Great Start to New Series. “Somehow, when he was near she’d felt safe.” Book one in a new (for me) Qurilixen series, Space Lords. Evan, who we’ve met in the past, is a member of Jarek’s crew. He’s an empath. Their ship discovers Josselyn, who’s been in stasis for over a hundred years, on a frozen, abandoned moon circling a dead planet. I’m not going to summarize the plot. That’s why you read the book. I will say there’s a lot going on and I was glued to my tablet, reading the entire thing in one day. And because this is a romance, there’s obviously a love story between Evan and Josselyn. Now for the truth. While you can probably stumble through this book as a complete stand alone a lot is going to be difficult to understand. The reality is, this series is not for newcomers to Michelle’s Qurilixen world. This book and the series are meant to be read after the Dragon Lords series and Lords of the Var series. Also, based on this book and the blurbs for the rest of the books in this series, the same is true for the other four Space Lords books. Not that this is a hardship. I’m crazy about these series and ready to try to find a way to go to Qurilixen, asap!. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

His Frost Maiden. This was a wonderful start for new series. The storyline kept my interest from start to finish and the characters had a wonderful chemistry. Entertaining. Entertaining space story involving an empath and frozen lady. Their beginnings may be unique but the love interest and heated moments are a tale as long as time. The narrator did a great job with providing unique voices for each character and appropriate tone inflections for each scene. I received a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

The empath finds love. Michelle M. Pillow is an awesome storyteller. This book is the first in the series by her. I love it. Did not want to put it down. Ethan is an empath and Josselyn was a prisoner of war encased an ice. He found her and saved her but she also saved him and helped him come to terms with his past. A great spin-off of the Qurilixen world. The Qurillixen world gets bigger, but is just as enthralling. I loved the Var and Jarek’s crew look like they will have just as exciting adventures. Though Evan and Josselyn’s story is sometimes sad their journey was sexy, and fun, and had some twists I didn’t see coming. With an interesting crew on the ship where a lot of the story takes place, this story establishes a lot of characters that would be fun/interesting to see again, including Violette. His Frost Maiden. This is first book in the series so is a little complicated. Just great concept I had to dive in. Space ships, spirits, pirates and romance.
