Cheesy. Characters are really corny. Very little development and terrible dialogue. It was all just witty banter, no one ever said anything serious. Ever. The descriptive writing was absolutely beautiful. But sometimes it felt like the author was just writing for the sake of writing. Some passages hardly made sense at all. Overall was not impressed and couldn’t wait to get through the book—almost didn’t finish it but I figured since I paid the money might as well haha XD

Can’t put it down!. Though I haven’t yet finished it, I’m obsessed with the characters and the plot. It’s so adventurous and the writing style really takes me to the Saad and gives incredible insight on the characters personalities. Definitely one of my favorites! Wish I would’ve bought a hard copy to put on my shelf. Thinking about doing just that actually ! Hoping for more books like this from the same author!

Like, but not Love. I really enjoyed the darker take on the Little Mermaid. The present tense story telling wasn’t my favourite, I found it distracting. Switching the first person POV between both main characters got a little confusing at times as it could take me a page or so to figure out exactly who was telling the story. Overall, liked it but didn’t love it.

Absolutely thrilling.. I don’t know about y’all but I find ocean fantasy to be the most convincing as there’s so much of it that hasn’t been explored. It just fits. I love the banter between the two leads as well as the side characters. The author gives us just enough backstory to help understand their character but without taking away from the story and not giving us mindless pages of monologue. Definitely would read again and stop by each of the kingdoms and places described in this book to draw them! Love the passion and emotions that lie within this book. I definitely felt like I was a part of the crew or related to our Princess. If you can let your mind imagine the world this book creates, I’m sure you’ll find it an excellent read as well.

Best book I’ve read in a while. I’ve been on a slightly disappointing string of books lately and “To Kill A Kingdom” brought me back SWINGING. Couldn’t get enough of this story!! Not only is it action-packed and hold-your-breath worthy, Alexandra Christo weaves into the story a message of radical love and change as deceptively as a siren’s song. This book will make your heart race, and then it will make your heart hum. 10/10

a good story!!. There are minor minor plot holes but if you buy this book with the intention of being told a really lovely and fun story, then you’ll love it :). This is the first book I’ve read with a couple that was already together from the start of the story and remain together, and alive, for the entirety. They were side characters but I have yet to see this so I was really happy when nothing happened to them.

Well Written & Fleshed Out Characters. The world is fantastical & well mapped out. Characters aren’t cliche, thank god. No instant love or anything. Plot keeps you hanging on every step of the adventure & thought of the main characters. A great reimagining of the little mermaid, with substantial grit.

Repetitive. The characters over explain way to much and always call the,selves as their titles like prince. They keep refusing to the same things. Overall just repetitive.

I didn’t like the ending. I liked the book pretty well until I got to the last few chapters. I just wasn’t really satisfied with that ending

Great!. Well written, has great humor, and has lots of action. You won’t get bored. Resembles a version of the Little Mermaid!

Loved it!. Couldn’t put this book down! I loved Elian and Liras story. Definitely a must read!
