Killing England by Bill O'Reilly & Martin Dugard Book Summary

The Revolutionary War as never told before.

This breathtaking installment in Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard’s mega-bestselling Killing series transports readers to the most important era in our nation’s history: the Revolutionary War. Told through the eyes of George Washington, Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, and Great Britain’s King George III, Killing England chronicles the path to independence in gripping detail, taking the reader from the battlefields of America to the royal courts of Europe.

What started as protest and unrest in the colonies soon escalated to a world war with devastating casualties. O’Reilly and Dugard recreate the war’s landmark battles, including Bunker Hill, Long Island, Saratoga, and Yorktown, revealing the savagery of hand-to-hand combat and the often brutal conditions under which these brave American soldiers lived and fought. Also here is the reckless treachery of Benedict Arnold and the daring guerrilla tactics of the “Swamp Fox” Frances Marion.

A must read, Killing England reminds one and all how the course of history can be changed through the courage and determination of those intent on doing the impossible.

All Hail Kings O’Reilly and Dugard!. America’s and Our Founding Father’s History is Already Amazing so to Have O’Reilly and Dugard Give Their Perspective is Pert Near Divine. An Absolute Must Read.

Gen. Washington the man.. Great read, learned a lot about this great country that was never taught in my many years of schooling. Would have like to have had a little more back story leading up to the British ruling the USA, like the war with the Dutch.

Fascinating!. This was a fascinating, book that you will have to pry yourself from, if you want to keep commitments (like going to work, ha ha). This book is a little different because I am used to copious footnotes and references in history books, while this one is written more like a novel. There are notes on each chapter in the back of the book, which add a little more detail. On the other hand, I would appreciate it if those who pan the book would explain WHY they did so. To say it is “inaccurate” without giving verifiable facts, makes me wonder if they are writers for CNN 😱.

Great book!. Learned more than I did from previous books on the subject. Didn’t want it to end. Looking forward to the next book!

Outstanding. I’ve listened to the audiotape twice. Great stories, personal intrigue, great overview of important battles.

Killing England. Couldn’t put it down!!

Is there anyone Bil hasn’t killed... inaccurately and with a ton of polemics?

Faux News in Book Form. o'Reilly has laughed all the way to the bank with his so called history books. He assumes and makes conclusions based on no historical evidence for many of the pages found within. Skip it.

Excellent Read!. If you enjoy the Colonial revolutionary. Of America, then you will absolutely love this book!

Amazing. This should be required reading for all history classes in the US.

Fantastic!. Couldn't put it down.

Washington. Excellent! Killing Kennedy next.

Excellent book series. The Killing.. books are all excellent - including well-researched info not usually found in most “history” books!

bad bad bad. i love england F YOU AMERICA WE COULD HAVE DESTROYED YOU IF YOU GUYS DIDNT BRAKE THE RULES!!! AND YES THERE ARE RULES IN WAR SEARCH IT UP!!!

Killing England. Killing England by Bill O’Reilly and Martin Dugard should be read by every American. The book places you in the thick of the action to from the signing of the Declaration Of Independence, to the frigid weather of Valley Forge, and finally the victory at Yorktown, Virginia. The book has special significance for me because I live in Central Virginia not far from Monticello. A fantastic read. It’s book that you wish did not end.

The inside story. Well written, quick moving. Very good story of the weaknesses and strengths of our founders. Imperfections Included.

Killing England. Very informative and well done. Completed in typical “Killing” style.

NO ONE ASKED YOU POSTMAN PAT. Sorry but did you get the joke because postman pat is a British show No offense but we kicked your ass Of course I’m talking about the guy that said f u America

Killing England. Great read

Excellent. This was an excellent read bringing history very much closer!

Great quick read that will explain our birth as a nation. An excellent book to start an exploration of how we came to be as a nation. Written with the flair of a novel you can not put down. Both highly entertaining and informative.

Charging for a sample is bad business. Charging people to read a sample of the “thug” cursed language is like charging a potential buyer for a look at the outside of the new car they plan to buy. Maybe one recipe or something would be worth $3 but even that seems like a rip off. I planned to buy this book but after being charged for reading through trashy language, I will find my recipes elsewhere.

Killing England. Bill O Reilly is America’s premier historian and he doesn’t disappoint here. A page turner!

Boo. This guy has a skewed view of history

Killing england. Let’s go America no one likes england they were horrible to the colonists with all of the taxes

Killing England. Overall interesting. However, since this book is titled “killing England” and not The American Revolution: it would have been nice if more attention could have been given to the other factors contributing to England’s lost of international standing.

The best of the Killing Series!. Great book, read it twice. I have it in hard back, signed by Mr O’Reilly. Everyone should read this book, it’s worth it.

Killing England. Very well written, It keeps you on the edge of your seat and at times hard to put the book down. A abundance of History is included in all the pages.I give it 5 Stars.

Amazing. Great book just like the rest of “The Killing” series. It is amazing to read the in depth story of everything that went in to forming this great nation. It is very evident that these founding fathers would be appalled at the clown show currently occupying the White House, but at least they did the hard work initially. This book brings great hope that we can one day get back to the amazing country we were at its founding.

Fantastically Written - engrossing. It is nothing like a boring textbook An engrossing novel and learn at the same time Loved it

History Buff Must. Another must read for all history buffs!

Excellent Book, Brought the Revolutionary WarAlive. My first read of a “killing series” book, and it is excellent. A historian myself, I wanted to see how the book compared, especially on George Washington, to other historical renditions—it was excellent. In fact, I learned some new facts by reading this book, both on Washington, but also on the Revolution itself. For that, I am grateful. A good and fast read for all!

Great Historical Summary. This book will leave you wanting to delve deeper into each figure and action into this great undertaking. It summarizes the entire revolution in one book and is easy entertaining reading for history lovers and casual readers alike

To the person that f-ed American…. When fighting for ones life, it’s the cheaters that live longest. 😉
