最近、学校英語の教材や教授法がとてもよくなり2,3語の会話なら今や誰でも話せるようになっています。「話せな～い」という人の大部分は実は話せないのではなく話さないだけなのだと思います。一方、いろいろの分野で私はもう英語ペラペラと自負する人も現れ始めています。そしてその方たちの中には、もうワンステップアップのためにはやはり英文法と思い始めている人たちもいます。確かに単語力はパワーを発音は美しい衣装を身につけさせてくれますが、あなたの英語に「切れ味」を加味してくれるのは文法です。
「これでどうだっ、英文法!」は、6ユニット・63課からなり、日常よく使われる英語表現の学習を通して自然に英語のしくみを会得するようになっています。6ユニットにまとめられたこの学習プログラムの特徴は一言でいえば、名詞と動詞、形容詞と副詞の区別からなる基本4品詞の学習で、以下のような構成となっています。
Unit 1 名詞、形容詞+名詞、動詞、動詞+副詞
Unit 2 形容詞+名詞+動詞+副詞からなる文、現在形と過去形
Unit 3 助動詞、完了形、進行形、受身形など動詞を膨らます工夫
Unit 4 否定文、疑問文など文を膨らます工夫
Unit 5 to と -ingを使って動詞を名詞、副詞、形容詞に変える工夫
Unit 6 that、because、whichなどを使って文を名詞、副詞、形容詞に変える工夫
また、63課はそれぞれ以下のような構成となっています。
(1) 本文(タイトル・イラスト・Small Talk、解説)→ (2) 理解確認問題 → (3) 例文聞き流し
また、この教材はもともと大学初年次生のために開発されたもので、同時に開発された大場のRLGテスト(大場昌也HP参照)で( http://dropinat.net/ )、Rテスト20点以上、Gテスト50点以下の人に是非取り組んでいただきたい教材です。
