Keeps you on wsge. This was a great read the only part that of Ariella’s character that annoyed me was her immaturity at times but that was to be expected as a young mom.

Neil. Amazing! Couldn’t put it down.

5 stars !!!. this is the third time i’ve read this book & it never gets old, love love love the viking ! (this is me rereading it a fourth time, still my favorite !!!)

Viking.. This is by far my favorite book of Sybil’s, the storyline was unique and interesting and not to mention hot. I love how she built Neil and Ariel’s relationship, this book has and will stick with me for a long time. All time favorite.

Neil. The story was good, it was a lot of back and forth, moved a little on the slow side but overall a good read. And Ariel got her happily ever after.

The Viking. I knew the Viking would be great and it did not disappoint! A sign of a good book is your still up at 3am reading even though you know you have to get up in a few hours. Loved Talon, but Neil.....HOT! The book has non stop action and I didn’t want it to end. Now on to Andre....hard to leave the Viking though!

Neil. Had to reread the last few chapters because I didn’t want to let go of the book, it was that good. Loved both Neil and Ariela characters—great and fascinating chemistry. Thanks for this book that I finally have had to put down.

More. I love all of Sybil books, but Neil had me sitting on the edge of my seat. Neil had me feeling all kinds of emotions. Great author.

Loved!!!. 21 yr old Ariel is barely scraping by. She's a single mom with a crappy ex. 34 yr old Neil is ex-military. They first meet when Neil saves Ariel from an attack. Months later, Neil walks through the door with her boss at the security company she works for. Suddenly Neil starts stepping in to help her but he's so cold and detached that it completely throws Ariel off. Then Ariel's ex gets her involved in a dangerous situation that forces Neil to step in and protect her. This is when things really take off with the story. There's so much action that there isn't a dull moment. The whole time Neil is providing for and protecting Ariel but he's also so emotionally cold. Ariel is used to being treated poorly so much that she's fed up with men. She's feisty and doesn't put up with crap and constantly challenges Neil. I loved that about her but was also frustrated with it as well. I love the alpha men who are emotionally stunted but show their love in actions instead of words. That's Neil to the T. He barely speaks full sentences. He doesn't waste time with words and expects everyone to do as he says. He's one of the most Alpha men I've read about but also the most protective and caring. What Ariel thought was cold and unfeeling, slowly learns that this is how Neil is showing his love for her. Through most of the book, if you didn't pay attention to how Neil's actions towards Ariel were, then you would think she meant nothing to him. He was even insulting at times but I don't think he really was, he just came off that way since he never explained anything. I freakin loved this book! Neil is one of my favorite Alpha types that I crave to read about. If all of Sybil Bartel's books are like this, then I have a new author to add to my favorites! ***ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Oh boy.. First off, I enjoyed Bartel's writing style. Ariel was a gritty determined character who's smarter than she gives herself credit for. Love her. Neil, not so much. I wanted to love him, I really did, I enjoy an alfa character but there's nothing sexy about a rich middle aged guy who takes advantage of a struggling single mother, who's 21. And a part time stripper. He's overbearing to the point of being abusive and she sees it at first but towards the end, he just wears her down by being generous and relentless in his pursuit of her. She decides he's not controlling her but taking care of her and she wants to submit to his will because, who knows why, she's tired of fighting I guess. Oddly enough she realizes that Neil is a calculating guy who has access to very personal information about her. But she never stops to wonder if he is somehow involved in the difficult situation she finds herself in which is also how he gets his hooks in her. I felt really bad for her even though she got what I guess was a happy ending. This was a lot like the Krinar chronicles. If you liked this one, you're gonna like that one too.

Recommended. Neil is ex Danish military and Ariel is a single mother who works for a friend of Neil’s. I enjoyed this book even though Neil is a little monosyllabic. He was very cute with her son even while trying to keep them at a distance. When trouble came to Ariel by way of her ex, Neil comes to her aid. Neil seems super cold and unfeeling but he can’t seem to stay away and he does everything in his power to protect Ariel and her son. This is a very action packed read and I have loved every book I have read by Sybil Bartel. This can be read as a stand-alone but it has interconnected characters with all of her other books.

Not alpha; creepy. Almost stopped reading twice because this is more porn than even erotica. Wanted to find out what happened to the young mother.

The Viking. All I will say is that Neil has a way about him. He is consistent. I appreciate the way to his love it’s quite interesting. Well worth reading this Alpha male story.

Neil. Good storyline. But I read Talon first and the interactions between some of the characters seemed off in Neil. Especially the motorcycle gang. I am anticipating reading about Andre next.

Frustrating. Took a little long to get through everything. Almost quit halfway through. It’s alright.

Neil. Love this book!

Good. 4 stars because it was good, and when i wasnt reading it..i wanted to be!! But i really missed the dual POV in Sybils books! I would have loved to know what Neil was thinking

Totally Worth the Read!. Who knew Viking had a soft spot for a Feisty Single Mom. One of my favorite Story lines so far.

Neil is exponentially different but fantastically written. I fell in love with Neil’s character probably the most out of every character I’ve read from this author. His personality dark, he’s quick with short words and very intelligent. The only thing I would’ve wanted more in the story would be from his point of view. He was deliciously written & his secretive state to him draws you in so quick. I found myself mad at the female character and her character development more times than I could count because it felt like she was repeating herself with phrases, quotes in the book. I didn’t like that I could read her and knew what to expect in a character. It would’ve been nice to not know or have an idea the way the book made her seem.. probably my favorite book out of the series. Also Neil’s story.. I didn’t really expect which I liked.

Neil and Ariel. So much suspense. I loved Arielle’s sassy personality. It was truly entertaining. The best book I have read in a long time

Wishing for a part 2?. This book was insane. I loved it & was wishing for a part 2 so bad. 10/10

Had mixed feelings. It had that usual hot steamy sexual tensions and chemistry between Viking looking Danish ex-Special Forces Neil Christensen and Ariel Madison, a strong willed and devoted single mother of a cute toddler, Conner who worked as a receptionist by day and a stripped at night. Also, I still enjoyed the occasional interaction with Luna, Talon and rookie associate, Tyler. It did have a lot of twists and shocking turn’s especially the intense relationship between Neil and Ariel. I strongly admire Ariel’s determination and dedication to raise her sweet 2 year old son Conner on her own despite of her working two jobs to make ends meet without the support of her ex-boyfriend. Also she’s not afraid to call out what’s wrong and speaks her mind without caring what other people think of her. Yeah I have mixed feelings about Neil’s story and there’s definitely an black and white issue regarding how Neil handled and the way he treated Ariel up to the end. There’s one shocking revelation in this story that I found it heartbreaking and have a great deal of sympathy for Ariel. It was difficult for me to have some kind of sympathy for Neil for keeping something from Ariel that ultimately broke her heart. It was okay read with mixed feelings.

Favorite!. I’ve read many of Her books & I’ve always been a fan of Viking in the them but after reading his story, OMG I’m obsessed!!! I was NOT disappointed!

As always a pleasure to read your work. Beautifully written, as always, would love to have a chapter after everything settles a quick glimpse at the wedding ect! ;)

Neil. This is the second book I’ve read and have enjoyed both immensely as the author draws you in in the first paragraph and you don’t want to put it down.

Awful female character. Not sure I can finish this book. Ariella is pretty useless and dumb. For who she is described as, it makes sense but why everyone else is falling at her feet is a mystery I can’t solve. I would pass because if you like strong female characters this doesn’t come close. Bravado doesn’t equal strong and it’s disappointing.

Amazing. Omg I couldn’t put this book down! Loves it!

Overwhelming presence but underwhelming character.. Torn. No doubt hot characters and scenes, but just can’t get past being annoyed at how easily Ariel gets manhandled by Neil and how there was never any explosive declaration from him at all. Brooding character taken too far in my opinion.

Viking Warrior. W.o.w. What can I say? Ariel is one tough cookie. To go through what she did, and to put up with Neil... whoa! But, Ohhh My goodness...... talk about paying off. Really enjoyed this book, this series! Cant wait to read Andres story. 👍👍👍👍👍😁

Intense. What a journey this author has taken me on, I love their style. I feel like I’ve been on the edge of my seat, completely gripped by this story. It was intense and at times I felt heartbroken and stooged, I was wrecked by it and it was completely brilliant.

Tantalising until the very end!. Absolutely loved this book! Although only written from the female protagonist’s perspective which is different to how Sybil normally writes, I loved the mystery surrounding the male protagonist and felt it suited his character to not know his point of view. Exciting, sexy, and very satisfying!
