Sooooo good. I love this book. Nate’s my all time fav tho. Addy’s a baddie. Bronwyn so smart. I could never. And Cooper is so nice. Did not deserve what he got. Jakes an pain in the a**. Simon is stupid but at least he tells the truth. Anyway good book. If need recommendations read Alive by Chandler Baker.

Riveting!. I am completely blown away by this book! I went in ready for suspense. I was looking for a chance the channel my inner detective, and to try to figure out the mystery before it revealed itself at the end, which I almost failed at! I was completely clueless on who done it, until literally RIGHT before it was revealed!! I was stumped and my suspicions were all over the place and absolutely nowhere all at once. These characters draw you in, and they make you like them so much that you couldn’t possibly imagine them being guilty, yet leave you completely disappointed when you think they might be the big baddy of the story. I won’t reveal a single spoiler for this story, because this book deserves to be experienced. This book has darkness, suspense, mystery, and a touch of romance and heartbreak. Basically— It. Has. It. All. Read this book, only, if you want to be completely taken away, and swept up into a world where trust is challenged and suspense proves to be your favorite obstacle!!

Ok. Kind of slow and the ending was predictable

Interesting enough. Very well written, though I did guess the ending (for the most part) about halfwag through. No plot holes though which is always a plus!!

Found out it’s going to be a tv show. April 2020, Just found out this set to become a tv show on NBC’s streaming platform. I loved this book so much that I truly hope it goes through.

It’s…okay.. I got this book when it was first released and was ecstatic to start reading it since I’m a huge fan of TBC and horror…so when seeing the two together I had to read it, right? Well, it starts out pretty strong but sooner or later you realize that this book and it’s plot is utterly predictable. The end sort’ve just leaves you like “that’s it?”. The storyline is dull and it feel pointless to get used to these characters because (❗️SPOILERS❗️) they had nothing to do with the murder and all the theories you had for why they could’ve done it just goes straight out the window. Currently at a debate to read the second book.

So….. I’ll be honest, i had high expectations for this book. Someone recommended me this, and the cover seemed promising so I tried it out. Im disappointed to say that there was too much teenage drama that honestly I couldn’t really care much about. The last few chapters make up some of it, and it was interesting enough to keep me reading. I love the characters and dynamics, but I believe it could be better

Good but unfulfilling. The book in itself was very entertaining, but the plot twist was somewhat predictable and the ending felt lazy and rushed, as if the author just wanted to get it over with. This book is great for those who are new to the suspense genre, but if you read a lot of thrillers, don't bother with this book.

AMAZING.. i can’t believe i never started this series before now because OH MY GOSH.

IN. LOVE. 💙. I have been wanting to read this for some time now. I had a it in my ‘want to read’ section but got so distracted with life that I completely forgot I had it on there. Then I saw that it was turned into a show on Peacock and that reminded me of it! As soon as I started on the first page and it introduced Bronwyn I knew she was going to be my favorite! I was instantly hooked onto her character and Nate’s. Just their demeanor and personality drew me in. I grew to love Addy and Cooper as well but I immediately connected with ‘Brate’. Yup that’s my ship name for them 🤣 This book was completely amazing! I was up until 3:30am finishing it because I could not go to sleep if I didn’t find out about start twists that were happening! 10 out of 10 for me! 👍🏻👍🏻

It was okay. The book was okay I mean the characters were kind of basic. I mean it’s nothing you haven’t seen before. It wasn’t the worst ending but it wasn’t really worth reading almost 400 pages but that’s just me.

ok. Honestly, this book has been praised as if it was God. It just didn’t do it for me. Sure, it had some suspense to it. But it was just too generic.

Honestly not that great. Karen M. McManus’s writing is not that good tbh. In mystery books, or in any books, there’s usually a plot twist or something huge or shocking happens at the end. The ending wasn’t exactly something nobody would’ve ever expected, you know? And the way she wrote it didn’t really even make it like this huge plot twist, she kinda brought it on slowly by having it brought up as an idea that they considered and then confirmed. But even the way it was confirmed wasn’t shocking, it was kinda casual. Honestly, it was a good story, definitely gripping, but she definitely needs to work in her writing.

Possibly the Best Book I’ve Ever Read. I’m just going to say this honestly- I’ve read this book over ten times now. It’s one of the best books I’ve ever read, and I have a lot of books I’ve loved. Bronwyn, Nate, Addy, and Cooper are all so well written, and you can really see the effort the author put into the book. The twists and turns are all very interesting, and the ending was very satisfying. Even minor characters feel really well done, and I love them all. This was such a cool concept for a book, and as a person who loves murder mysteries, I had a lot of fun reading this. I can’t describe the amount of love I have for this book. Seriously-pick up a copy of this book. You won’t regret it.

I love this book!. This is such a great book for young adults! It had me hooked from the start; the characters were described in great detail! So many unexpected plot twists and turns; you’ll be guessing until the very very end! This book got me back into reading, and had me on the edge of my seat!

wow. I’m not good at writing reviews, but I thought I’d try for this book. I’m not gonna give you the whole plot, but long story short, this book is AMAZING. Not only is a mystery about what happened to Simon, but you also really get to know the 4 main characters, and by the end I felt as if I was best friends with them. Amazing plot twist at the end, the suit hit really keeps you u going with how it happened, right until the very end. Downloading the sequel right now!

Pretty great. For the most part, I recommend. The storyline was nice, and I absolutely love the character development! I think for somebody who hasn’t read many mystery novels, it’s pretty good. - I know the characters were planned to be this way, but they were a bit stereotypical, especially Bronwyn and Nate. I do love both of their personalities, which made up for it. Bronwyn narrated a bit too much of the book, and I didn’t enjoy her perspective as much as I enjoyed Nate’s and Addy’s. On the other hand, I don’t think any of the other characters would’ve been able to narrate the information the same as how Bronwyn did. I just think Cooper and Addy should’ve narrated a bit too. Along with this, Nate’s character was a bit too negative even though it was a trait of his. I wish he went a bit more in depth to how he felt rather than telling us what was wrong and why he disliked something. Nate’s character was really nice otherwise, and same with the rest. Each character was fun to read about! The other side characters had a really good introduction, which made them like able and also felt to be a part of the book. They somehow all played a big role within a character or two. The plot twist was alright, though when it mentioned that Simon was depressed, I immediately knew who who was charged of committing the crime. When the side character became involved was unexpected though, which is a good thing! Readers love a good plot twist. I especially loved Addy’s character development. Every character acted human, and you can see that with all their mistakes and accomplishments throughout the book. - If you’re looking for a book with action, plot, mystery, and romance, I recommend this novel.

Couldn’t put it down. As someone who barely reads, I read this entire book in two days. It’s story was quite addictive and you get very attached to the characters. A great YA novel I’d recommend to anyone looking for a fun murder mystery!

Great storyline but predictable plot. I read this book and really enjoyed the specific characters storylines but the plot was predictable and about half way through the story I figured it out. But overall the specific characters storylines and little surprises made this book hard to put down.

Disappointing. I got this book expecting a well done thriller according to its rating. However that is not what I got. The overall mystery was dead and the ending beyond predictable. It focused more on teenage drama than anything else. Not to mention the teenage life it portrayed was completely unrealistic and primarily sick and illegal. Would not recommend.

Stunning book!. This book was amazing! I love how this book doesn’t briefly write about the romance, but instead really gets into it. I love the characters and there development throughout the chapters as I could read from everyone’s different point of view. What I really love about this book is how you can try and piece together who did it, but in the end, you’ll never guess who. I’ve never read a plot line quite like this, which is what I believe kept me so into the book! stunning, heart warming, genius, and got me on my feet a few times!

GREAT READ. This book is incredible, from start to finish. It was a little hard at first to keep up with who was narrating, but as soon as I got to know the characters, it was easy to follow from there. I loved the story, the twists, the turns. It kept my attention and managed to surprise me many times. It’s definitely a book I would highly recommend!

Enjoyed the book. It was always keeping me interested. And I swear by half the book I came up with who the killer is in a number of ways. And yet towards the end.. all my guesses were wrong. Good book. More a murder mystery then a thriller.

loved it. this breakfast club inspired novel is a great mix of backstory, character development and suspense. i love the equal balance of plot twists it really spiced the book up. the ending was a little abrupt but it had a very happy ending. this is a very excellent novel. highly recommend!!!!

One of us is lying. Great book! We started a virtual book club and chose I book that was short and with a twist. I also enjoy books who have a catching title and this checked off all of our boxes as a starter book. The book has a feel of the breakfast club with a twist! Nice read for all of the family to enjoy it took me back to my teenage years and things have definitely changed since then lol

A GREAT MIXTURE OF MYSTERY AND ROMANCE. This book was one of the best ones I’ve read in a while. It drew me in with the mystery, and kept me satisfied with the romance and drama. Would recommend for teens or anyone looking for a great read.

Heavier than expected but overall good. It was interesting, with twist after turn, but it also has a heavy dose of reality. I was not expecting the dark turn it took - but it was fun to try and figure it out along the way. Of course the reason for the missing star was a) a little darker than I was prepared for and b) it ended up like a typical teen realistic fiction. But I enjoyed it. Loved the different perspectives! Would recommend as a mystery/romance/thriller!
