Once Upon A Time by Shulist, Joseph Book Summary

The magazine “Once Upon a Time…” is a collection of student essays produced by the 8th period junior English class of Korea International School in Jeju. Inspired by Mr. Shulist’s idea, the whole production began during the first week of September and took an entire month to come to a clean end. 
  During the process, the students divided into four teams, responsible for 4 different roles: the editorial, the publication, the design, and the copywriting. The overall theme the students focused on while writing their essays was past memories; more specifically, memories students’ parents had when they were young. Those old time memories were brought to the students in forms of photographs and interviews, and based on their interpretations of these resources, students were able to make connections between their parents and themselves.
  By understanding the connections and differences between the parents and themselves, students also managed to deeply understand the correlations between the past and the present. What you are about to read is not just a collection of student writing, but a deep contemplation about Korea’s past and present, between then and now.
