Thirteen Days in Milan by Jack Erickson Book Summary

Sylvia de Matteo, an American single mother, is taken hostage by terrorists during a political assassination at Stazione Centrale, Milan's train station. She is seized at gunpoint and thrown into the back of a van.

Moments later, a Paris-bound train with Sylvia's fiancé and ten-year-old daughter aboard departs Centrale without Sylvia. The terrorists drive Sylvia to a warehouse where she is imprisoned in a cell.

When the terrorists discover Sylvia's father is a wealthy Wall Street investment banker, they demand a ransom for her safe release.

Thirteen Days in Milan. This book was hard to read at times, too many typos, missing words/sentences and words misplaced.

Good story; Bad editing. I really like the book, story and intrigue. Many surprises in store for the reader. My complaint with the e-book was the editing or proofreading. There are many, many errors in the book where sentence ending words were transposed elsewhere in the paragraph or on the page. Sentences would have a “return” in the middle to create a new paragraph. It seemed that just when the plot was getting good, an error happened and I would have to search to complete a sentence. It was very bizarre…but a great story.

Could not continue reading…. Could not get far in this one due to the many errors, not just spelling ad grammar, parts of sentences were missing and then found in on next page or two. The descriptions of people and places were too wordy. The history was not fully explained and just made it are to understand. This probably one of 20 books that I have started but would not finish because it was so bad in over 50 years of reading thousands of books.

Needs editing. This book needs editing. End of sentences are missing and appear in the next paragraph in the middle of a sentence. It’s almost impossible to read!

Thirteen days in Milan. Well researched and professionally written book.

Ebook Failure. There are two dimensions to this book; on the whole it is an engaging story but I found the intermittent and inconsistent use of Italian dialogue, with English translations in brackets, an unnecessary distraction. However, my chief complaint is the appalling formatting of the book. To paraphrase an expression that will be familiar to U.K. readers, all the right words were there but not necessarily in the right order. Add to this a tendency to merge multiple words without spaces, insert spaces in single words and amalgamate dialogue so that character conversations become a muddle. The combination of these flaws makes reading this book a challenge. It is very unusual to encounter a book with 400 pages of formatting errors and disappointing that the publisher has not seen fit to correct these.

THIRTEEN DAYS IN MILAN. I enjoyed reading this book, a good mix of storyline and drama. Right up my street. Hope you read and enjoy too.

Reasonable story but vey poor editing with big gaps making reading difficult. Editing very poor making reading diffcult

Thirteen Days in Milan. I wanted to quit the book straight away, as words were missing at the end of paragraphs, but would then appear a few paragraphs along! Who proof reads your books? Not once or twice but a hundred times!! Luckily I persevered with the inconsistencies, and the read turned out to be great!

Disjointed sentences. Good story but sentences are disjointed and all over the place. Not sure why it wasn’t proof read before publishing.

Very poor proof reading. Words missing...parts of sentences in wrong places etc.

Thirteen Days in Milan. Only read about one quarter of the book. So many grammar and spelling mistakes it was annoying. Author needs to try again.
