Needs clarity. Overall, the story and writing are pretty good. I love regency era, and while this may nudge Victorian, it fits the bill. That said…how old were they? We were given scores of dates. We were told many times about their years apart. We were told Alethea had “seasonS” and spent 3 years in Scotland. So simple math puts her at at least 23 assuming she came out at 18. But then she and “dec” remember each other so we’ll after departing at what? 11? 12? It’s seriously not til 3/4 in that we learn the twins were born in 1804. So she’s 24. But guess what. We never learn Declan’s age! We’re they the same? Was he forced to leave England at freaking 12? How did he get about? Who took care of him. When did he become a businessman? Even if he was 15? We don’t know because it’s never explained and left a jarring whole in the intricacies of the plot. SPOILER ALRRT: S S S S Also. The earl gets off too easily. Funds to draw for his travels after murder and attempted murder..and embezzlement?!? No. Just no. He should have been left without a dime, forced to leave, snd figure things out.

To Love a Scandalous Duke. Very enjoyable read. Alethea is a strong heroine and her friend Flora is a kick in the pants to read. Hoping she has a story in the future. Would recommend to Regency readers. Great love story, I didn't want it to end. These characters will be with me for a long. If you love Lisa Kleypas then you'll love Liana De La Rosa. A debut success. Will definitely be reading more from this author.

Loved it. On his return from overseas, after being summoned home by his older brother, Declan finds he is now the new Duke of Darington ,and , that his brother has been found dead after being attacked by footpads in spittallfields , somewhere where a Duke would not normally be . Alethia has recently returned from living with her mother in Scotland, and she has been reunited with her twin brother Finley. Their past links them both , they all were best friends when they we're young , but tragedy and suspicion separated them . Declan has is own suspicions that somehow Ally's father is involved not just in his fathers suicide but in his brothers untimely death . They rekindle old feelings and friendships , but will they be able to live with the truth , or will the past haunt them . I really enjoyed this story, I love a bit of suspense and whodunnit. The characters are believable and the the writing is good and keeps the story moving at a decent pace . Would love to read further stories with the secondary characters in, maybe Finley having his own adventure x I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review 👍
