Another amazing story by Barbara Freethy!. This was the second story in Barbara Freethy’s Off The Grid series and it did not disappoint! Just as in the first book, I was captivated with this story within the first few sentences. This was the story of Bree Adams, an FBI agent in NYC working a case on a missing child, and Nathan Bishop, who works in construction in Chicago. Bree and Nathan had a past together when they were kids that not many knew about. When Bree left Chicago 10 years earlier, with Nathan’s help, she swore she would never go back. But a missing child case in Chicago had her leaving her FBI bureau in NYC to help find 10 year old Haylee. What she didn’t know was that Haylee’s best friend Grace, who was the last person to see her before being abducted, was Nathan’s niece. When she knocks on the door of Grace’s house to try to get more information on Haylee’s disappearance, Nathan answers the door. All the events that occurred after he leaves Bree into the house had me sitting on the edge of my seat! Reckless Whisper has it all. Suspense, drama, chemistry, and a very happy ending. There are a few questions left unanswered that I’m hoping will be answered in the next book. Barbara has perfected the art of storytelling. She knows how to tell you enough about a character to make you feel like you really know them, and she tells a story that draws you into the situations and makes you feel what the characters would be feeling, without going into so much detail that you want to just skim over some sections. You hang on EVERY WORD!!! I received an ARC of this story in exchange for an honest review. I highly recommend Reckless Whisper.

Loved it!. I was so excited to read this book and it didn’t disappoint! This story is about Bree, an FBI agent who works on missing children cases. When she is called back to Chicago to look for a missing little girl named Hayley, she finds out she has an interesting link to her. Nathan, an old friend of Bree’s helps her with the case and the two become a united force in this awesome story filled with mystery, love and sacrifice! Grab a cup of coffee and sit down with this great book by Barbara Freethy!

Love prevails.. So much in this book and you can not put it down. FBI agent Bree and a childhood that was not healthy one comes home to find a missing child that turns out to be hers from 10 years ago that she gave up for adoption. Nathan a,ways loved her from age 13 but now helps her find Hayley his niece. Together they rekindle the love and end of together.

Wonderful Romantic Suspense Story!. From the first page to the last, I couldn’t put this book down! I loved Bree, an FBI agent who specializes in finding kidnapped children. Her next case brings her back to her childhood neighborhood, former friends and and all the bad memories she left behind. The interaction between the characters is great , the story has suspense, love and family! This story made me cry! I highly recommended this book!

Exciting from start to finish. You will love Reckless Whisper. From the first sentence of the book until you end, you are on a suspense filled ride. I loved it and couldn’t put it down. Bree is an FBI agent who specialty is finding kidnapped children. She is sent to Chicago, where she grew up to help out on the kidnapping of a little girl. Bree grew up in Chicago and had vowed never to return. She has horrible memories of her life in the windy city and a huge secret from living there. In Chicago she meets up with an old childhood friend, Nathan, who helps her try to find the kidnapped little girl. He is the only one that knows her secret. Together they must return to their past in search of clues for finding the little girl. This is such a good book from start to finish. Highly recommend it.

Wow....phenomenal. Reckless Whisper....wow, where do I begin. This was the second book in the Off the Grid trilogy and it was ever so as awesome as the first. This book did not disappoint. I loved the story of Bree and Nathan, I felt like they were someone I knew personally. This was such a fast paced novel. It grabs you at the beginning and doesn’t let you go. Barbara Freethy has such an awesome way of grabbing the reader and pulling them into the life of the story. What a great escape it was. Thanks Barbara for yet another phenomenal read. Can’t wait for book 3.

Must read. Reckless Whisper is the second book in the FBI series and continues in the same spell binding story telling as the first story Perilous Trust. Bree Adams and Nathan Bishop are very intriguing characters who the reader will want to get to know more and better understand their life choices as their secrets are revealed. We are left with some unanswered questions which I hope are revealed in Wyatt’s story Desperate Play. The story will keep the reader’s interest till the very end - want to keep reading till all is solved. Another winner📖👍.

Another hit. This book had it all: suspense, mystery and a little romance. Loved all the characters in this second book. This one had me guessing right to the very end, which I love. I thought I had it figured out, but it had that surprise which had you say “ah ha”. Love the way Barbara’s writing brings her characters to life. I felt like I knew what each person looked like, I can picture the expressions, which I think is a great talent. This is part two of the series, with more to come, but it can be read as a stand-alone, although if you haven’t read the first I highly suggest you do, you won’t be sorry. I wanted to make this book last, but couldn’t do it, read it in two days, now I have to wait for the next one. Will keep you smiling, laughing, crying, cringing. Keeps you drawn in right from page one to the very end. Go ahead and read it, you won’t be sorry. 5+ stars for sure.

Excellent read. This series is my favorite by Barbara Freethy. Of the two books in this series it is the top read, although Perilous Trust is a close second. An excellent story, intrigue, mystery and romance. There are a few hanging questions that hopefully will be answered as the series progresses. Well worth the time spent.

Great book!. This was a great story! I was hooked from the first page. The story was full of intrigue and suspense making it hard to put down. The main characters were very likable and fun even with the seriousness of the story. It was good to see they were able to overcome the obstacles of their youth. Although there wasn’t too much involvement of characters from the previous book, it’s always fun to read about what they are doing. I’m anxious to see what Wyatt’s story will be. I’m looking forward to that next book in the series.

Reckless Whisper. Reckless Whisper is the second book in Barbara Freethy’s FBI Off the Grid series and it is excellent. Five year FBI agent Bree Adams has been working on several children’s kidnapping cases in New York, when a seemingly connected kidnapping occurs in her hometown, Chicago. The bureau sends her there to assist. Bree goes hoping that she can avoid areas and people she knew there before. Readers can guess that won’t happen, but I refuse to give details about what memories dredged up and by whom. Just buy the book and prepare for a long night if you don’t finish before bedtime. The author is a master at creating well defined characters and well written mysteries that immediately grab ones’ interest and keep readers turning pages. I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend!

I wanted to love this book. I didn’t like this book nearly as much as the first in the series. Lots of dry spots and it felt like the same exact story with different characters.

Great Read!!. I love this series! So many twists and turns, romance and a strong friendship. I can’t wait for the next!

Past Catches Up To The Present. Another hit for Barbara Freethy. I always wait impatiently for her next novel to be released! While this is the second in the Off the Grid: FBI Series, it can easily be read as a standalone book. Barbara is successful in drawing you into the suspense from the very start of the book. When Bree, an FBI agent that works in the division that helps with child kidnappings, gets requested to go to Chicago to assist in a kidnapping case, she gets pulled into reliving her past of growing up in Chicago. Nathan is part of that past, and he fights getting involved with Bree in helping find the kidnapped girl. Interesting to see how Nathan and Bree each have different memories from growing up together. Loved the connection they have. In this book, we get to see how Bree became the FBI agent she is and her background. Allow time to read, because once you start it will be hard to put the book down. Leaves you guessing throughout the book as to who is responsible for the kidnapping and how it will end.

Reckless Whisper. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Twists and turns kept me reading until the wee hours of the morning. Excellent character development and plot. I will be reading other books in the series

This is an emotional look not only because of children, Barbara has gotten into the emotional side of Bree. The plot flows, tense, haunting, you feel what is going on with Bree. I love this new series, you remember the stories, and the characters, readers won’t be disappointed by this great plot. Given ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion.

The Chicago kidnapping puts her back in touch with childhood friend Nathan Bishop. As this intense story unfolds so does the story of their past. Barbara Freethy reveals the bits and pieces of the while weaving in the relationship that Bree and Nathan develop now. Barbara Freethy excels at romantic mystery and this book is riveting.

Reckless Whisper. A gripping thriller and romance all rolled into one great book. Lured to Chicago by a missing child case, FBI Agent Bree Adams returns to her old stomping grounds where she lived as a young girl. The information she receives makes this case personal as she meets with a witness whose uncle was her high school crush. The thrill of chasing the kidnapper combined with the heat of their attraction makes for a great read.. Another wonderful book by Barbara Freethy, and a credit to her for the series. A must read book.

Barbara Freethy has pulled another one out of the hat. You are not going you put this down once you start it. Bree Adams is a FBI Agent and is working in New York Agency in the CARD (Critical Action Response Detail) division. They help law enforcement find endangered children. She is working on a case for a serial killer/kidnapper that has been abducting 10-year-old girls and leaving a white rose. Bree receives a call from her boss and she has to head to Chicago where an another 10-year-old girl has been taken and a white rose was left. Bree grew up in Chicago and has not been back there since she escaped 10 years prior. Bree has kept some secrets for the past 10 years that she does not want anyone to know about. On returning to Chicago Bree goes to interview the only witness to the kidnapping. When the door opens it is her old friend Nathan Bishop behind the door, it is his sister Josie’s daughter that was the witness. Nathan helped Bree escape Chicago back when she was a teenager. He knows all her secrets. Their friendship ignites and the romance starts to hit the pages. You find yourself hooked on their relationship and want the HEA for them. There are so many twist and turns is this book it will keep you guessing right till the end. Oh, by the way you better hold on as you are in for one hell of a ride. I have to admit that I Did not work out the kidnapper until it was there in black and white. I usually work it out sooner but Barbara did a great job of hiding clues right in front of us. Now all I can say is Barbara has drawn me into this series and I am anxiously awaiting the next book. Which is Desperate Play.
