I found "The Hyperspace Project" to be an immensely enjoyable read. I kept picturing Harrison Ford, but with the Indiana Jones personality, but in a Blade Runner world as Nick Bannon. The pacing was great, Swan did an awesome job giving just enough description of the new technology and alien races without dragging the story into a grinding halt. The story had a feel good sense that I got from watching "Guardians of the Galaxy" - where you get to know the characters to the point where you actually want to meet them and have a few drinks at a dive bar to hear more stories.
The dialogue and writing were top notch - and it was clear that this story was thought out before Swan committed it to paper. With all of the rehashes (really - can we do a Spiderman reboot just one more time please.....) it is nice to meet some new characters in a new adventure - and it doesn't have to end here, since Swan already has book two on the shelves.

Hyperspace. Highly entertaining. I couldn’t put it down. It will appeal to all sci fi buffs.
Good Read. Just finished the third book. Excellent from start to end. I was expecting the story to end awkward as some do. I won’t give it away, it was both interesting.... and a hoot to boot.
I remembered I did get this. I got this book a while back, what I read was pretty good!

It was like reading Farscape. And that’s not entirely a complement. This is a good book / story, and I’m sure a good series. I haven’t read the other two. However, the story / plot was all over the place. From character reveals to basically ripping off a great TV show. And then it just ends, with the surprise of a hidden chapter. I’m gonna finish the series, but I hope I’m not venturing into Babylon 5 or Fire Fly in doing so.

An amazing book. A well written book that I have read again, and again. I just keeps on getting better and better. I can’t wait till I can read the next book in this trilogy.
Awakening. Enjoyed the read and the characters, I will read the rest of the series, already purchased, that said I am not happy to find out there is a lost chapter, that is downloadable, only to find no link to said download when you visit the page the link provides, hence the reduced star rating.

Good book. This was a great book. However there were a lot of swear words. Apart from that great gob. I loved this book. I would highly recommended it for kids 13+.
lightly toned story of battle ships and romance across swathes of space.. Awakening by Donald Swan A pleasant story of an bloke from Earth testing the first hyperspace equipment being sent to a remote part of the Universe and the war that he lands amidst. He joins a rag tag group of resistance ... ok, while you’ve heard that type of thing before - it’s a lightly toned story of battle ships and romance across swathes of space. A good story 3/5.
More Like A Collection of Short Stories. The novel has an interesting premise; humans discover hyperspace technology only to stumble into a war with far more advanced aliens who don't have the technology. But it reads more like a collection of short stories than a single novel, with the protagonists jumping from one adventure to another with barely any linkage between them. There are a few textual mistakes here and there; sometimes the perspective changes from one character to another abruptly without changing paragraphs, for example. But overall it's an enjoyable enough read, especially for a free e-book. The author has a future in short stories, probably sci-fi comedy short stories.
