Wicked Beginnings by L. A. Cotton Book Summary
An edgy, angsty, addictive YA/NA crossover series from L. A. Cotton, author of the Chastity Falls series.
Sometimes wrong feels so right...
When seventeen-year-old Eloise Stone finds herself halfway across the world, moving into her uncle's pool house, she expects things to be ... awkward. She doesn't expect to come face-to-face with the boy from last summer. The boy that made her feel things she'd never felt before. But a year is a long time, and Lo isn't the girl she was then. Besides, they're family now.
Maverick Prince acts as if he doesn't remember her, treating Lo like nothing more than an annoying younger sister, and not in a 'he cares' way, just in a 'he's an arsehole' way. One thing's for sure, he isn't just dangerous for her sanity--he's hazardous for her heart.
Lo thought moving to Wicked Bay was the worst of her problems, but as life begins to unravel around her, she's going to find out it's only the beginning...
The Wicked Bay Series is recommended for readers aged 17+ due to mature themes, language and content.
Wicked Lies (can be read as a standalone)

Wicked Beginnings (L. A. Cotton) Book Reviews
Love the drama and angst! One of my favorite things to read is good old fashioned high school drama! And this book has plenty of that. Add in some family secrets and some forbidden aspects and this books checks off most things on my list. I enjoyed the teases throughout the book about the things that happened in the past. Made it so that I wanted to keep reading to find out what the deal is. And although this book is technically a "Cliffhanger" it left off in a good place. It's not so terrible that you are going to die waiting, but there is just enough uncertainty that you wonder where it's all going to end up!.Score: 4/5
AwfulThe plot is empty and predictable, the lead is spineless and uninteresting, and I would happily stab about half the characters. Just pure garbage.Score: 1/5

Love to be wicked ❤️This was a totally wicked book!! I'm not normally for family love stories but this one has me intrigued beyond! Eloise has been transplanted to the states and her life has been turned upside down even more when she meets the one boy she never thought she'd see again. Maverick is an enigma, just when you think you know what he's gonna do he'll confuse you again. Despite it all I did love Maverick. I was completely taken over by this book. When I got to the end I totally got the title and even named LA Cotton a wicked person. 😊 She wrote this book with more in mind and I can't wait. I read book voluntarily for an honest review. Hope you love it. I did. Enjoy!!!.Score: 5/5
I loved this book! This book! LA Cotton never ceases to amaze me with the captivating stories she writes! Wicked Beginnings was another one of those books, with the a$$hole, bad boy, hot and sexy hero, the off-the-charts undeniable attraction between Maverick and Eloise (Lo)... hot, hot, hot! Love to hate you or hate to love you, either way this story is compelling, enthralling, and will have you turning page after page as you're dying to see what happens next! While it does end on a sort-of cliffhanger, it gives you an ending that, all that nail biting you've been doing?... it's worth it. So worth it. I loved it! I want book 2 now! But I'll wait, because I know it'll be worth it!.Score: 5/5
Full of turmoil and angst.I knew from the first chapter this book was going to be turmoil. Lies, secrets, family, friends, and enemies, this story will take you on a wild ride. When tragedy strikes and Eloise and her dad move half way around the world she is torn. Leaving the past behind and looking to the future doesn't make her forget her sorrow. To her surprise a fleeting moment from her past is standing in the kitchen of the family home. As Eloise starts a new school she soon learns that Maverick and Kyle are the princes of the school and since she is family she is part of their group. Maverick is one who was hard to figure out. We have not found all of his secrets yet. I felt so much emotion for Eloise as she tries to figure out her life and fit in at school. On top of that she learns that her father has moved on. This was an emotional rollercoaster of a ride. As in true Ms. Cotton fashion it ramped up toward the end and leaves you wanting more. I can't wait to see what the future holds for Eloise and Maverick. I am sure it is not going to be an easy ride. I voluntarily read an advanced copy of this book..Score: 5/5

4.5 Stars!!!I really enjoyed this story. I loved that Mav and Lo had a connection before and I absolutely loved Kyle’s character. He made me laugh and I loved his bond with all the characters..Score: 4/5
Amazing BookIn a real fan of this author, her stories always pull me in I just love her writing style. I went through a range of emotions whilst reading, I was intrigued frustrated angry. I flipped between wanting to scream and wanting to slap some characters, yes the author almost brought me to physical violence. Eloise\Lo has moved to the US with her father for a fresh start where they will be staying with relatives. I'm going to be upfront her dad is a total waste of space I wanted to throat punch him. Lo I just loved she's a great female character, she's still dealing with past events but she's opinionated & feisty and I spent most of the story wanting to hug her. Maverick/Rick aaah ! He's what I would call deep and complicated and infuriating ..... but I fell hard for him. He's a character that little by little draws you in to his web, you know he's bad for you but you only live once right ? This is a story built on layers of secrets, just as one is answered another puzzle is found. I couldn't stop reading I wanted to know what was going to happen next. Family... friends... enemies it's hard to know who to trust. I'm left with so many questions bring on book two..Score: 5/5
Love it!This is the first book by L A Cotton that I've read. It isn't the first book of her's that I have on my kindle and I shall be bumping those up my TBR. Let me start by saying I'm a closet YA fan but haven't read that genre for a long time. Wicked Beginnings took me back to all the reasons why I loved it. Eloise is forced to leave her life in the UK and settle in the US. She's forced to settle in a family she barely knows, a family full of secrets, angst, troubles, and rediscovers a man she'd met on a beach. Maverick is a very troubled soul. A soul that I wanted to heal, a man that I wanted to hug and to heal such was the intensity of Cotton's depiction of him. L.A. writes a great character, full of depth, characters that are not only relatable but that I really wanted to get to know. I read this book in two sittings, I hardly ever read a book in two sittings. I was desperate to find the time to continue with this story after reading the first half. I stayed up way past my bedtime simply so I could immerse myself in the world of Maverick and Eloise. I thought about them before I had the chance to pick up my kindle and I longed to finish their story. It's a heartbreaking story and one where I wasn't ready for it to end, so I was thrilled to see there is a second installment coming soon. I need to know more. Wicked Beginnings is easily a five star read for me. It kept my attention, I was enthralled, I fell in love with the characters and their complicated lives, their secrets yet to be uncovered, and the desire to know more. I'll be one-clicking the second in this series without even needing a blurb. Lovers of Abbi Glines, Jasinda Wilder, Rebecca Donovan will love Wicked Beginnings, and this story, this author, can most certainly stand proudly alongside those authors and their books in this genre..Score: 5/5
Phenomenal start to another great seriesI fell in love with LA Cotton's style of writing with the Chastity Falls series but this new series is now my favourite obsession! Brilliant storyline of teenage angst, passion, family, loyalty an betrayals. You really feel all the emotions in this book. LA Cotton certainly knows how to write characters you love and become invested in and a storyline you become addicted to, wanting to know how it plays out, what the secrets are and who can be trusted! Give me a hot and sexy bad boy, who is unapproachable and sizzling with red hot chemistry and that's my perfect book boyfriend and that is precisely what you have in Maverick! The push/pull between Maverick and Lo is addictive reading that has you devouring each page unable to put it down until you finish! Lo, I loved her, she is feisty and has such fire in her considering everything she's been through. I can't wait for the next book, especially after that ending, its not a cliffhanger but it totally leaves you wanting more NOW!.Score: 5/5
