Masterwork of horror. From the moment I started reading, I couldn’t put the book down. So incredibly well written and the most intense and messed up story I’ve ever heard in my life. Very original and truly terrifying. Loved it so much.

This book is crazy. Honestly until I read this book, my favorite book was hatchet. I never even liked horror stories. This book was gory and I almost didn’t make it through, but about chapter 4 I was so sunk into this book I read the entire thing in one sitting. I was sucked into it like a black hole. Took my 6 hours. 10/10 will definitely buy on paperback soon.

I wish I could give 10 stars!. I’ve read this book 3 times. It just gets better with each read. You feel as though you are in this place, feeling the struggles and the horror at times! I’m a huge fan of this book! I lost my dad to suicide and my mind wondered a lot of things. I actually love the setting and the hardships and the strong will to make it through with the woman he loved. Amazing read!!!

Amazing!. This book was recommended to me. I picked it up and read it non-stop. There were some very grim and intense moments. Amazing imagery. Definitely going to check out Witherow’s other works.

Fascinating concept - Could have been done better. I really enjoyed this book. I was able to read it in a day. If you are here because of The Black Farm’s short story. It is worth the read for $5. I would encourage everyone who is into this theme to try it. Pros - The concept was original. I found the religious themes refreshing. This version of purgatory was vivid and believable. The concept and lore is what saves this book and makes it an interesting read. The sex, violence, and horror was vivid. If you’re into adult books. I felt satisfied after reading the book. It held up for the most part compared to the short story. Cons - The characters weren’t great. I found myself eagerly waiting conflict as they talked. I expected the main character to be more of an observer than Hero. When he started adventuring; It added to the instability of the lore. The lore was not fully executed. All characters felt as if they were regular English speakers from the last 10 years. The whole world was underdeveloped. This was the most disappointing aspect. As your reading this book think about how the world is almost empty even for the framework that the author gave. My biggest pet peeve about this novel. Overall a great read. It was worth the $5, which is why it got 4 stars instead of 3. It satisfied my curiosity of this universe.

Facebook brought me here!!. I was on Facebook one note and I came upon a like summary of it. I thought it was good so I had no choice but to read the whole book because I was so into it but when I tell u I wasn’t disappointed I mean that !!! Everything I read I imagined it in my had so clear.

Hard to put down. This book is exactly what i’ve been looking for in disturbing novels. If you are like me and want something completely different and nasty then this is for you. The ending felt rushed that’s my only reason for 4 stars. Great read!

Best book I’ve read in a while. If you’ve been listening to the No Sleep Podcast and heard the story of the Black Farm, this book will not disappoint you at all. I started reading this book about two days ago and found that I could not part with it. I was at the edge of my bed reading certain parts, my heart racing. It took a lot of control to not read ahead to find out what happens next. I have definitely been converted to a fan of horror books. I purchased another book from Elias Witherow because I crave to see what else his amazing mind can come up with. Worth every penny. I just wish I could forget everything I just read so that I can read it all over again with surprise.

Amazingly Horrific. This book is not for the faint of heart. Its gruesomeness and relentlessness touches not only the characters within the book but also the reader in ways not touched by the more mainstream horror genera. This man is truly breathing a wretched new breath into horror. A breath that could possibly change the genera for good.

Gruesomely Good!. I was so excited to read this book after I’d heard “Feed the Pig” on the NoSleep Podcast! It definitely lives up to its expectations and is worth the money! Lots of surprising twists and turns that keep the reader on edge throughout the whole book!! Definitely deserves a full 5 stars! :)

Excellent. Great read

Mind Blowing. Almost immediately the book had me gripped. I couldn’t put it down. Full of gore and unthinkable scenarios. Absolutely terrifying! Loved this book and I hope that there will be more about the black farm!

Well..that shocked me. I love a good horror, but this was so good it genuinely almost made me sick. Not for the faint hearted or weak stomachs!

Visceral and Disturbing. I don't usually write reviews, but it would be a crime to not comment on the impact this novel had on me... I have NEVER read anything so immersive and dark. Witherow's descriptive style pulled me in, and consumed me. More then once, I found myself reading through these pages, and muttering to myself, "Jesus..." or, "Oh My God...". If you are a fan of the horror genre, you OWE it to yourself to read this book.
