From New York Times bestselling author Angie Fox

Southern belle Verity Long is back in business—as a ghost hunter. Now all she has to do is visit the town's creepiest mansion and exorcise a family of vengeful spirits. Piece of cake. After all, ghosts love her and need her...that is until she meets the ghosts of Rock Fall mansion. They'll do anything to keep their murderous secrets hidden within the cliff-side fortress—even if that means getting rid of one meddling ghost hunter.

With the entire town skeptical and scrutinizing her every move, Verity struggles to uncover the century-old mystery behind the house. And when she stumbles upon a very fresh, very dead body, she realizes there’s more to it than she ever imagined. With the help of her sexy cop boyfriend, Ellis, and her ghostly gangster sidekick, Frankie, she braves the overgrown gardens, the desolate family cemetery, and the haunted mansion that have been locked away for generations. But can Verity unearth the truth before she's the next one buried on the deadly grounds?

Highly Entertaining!. Deader Home and Gardens by Angie Fox is the fourth book in The Southern Ghost Hunter Mystery series. Verity Long has given up her graphic design business and has become a ghost hunter. So far, though, she has not gotten any clients. Verity has kept herself busy by helping her boyfriend, Ellis Wyndell decorate his home. They are trying out new curtains when she receives a call from Lee Treadwell. Lee states he needs Verity to come over immediately. Verity is excited to have her first client. She heads home to collect Frankie, her gangster ghost and link to the spiritual world, and heads to Rock Fall manor (Lee’s ancestral home). It turns out that Rock Fall manor is haunted. A tragedy occurred after Jack Treadwell (Lee’s grandfather) brought home artifacts (that were said to be cursed) from an Egyptian tomb in 1910. The whole family died within a short period. Jack, Annabelle (his wife), Charlotte (his young daughter), and Robert (his brother-in-law). The governess survived but she suffered severe burns from a fire. The son survived but only because he was living in New York at the time. Lee has been living in the caretaker’s cottage on the property. He has never entered the manor house. Rock Fall is crumbling and needs major repairs. In order to accomplish that task, he needs to enter the house. Lee needs to find something of value that he can sell. Verity needs to find out why the ghosts are hanging around. In order to accomplish her job, Verity needs Frankie’s help (his power). Frankie, though, is not happy. He dislikes being stuck on her property, and has decided that having fun might free him. He wants to have his friends (his bootlegging, gangster friends who like to shoot off guns, gamble, and drink) around. In exchange for Frankie’s help on the case, Verity agrees to let him have use of the back porch (you know Frankie is going to take advantage). When Verity discovers Egyptian artifacts in the dining room of Rock Fall manor along with Jack’s journals, she calls in her old college professor, Dale Grassino. Dale is excited to read the journals, but he never gets the chance. He dies in the study. Did one of the ghosts kill him? Verity is even more determined to find out what is going on at Rock Fall manor (the ghosts have been very secretive) and get a happy ending for Lee and the ghosts. Deader Home and Gardens was a delight to read. I love the antics of Verity and Frankie (Frankie is quite a character). Ms. Fox does a remarkable job at creating characters that the readers can relate to. The mystery was interesting as well as complicated and had a good twist (I do not believe everyone will see it coming). The ghosts or spirits were a nice mix. Some were scary and creepy while others were friendly and endearing. Deader Homes and Gardens can be read as a stand-alone (but why would you). Angie Fox gives the readers the background information on Verity and her situation (how she ended up with Frankie and dead broke). I do, though, recommend that you read the previous books in the series (they are highly entertaining). I give Deader Homes and Gardens 4.5 out of 5 stars (I did solve the mystery). The ending leaves the reader desiring more. I just wish we did not have to wait months for the next installment!

Must read author. You can't lose with any of these book in this series!!!

Another fun Southern Ghost Hunter Mystery!. Now that her secret is out, Verity Long jumps headfirst into the world of the paranormal by announcing a change in her career focus from graphic designer to "official" ghost hunter, and boy, is her first case a doozy! WIth her ex-almost-brother-in-law boyfriend, Ellis, her pet skunk, Lucy, and her accidental side kick, Frankie, she agrees to help the last surviving member of the Treadwell family resolve the curse that had plagued his family and ancestral home for over a hundred years. Deader Homes and Gardens is the fourth book in Angie Fox's latest series, the Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries. Lee Treadwell enlists Verity to help him with a mystery that haunted his family and their historic home. He is the grandson of Egyptologist Jack Treadwell, the origin of the family troubles, if old rumors are to be believed. Lee needs to reclaim the grand old house that lays tragically vacant on the same property as the small cottage he lives in. Verity calls on her ability to borrow Frankie's energy to see and interact with the ghosts who remain long after their earthly bodies hae gone, to solve this intriguing puzzle, and right some of the wrongs that have infected the Treadwells for over a century. It would be ironic to call this a light-hearted series, in this book alone Verity is dealing with murder committed in the name of overwhelming greed, but these books certainly take a lighter approach than your typical mystery - and that's a good thing. When I read Fox's books (Her Accidental Demon Slayer series is an absolute hoot!), I expect a solid storyline, with well-developed characters, and continuity from book to book, making for a nice, easy read. She has yet to disappoint. Fox's books remain one of my favorite ways to spend an afternoon. Good plots (fleshed out enough to hold your interest, but not so complex that they feel like work), relatable characters that you actually like, and a smooth writing style with just the right amount of details make for the perfect escape. Grab a cup of tea, snuggle under your softest throw, and shut out the daily hustle and bustle with this latest hit from Angie Fox, a book I would highly recommend.

Loved It!. Another fun ghost hunting trip Verity, Ellis, Frank & Lucy the skunk. I love reading this series by Angie Fox- they are a fun escape from reality. This is the 4th book in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries Series but can be read as a stand alone although I would read them in order. The author is so descriptive & the characters are so engaging- you can't help but feel you are right in the midst of all the trouble. Angie Fox has quickly become one of my go to authors. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Deader Homes and Gardens. Simply delightful. Love this series! Can't wait for the next!

Verity Shines. Awesome book! Ms. Fox has written another best seller! Deader Homes and Gardens titles reminds me of a play on a magazine title and I get a chuckle out of it. Verity and Ellis are still together as a couple. Lucy ( who doesn't like Frankie) has a new trick taught to her by Ellis who she loves. Frankie is still causing and getting into trouble. He is having fun with his old gang because of a deal with Verity and her ghost hunting business. This book was mainly about Verity helping Lee and the ghosts on the Treadwell Estate. You have an Egyptian curse, artifacts and mystery all rolled into an excellently written story. Verity is almost killed right in front of Ellis but help comes from another ghost. The mystery is solved and the departed family is reunited. Lots of action, a few chuckles and love. The story ends with a new mystery/ murder to solve. I can't wait for the next book!

Haunted or cursed? The Mystery Of Rock Hill Mansion. Deader Homes and Gardens is the fourth novel in Angie Fox's Southern Ghost Hunter series. Set in Sugarland, Tennessee, a small southern town, we find Verity Long embarking on a new career as ghost hunter after her ability to interact with the ghostly plane became public knowledge in book three, The Haunted Heist. Verity's first client is Lee Treadwell, descendant of Jack Treadwell of Rock Fall, an estate that has stood empty for a hundred years. Jack, an amateur archaeologist, returned with a find that was presumed to have been cursed. Within days of his return, Jack, his wife Annabelle, daughter Charlotte, and brother-in-law Robert all died. The house had had a dark presence ever since. Lee's father, Jack Jr., had been away at school and never returned until it was to be buried in the family plot. Lee had come back at the same time and taken up residence in the gardener's cottage. Now retired, Lee wanted to restore the house and gardens, but wanted to remove the malevolent spirit first. Verity tried to make contact with the help of her ghost gangster, Frankie. But Frankie had an agenda of his own, wanting to reunite with his pals, the South Town Gang, and do so on Verity's property. In negotiating this deal. Frankie kept energizing Verity and sending her off on her own. But in doing so,Verity was at greater risk from ghostly encounters as she could be harmed, even killed, when she was connected to that plane. On her own, or with Lee or boyfriend Deputy Ellis Wydell in tow, Verity began exploring the mansion. The spirit of Robert warned her to stay away, but the ghost of Charlotte kept leaving her clues to return. The journals Jack had kept may have been a clue. To help discern this, Verity called in her old archaeology professor, Dale Grassino. While he was interested in the journals, he was a complete skeptic of ghosts--but not for long. Escaping the grasp of the malevolent spirit on several occasions, finding lost treasure, and reuniting a family torn apart, all become part of Verity's ghost hunting duties. With terrifying moments, some light hearted humor, and the wisecracking Frankie, Verity pulls her first case together in dramatic style. As a fan of this series, I wholeheartedly recommend this book. And if you haven't read the series, and it isn't necessary to do so to enjoy this mystery, I recommend you do read them all!

A Haunting Good Time. I loved this book in the series, it was funny, witty and had a great mystery. Ellis is charming as always, Frankie was a crab and Lucy cute as ever!

Super fun mystery!. I absolutely loved this 4th installment in the Southern Ghost Hunter Mysteries. Verity and Ellis are finally outed as a couple working on their happy ever after; also Verity and her ghost pal Frankie are finally outed as a the dynamic ghost hunting duo! Verity is out in the open in all aspects of her life, and is due some good luck! So when she gets a call from Lee Treadwell owner of the infamous Rock Fall mansion to investigate a possible haunting she’s stoked! Only hold the phone this mansion is supposed to be cursed, and poor Frankie wants no part of this hunt… especially after upon first coming to the grounds they are entertained by a fountain full of doll heads! Frankie does not do creepy dolls… Equipped with her charm, and grace under pressure Verity must convince her probably slightly depressed ghostly pal to help her out, or fail before she’s ever really gotten her new budding ghost hunting business off its legs! If only Frankie will let go of his drama long enough to help a girl out. I mean it’s just a haunting in a huge mansion that is reportedly sporting an Egyptian curse what could possibly go wrong… more importantly the question should probably be what could go right for poor Verity? Honestly I think this was my favorite book in the series so far and I just can’t wait for the next. I loved the whole book; a good mystery, a little romance, and a great plot what more could a girls ask for in a book. There is a little more of a creep factor to this book that in the past three but it’s not that much higher…. Its no where near king level… I found it to be the perfect creep factor for a book like this!

Best one yet in this series!. Verity & her ghost sidekick, Frankie, get their first official ghost hunting job in this book. They are hired to rid a haunted mansion of unwanted ghosts. The family had all died under a possible curse and the house had remained empty. There was a lot of action in this book. Frankie and his mob are back together and taking over Verity's porch. Verity & Ellis are now dating and her pet skunk Lucy is cute as ever. The author kept me guessing all the way to the end of the book on what had really happened to the family in the mansion and the cause of death for the newest victim. The author did an excellent job describing the haunted mansion and the ghosts. It was a perfect scary read for this time of year (Halloween). By far my favorite so far in this series. Can't wait to read the next one and will definitely read this one again!

Loved!. I enjoyed this book so much!!! An excellent read that’s just creepy enough without being too scary. I read it weeks ago and still can’t get it off my mind. I can’t wait to read more by this author.

Deader Homes and Gardens. Throughly enjoyed story and the twists and turns. The banter between Verity and Frankie was so fun. Would recommend highly

Awesome. Not only do Ghosts love Verity but I do too! I absolutely LOVE this series. I look forward to rereading this book time and again. The Southern charm in this series makes me wish I was a Southern Girl

I love this series!!. Angie Fox does it again with the next installment in the Southern Ghost Hunter Series. Verity Long decides to embrace her ability and gets her first job. You see, she can see ghosts with the help of her sidekick, Frankie. The job takes her to Rock Fall mansion where she must uncover a centuries old mystery to bring peace to the house. I seriously had trouble putting this book down! It's fun, exciting and suspenseful. I love the characters. I admire Verity's determination and never give up attitude. Frankie is a great sidekick, even though he's a ghost. Her boyfriend, Ellis, believes in her abilities and is with her through thick and thin. You don't want to miss this series. I'm already looking forward to the next book!

Having a relaxing time with a good book.... Reading though your stories, so hard to put the books down...

So much potential. The plots are great, I love Frankie and Verity but it seems that the author takes the easyway out by repeating sentences and even entire paragraphs in each novel to explain the past. I also feel they are disjointed with some characters disappearing for one or two novels at a time without comment. I want to love these books but I can’t.

Verity and Frankie are awesome!. Let me just start out by saying that I Love Angie Fox's books! I have read every single one and this one did not disappoint! Verity and Frankie are back and they are taking on their hardest ghost hunt yet. Verity has decided to become a ghost hunter and she is called out to her 1st case the old Rockfall Mansion, the previous owners lives ended in such tragedy.. it could have been an evil curse. Verity with Frankie and sweet Ellis try to help the ghosts, however they might just not want any help! This is a great series and a must read!

Deader Homes and Gardens. Great book! Well written and interesting to the end. Looking forward to reading more of her superb tales.

Perfect read from Angie Fox. I love the Southern Ghost Hunter series! Angie Fox's writing is always interesting - I stayed up way too late to read this! It was riveting at times and I always wanted to know "What's happening next!" I love how in this book, she fleshes out some of the 'bit players' from past stories. Some of these ghosts are friends and "business partners?" with Frankie, Verity's 1930's gangster ghost. I love the humor and upbeat attitude of Verity and the spunk she shows. I love her pet skunk, Lucy. Verity's situation is weird with her current boyfriend being the brother of her ex-fiance and I sympathize with Verity and her (possible?) future mother-in-law already seeming to hate her. This book is perfect for right before Halloween, with a haunted and cursed mansion, both softhearted and evil ghosts, mystery, creepy rooms and a perfect ending!

Deader homes and garden. Love the stories of Verity, Frankie, Ellis and Lucy as they solve ghostly mysteries. Can’t wait to read the next story.

This is another fun light read from author Angie Fox.. In this 4th installment of the Southern Ghost Hunter mysteries, Verity takes a different turn. Most of the time Verity’s ghost hunting adventures just sort of happen to her as she is trying to help a friend or family member. This is the first time that she is hired to take care of a ghost. That is a good thing because this situation is more serious than anything that Verity has ever run into. This time even Frankie her gangster ghostly sidekick is worried. The dialogue is fun as to be expected with this series. You learn a bit more about Verity’s past and meet some of the people that she interacted with. I have enjoyed following Verity and Ellis’ romance. While it is helpful to have read the other books in the Southern Ghost Hunter series this book can be enjoyed on it’s own.

Another great one from Angie Fox!. Angie Fox does it again! This was an amazing quick read, that had everything I usually want in a book series, humor, mystery, romance, and hijinks. I may have to add snarky ghosts and lovable skunks to my future list. Frankie is still stuck to Verity's property, but instead of just whining about it, (there's plenty of whining too) he's trying to make the best of it with the South Town Gang, of course with hilarious and annoying (to at least Verity) outcomes. The ghosts that Verity encounters in this book are like none she's ever faced before, will she be able to help Lee reclaim his ancestral home, or will these ghosts prove to Verity that ghost hunting is for the birds. Highly recommended.
