Awsome read!!. This book had me enamored from the first few chapters. The lead female is awsome, she's strong, smart, inquisitive and oh so innocent. The male lead is brooding, charismatic, ruthless all at the same time. The two of them together makes this book great between the push and pull of there true feeling. Ups and downs, secrets exposed and secrets kept hidden make u understand why Gabriel is the way he is. But he does want Avery for sure to be his at any cost.

Dark and Sexy. The Pawn is a dark and sexy new adult romance with characters and a story that will have you struggling to decide how you're truly feeling towards them. Skye Warren's writing will make you unable to step away from Avery and Gabriel. I can't wait to unravel more of the mystery behind Gabriel Miller in The Knight.

Great book. This book left me in suspense. I could not wait to read the next book to find out what happens to Avery and Gabriel.

Edit the book information. “THE PAWN is a full length...” NO IT IS NOT. It’s actually a three part series. Information needs to be edited to reflect that. Can seem inconsequential unless you’re someone who doesn’t like series or someone who has a book/time budget that doesn’t include the price/readingtime, of book 2 & 3.

The Game. I just finished my first Skye Warren book THE PAWN, and I cannot wait for Book 2~THE KNIGHT to be released so I can continue to follow gravel and Avery's game of chess! Avery had a rude awakening due to her father's falling from society, which of course left a MAJOR black mark on their family name. To find out what happened and how Gabriel becomes involved you'll have to read THE PAWN. Due to explicit sexual content and adult language this novel is recommended for readers 18 and older. Great series. If you haven’t read Skye start with this series. I completed the entire series on the free Galatea app. Hooked!

wow. I loved this book and can't wait for the Knight to be released. this was my first Skye Warren book and it won't be my last. Avery is strong and still gullible. Gabriel and she do have a push and pull. wonderful and thank you

So We’ll Written. This one sucked me in, not only with the story but the writing. It’s rare to find well written romance, mystery, and thrill together in this way. Definitely going to read the entire series.

Let the games begin. This story is so different from what I've read. I honestly don't know what to think. I was sucked in from the start. The mystery. The games. Avery is so innocent. With life, with herself. I feel bad that she never knew what the world could be. Gabriel better redeem himself. I'm confused as to what to make of him. Should I like him? Should I think he's a monster? We all want that cold hearted man to change. I can't wait to see what happens in The Knight! Checkmate indeed!

Hot!. This is a delicious story with a sexy woman who is forced to become a victim of control. What a ride!

Wow. I just finished The Pawn and wow I think I have a love/hate feeling for this book. I'm hate love Gabriel. You see glimpses of tenderness but, then he strikes. I hate/love Avery too! She's so innocent to fall for his tenderness then, when he strikes she looses! Checkmate is right! I can't wait to read the next book in this series. This book had me all tied up in emotion! I highly recommend it!

Checkmate. This book was intoxicating, darkly erotic, and disturbingly addicting. I could not put this down. I fell deep into a rabbit hole of the author's twisted games and could not (and did not want to) escape. But the book and join the game. You won't regret it if you like dark reads.

Dark twisted games. Avery is a princess girl that come from money, but then her father loses all the money and Avery needs money for his medical care and to save their home. How will Avery raise the money? By auctioning her virginity of course to the highest bidder and how is the highest bidder? Gabriel Miller,he knows what he wants from his "little virgin" a month to call her his,to own her, but will Avery allow him to own her at all, because she thinks she hates him but she wants him too,she can't deny she is attracted to him. Who will win this game can the pawn become the the queen or will king make his move? I love this dark twisted tale of who will claim the power, because we all know power is a dangerous ploy to play for and which player will make it to the end to get their prize or will the game change?

Great story. I really loved the backstory of this book and what it’s all about. I loved the theme of Chess throughout the book and how that played in to tell the story. I loved Gabriel’s and Avery’s interaction and chemistry from the get go. It’s a good story that ends on a cliffhanger making you want to find out what happens next...

Addictive.... This book was so amazing to read. I immediately bought the following two books in the series and had them all read in two days!! I just couldn’t get enough of Avery (little virgin)James & Gabriel Miller. If you love something deep and dark with plenty twists and turns and a little romance then this is your book. The Pawn. This is a dark and captivating tale. Avery seems to have the world and her feet then her world falls apart. Gabriel Miller is dangerously powerful but will he be her downfall or her salvation? This story is so well written and flows so freely you don't want to stop reading, you just want to know how it will end.

Checkmate!. I love a book that I can’t put down! Not only am I excited to continue reading this series, I will also be hunting down more books from Skye Warren.

Breathtaking and gritty. You get a certain idea of a book in your head from reading the blurb, so of course I knew kind of what to expect... But the delivery was something else on this one. I always feel like I over-gush when I read books by Skye Warren, but I'm genuinely blown away each and every time. Avery is broke and desperate with no options left until she goes to see a loan shark and gets an offer to auction off her virginity instead. We meet Gabriel early on and there should be nothing remotely redeeming about him, but in true dark romance style, of course we're drawn to him. He's dark, feral, mysterious and he offers crumbs of kindness that Avery so desperately craves. I loved the raw honesty between the characters. I think ultimately it made me feel that much more sharply the moment when Avery, after feeling like she may have finally figured things out, gets the rug ripped out from under her all over again. And the surprise cameo from past Stripped characters was so cool. I'm a bit sad to have to wait until January to have some answers, but the hangover was worth it. **ARC provided in exchange for an honest review**
