeded to push away the guy she was attracted to, that declared his love to her, because she didn’t think his stone was saying they were compatible. I had a hard time liking this leading lady and the disjointed logic behind her thoughts and behavior. She played hard to get for way too long. Nonetheless, I gave this story four stars because it was well written and it put some context to events that happen in some of the other stories. I do like the fantasy of the Qurilixen universe Michelle M. Pillow has created. The Space Lords series is my favorite, followed by the Var series. This is where it all began. Medellyn is special. She's a very rare female dragon shifter. Endlessly courted by the males in her life, Medellyn , or Mede as she preferred to be called, wanted only to left alone to enjoy the things she loved to do; like train to be a warrior, ride ceffyls, and hunt in the forest. Daring to join a secret male-only dragon shifter sect, she meets a Var male in cat-shifter lands while completing an initiation rite to join the sect. The chance meeting sets off a chain of events that will change both of their lives. Prince Llyr, future king of the Draig, watches Lady Mede from a careful distance. He feels bound to her, but knows that if he comes on too strong, he'll lose her. Can Mede forget the strange blond cat-shifter? Will Prince Llyr ever be able to declare his feelings for her without it driving her away? Read this exciting story about a strong-willed heroine and the men who love her and find out!

Great Story. Llyr hides his glowing crystal to persuade Mede to choose him for himself. Their story is filled with lots of interesting encounters. This story really explains why King Attor of the Var hates the Draig, especially Llyr and Mede. Thoroughly enjoyable. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

A strong female shifter and the fated mate you can’t help loving. I love that these two have background. Mede doesn’t even realize Llyr has been watching her since he was a boy. The way these characters interact is so heartachingly sweet, with a touch of sadness for the misunderstanding you can see coming a mile away. Their angsty romance is derailed by a couple of twists thrown in their path resulting in an action packed fun sexy read. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Medellyn and Llyr. Medellyn is a female dragon shifter of the Draig. She doesn’t need a mate. Mede smashed her crystal. She is destined to be more than a subservient wife and popping out dragon babies. Mede has trained to be a member of the Dead Dragon warriors. On a task she runs into the cat shifters. She has to get fur from one of the shifters in their territory. Unknowingly, she has met the Prince Attor of the Var. He is instantly taken with her and plans to use her to create a new breed to take over the planet. His father the king has become a drunk. So Attor has been guided by terrible influences. Prince Llyr of the Draig has loved Mede for years. He knows she is his fated mate. But he can’t scare her off with his glowing crystal. He knows she is a great warrior but he still needs to protect her. He convinces Mede to start a relationship. Their chemistry and attraction is off the charts. But she doesn’t believe she is his mate. Good story with lots of drama, off the chart chemistry and the back story about the tension between the two shifter kingdoms. Love the story of how the King and Queen and parents of the four princes got together. Also, explained how her mother’s cookies became important to the Queen Mede. Her mother could get her way with the cookies. Her mother might appear subservient but she was smart. This raps up the series with the royal family of dragon shifters. Has a HEA. A great addition to an addicting series!. The only female dragon born may have met her match in this newest addition that doesn’t disappoint. Prince Llyr knew from the time he was little that Mede was special, but he didn’t know how much until his stone lights up. Love their story, a strong independent woman who’s not afraid of anything verse a Prince who has to be patient to win her. Loads of action, entertainment and a romance that was meant to be. A great addition to an addicting must read series!

"She’d need to discover her future for herself.". Mede is one of a kind, in every conceivable way, that doesn't mean every man she encounters should propose marriage. She isn't looking to be just another wife... she wants to be somebody, now she's got to figure out who and what that somebody will be. Prince Llyr, future king, skilled warrior, and eligible bachelor, wants to meet Mede... not because she's the lone female of their kind, but because of who she is as a person, but can he convince this amazing woman, who is used to people not getting to know her, or truly see her, that he sees all of her, and loves her all the more for it. This done in one book is a great story about the woman fit to be Queen, the one with the strength to stand toe to toe with a King, to lead in her own right, the confidence in her skills to lead alongside him, the heart and compassion to care for all of their people. This story shows the many sides of these future leaders, and what life demands from them. I was gifted with a copy of this book and chose to share my review.

Another great book. Mede was the lone female dragon shifter. All the boys proposed to her but she wanted to be loved for her and not because she was the only female. Enjoyable. With other books I have read from this author I found it to be well developed and interesting . There’s plenty of drama action and romance that had me turning the pages. Great chemistry between the characters. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book via Booksprout.

The Dragon’s Queen. It’s a last book in the series and you may find here some answers to the series, because this is how it started. This is book about Royal Parents. Quite intriguing, too. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Fantastic Flash-back. I’ve read most of the previous Draig - Qurilixen World books, so I knew how things eventually ended, but even still, this book was a treat. At the beginning, Attor the Var Prince didn’t seem that bad, which surprised me, and his initial interaction with Mede seemed almost innocence. But the pure chemistry between Llyr and Mede was absolute magic; I just loved how they were together. A simply fantastic addition to the Qurilixen World.

Great cap end to series. It might seem funny to say that a prequel story would be a great ending to a series but that’s just what this is. Michelle M. Pillow has done a great job making the romance stories in this series very different from each other and has an excellent overall story that runs through the books. This book which is about the parents of the princes in the other books and does a marvelous job of giving us more details about how the situations on this planet came about while it tells the romance of Mede and Llyr. Mede and Prince Llyr are fated by their Gods to marry but this couldn’t be a story that followed a regular pattern for a romance and still live up to the quality of the rest of this series. I don’t want to give anything away but I will say that it’s a marvelous read and I really enjoyed it. You can read these books out of order the way I accidentally did (oops) or as I would recommend you can read them in order. Either way you are in for a marvelous journey. Enjoy. Royal couple’s backstory. Having read the stories about the royal children, I really enjoyed the backstory and details around how the parents originally met and were matched. A snapshot into the past of Var and Draig nations, it was interesting to see what caused animosity between the two to escalate. I really liked getting to know Llyr, Mede and even Attor better as individuals with their own history, desires and aspirations. The adaptations to the breeding festival along with the female dragon myth coming to life amidst a potential crisis all rounded out this enjoyable story.
