From Daniel Silva, the #1 New York Times–bestselling author, comes a modern masterpiece of espionage, love, and betrayal

She was his best-kept secret …

In an isolated village in the mountains of Andalusia, a mysterious Frenchwoman begins work on a dangerous memoir. It is the story of a man she once loved in the Beirut of old, and a child taken from her in treason’s name. The woman is the keeper of the Kremlin’s most closely guarded secret. Long ago, the KGB inserted a mole into the heart of the West—a mole who stands on the doorstep of ultimate power.

Only one man can unravel the conspiracy: Gabriel Allon, the legendary art restorer and assassin who serves as the chief of Israel’s vaunted secret intelligence service. Gabriel has battled the dark forces of the new Russia before, at great personal cost. Now he and the Russians will engage in a final epic showdown, with the fate of the postwar global order hanging in the balance.

Gabriel is lured into the hunt for the traitor after his most important asset inside Russian intelligence is brutally assassinated while trying to defect in Vienna. His quest for the truth will lead him backward in time, to the twentieth century’s greatest act of treason, and, finally, to a spellbinding climax along the banks of the Potomac River outside Washington that will leave readers breathless.

Fast as a bullet, hauntingly beautiful, and filled with stunning double-crosses and twists of plot, The Other Woman is a tour de force that proves once again that “of all those writing spy novels today, Daniel Silva is quite simply the best” (Kansas City Star).

Another excellent installment. As always I really enjoyed reading this

Disappointing. I had so looked forward to reading this latest Gabriel Allon adventure but I am sorry to say I am disappointed. I was not as captivated by this book as I have been by the other ones in this series. I was rather bored and this book is, for me, a disappointment. I do not understand the high praise a lot of the other reviewers gave. Perhaps my expectations were too high.

The Other Woman. I enjoyed this book!!! ...will there be a sequel?

The Other Woman. Excellent read! Having read all of The Gabriel Allon books thus far, I think I can truly say it is one of the best ( and I have loved each and every one!). Daniel Silva has created a living, breathing character and his entourage is a delight to encounter in each and every book. I await the next in the series.

The Other Women. I love Daniel Silva’s work, but this one was a bit tedious and sometimes hard to follow. Usually I can finish a Silva in two to three days. The Other Women took three weeks. I did love Madam Bettencourt, however. So charming and yet so sly. Looking forward to next years work. Still and always a fan of Gabriel Allon.

Disappointing. I have loved this series. Found this lacking substance and action.

The Other Woman. Daniel Silva does a great deal of research for his books and they are always entertaining and exciting.

The Other Woman. Excellent mystery with accurate description of a major historical event. Fast read with twists that are not confusing. Tim, licensed psychologist

The Other Woman. Excellent read. Enjoyed every chapter.

Hi unjusth Lou uh. Kind and öucojj Kuhn up ethe iu Kiki was the ees tsunami today

Disappointing. Too much social media, not enough fidelity to flow of Gabriel’s life.

The Other Woman. Fantastic. Couldn't put it down.

Big Bummer!. Looked forward to reading Daniel Silva’s new book but was totally disappointed with the weak plot and slow pace. It was so predictable, even the jabs that Silva took at the U.S. President. Not sure I’ll bother buying his next book.

Another Great Thriller. Daniel Silva’s books are always hard to put down, and this one is no exception. The book starts with a Russian intelligence officer being coerced into being an informant for Israel and the West, code name Heathcliff. When Heathcliff passes some intelligence that will make it apparent to the Russians that he’s passing secrets he needs to be extracted and given asylum. The Israelis will handle the exfiltration operation, and the British will give him asylum as they were a prime beneficiary of the information he passed on. It should be a simple operation, but a Russian assassin gets to the defector first and kills him. There is a mole somewhere in Israeli or British intelligence giving information to the Russians - that’s how they knew where and when the operation would take place. Not only have the Russians killed the asset, but they’ve cleverly found a way to cast suspicion on Gabriel Allen, the head of Israeli intelligence, for the murder. This starts a series of events that links the present to a spy scandal from the 1950s. Gabriel Allen and his team set out to uncover the identity of the mole and the twists and turns getting to the solution are fascinating. In addition to being a great spy story, the interplay and relationships between the familiar players from all 18 books in the Gabriel Allen series is interesting as always. In this book one of Gabriel’s best professional relationships falls victim to events. Because Daniel Silva’s books are so tied to current events, they seem to be both fiction and non-fiction at the same time. They always leave me feeling both very worried and yet somewhat hopeful. They’re also the only novels where my first thought upon finishing is that I want to reread the book to catch anything I may have missed the first time. If you’re a newcomer to the series, this can be read as a stand-alone but I highly recommend starting from the first book of the series (The Kill Artist) and working forward. You’ll get to know and love the series regulars and see them evolve. This is another great book in a great series. This review is based on a complimentary pre-release copy, but that said, I liked the book so much that I purchased an ebook copy to keep in my library and reread - in fact, I’m doing that now! :D

The Other Woman. I’m a big fan of Silva’s work. But this one was disappointing.

The Other Woman. Hate to say it but this one seemed phoned in. Lots and lots of detail about places but not much action. Predictable plot and ending wasn't worth plodding through all the filler detail.

The Other Women. Good book with lots of action and a somewhat surprising ending. Silva books are all well written but the spy plots do not vary over his many books.

The Other Woman. One of his best. The places, characters and scenes beg to be introduced in a teleplay or motion picture. Silva’s SC,eyes are gloriously specific and to recreate this character would be a great feat. Hopefully, this will come to pass. Mr Silva, good luck on your next Gabriel Allon novel, because this one will be hard to beat.

Veblin. A pretty unexciting book. Go somewhere, talk. Go somewhere else, plot. Go another place, decide. Go once more to a place, talk. At least there is not Jewish propaganda for a change. And no restoring of altarpieces while thinking of past encounters. A shallow book, good for bring on naps.

Another wonderful book from Daniel Silvia. Wordy, dense, dark and a slow read, it is a long slow burn to the end. Well researched, contemporary, and important, it felt rather profound and timely. Keep them coming Daniel!

Another great one. He did it again.

Always enjoyable. Eagerly await the next adventure.

Gabriel is Aging Gracefully. Daniel Silva is my most favorite author. I have read every book and I love the way he is aging Gabriel, but still keeping him active. Can’t wait for the next book!

Good as always. Good as always

The other woman. Fun read

The Other Woman. As always with Silva, great plot and can’t put down intrigue

The Other Women. Well written, page turner.

The Other Woman. Implausible but an intoxicating read. Well paced but patient enough in little details to make the real story of Kim Philby come alive. Ideological betrayal motivation that Overcame lust, money and other reasons for selling others down the river!

The other woman. A previous review spoke of this book being critical of our current president. Almost did not buy it. Though it touches on being critical, it is not blatant. Mr. Silvia is a most talented writer. This book will require you to think and follow the pages and chapters. Well done Mr. Silvia Please do not get political and keep writing solid, well scripted books.

The Other Woman. Best Gabriel Allon Ever..!!!

A 13 page sample?. Okay, this book has really good reviews, but why would I buy a book from an author who is new to me after only 13 pages? And not very compelling pages, at that. Sorry, but no thanks.

The Other Woman. Daniel Silva always manages to take a current headline and weave a fictional narrative that rings so closely to the truth that you could confuse it with reality. I love Gabriel Allon and all of the recurring cast that frequents his novels. I also felt that Daniel added the perfect amount of “backstory” for new readers who are not familiar with the series. I cant wait for his next book in the series!

Fantastic. Daniel Silva always delivers. It’s 1:10 am because I couldn’t put this book down to go to sleep. Another Gabriel Allen winner. This is my favorite author & I have all of his books.

Greatest. One of the best thrillers I have read this year. Page turner in step with today’s political scene.

Good but disappointing read. Fascinating historical detail and enlightening look back at the Philby era, but ultimately too long winded, overwhelmed by a multitude of main, minor and bit characters. I wore out the Search feature on my iPad looking back at who's who. A bit formulaic and to me a disappointing ending. Allon doesn't lose. Silva is an incredible author but #18 was not among his best IMHO.

The other woman. Mediocre at best. Disappointing read.

The other woman. I wait patiently for each of his books over the years and devour them as they are released. I am never disappointed until the end when there is no more pages. This last one was a 5 star Michelin masterpiece. And now I sadly place it down amongst its great brothers and sisters on my all star shelf. Thank you again Daniel.

Good, just too political. Another good book in the series. I can’t give it 5 stars due to Silva’s words about American politics. It’s obvious where he stands on our current situation and he made that clear in his typical mainstream news media remarks. Leave that out and it would have been a 5 star rating.

One of my favorites. I think the Allon books had become a bit formulaic. This one is different and more interesting exploring in a fictional way the Kim Philby story.

The Other Woman. I have read them all - all of Daniel Silva’s books; and my imagination is captured by Gabriel Allon’s epic journeys. I sense in this latest book that Silva may be planning to phase out our hero. I hope that isn’t so. Our hero should not continue to age - no older than 55, certainly. And he must cease complaining about aches and pains. Hopefully, the next in this encompassing series will cure the Israeli- American-British rift. And art and travel must always play a permanent role. All-engrossing, fast-paced, familiar characters - always a great read.

Sluggish, Plodding & Uninspired. Having read each book twice in this remarkable series, The Other Woman was hugely disappointing: I found it sluggish, plodding and uninspired. Missing was the colorful charm and nuance of his cast of characters. Gone was the exotic locales, page-turning plot and fierce focus, traditional DaSilva trademarks. Instead, the book felt rushed, and mired down in repetitive details of an old British spy scandal. It took nearly half the book to meet the other woman - a remarkably long and tedious introduction. Not the authors finest hour.

Tho Other Woman. No one writes a more interesting story than Silva! Probably too close to non-fiction as you can get. What a character in Allon!

The Other Woman. Typical Gabriel Allon story. Great plot and opened ending to allow for future books. While the battle of wits with Sasha is an obvious future novel, I would suggest having Rebecca Philby featured as another antagonist, as a subplot and as a plot in future novels. Also suggest going back to the Middle East in these plots as well as separate focuses. Lester Miles,MD

Good read. Good read

The other woman. I have read all of his stuff but where did this come from? Spy history?,conversation,no real plot chapter 58 was all I could do!
