Loved Callan!. Oh my gosh! Callan was everything I was hoping for! I have been anticipating his book since we first got introduced to him in book 3 of this standalone series. He had a very small part, but he left a huge impact. I've never wanted to see a side character get his own book more than I did for Callan. A big part of why is because of his upbringing. That upbringing made him unique in the Alpha world. Callan was brought up in a religious cult that was run by a man who was at his core, evil. Callan was considered their best hunter, providing game for feeding the following. He's never had any schooling or much exposure to the outside world. He has learned to live by surviving the best way he could under the thumb of the leader. Just to be clear, this is in no way a religious book and religion is not prominent in this book. The heroine of book 3 had escaped this cult with a bounty on her head put there by the cult leader. When she and Andre` came back to barter for her freedom, it was at that time when Callan had to make the decision to help bring down the cult so that she could be free. This then leads to Callan's story. In this book we get the aftermath of him adjusting to being free and running into the women he met a year ago who has never left his thoughts. You can read this as a stand alone but I think you will appreciate Callan's character more if you were to read book 3 (Andre`) first. You will get a much better picture of the environment that Callan was raised in and will appreciate his way of thinking more. One of the other things I love about this series is that the author has all the Hero's in the previous books make an appearance in each book. This group of men are growing and to see them have each others back in time of need makes me appreciate each book more. I am a fan!

Hero. He is my favorite character from this series of books! We met him in Andre and his silent ways were intriguing. I am wondering and hoping he will show up in other stories.

Slow Burn Appeal!. Ive been waiting and waiting for this book to come out and its here! This book, it has that amazing slow burn feel, you get the characters depth. Which I love! And you can feel the emotion pouring through the pages. Not only that, the love the have one another it's completely different then you read in most romance novels. I can't wait to see what Bartel writes next!

Callan was so good and Alpha. This was a great addition to the series. Just like the author mentioned it would take a cleverness to do Callan’s story. She did it. Callan was so strong and determined to be more than his upbringing and past. He fought through the cult tendencies and made himself. He also knew love and wanting a mate. He is Alpha male and makes no excuses for his demands. Read On!

Wow!. I’ve read all of Ms. Bartel’s books, this one WAS a challenge, but she nailed, it. He’s beautiful, resourceful and sexy. Don’t some of us want that. This book has it all.

Freaking hot!!. By far my favorite book by Sybil! I could not put it down read it all the way through within hours and omg I loved it!! Quickly becoming one of my favorite authors :)

It was okay. Callan was first introduced in Andre’s story. He’s like Neil Christiansen. A man with a few words but his actions are somewhat honorable when he falls for his stepsister, Emily and rescues her from a ruthless sex trafficker!! I love brief appearances with Andre, Talon, Tank, Tyler and Neil whom they helped Callan rescue Emily from that kidnapper!!!

Amazing!. Gahhh I don’t know how Sybil does it, but here we are again! Callan was the biggest sweetheart, but still is 100% alpha. This book has allllll the feels. 😍😍

Recommended. 3.5 stars I have loved every book I have read by Sybil Bartel, that being said this one was just okay for me. The characters just didn’t resonate with me like the previous books. Callan/Hero was raised in a cult and when that ended he went looking for the sister he never knew he had. When he found his biological father he was surprised to find Emily there, they had a short encounter a year earlier. He finds out Emily is his stepsister, as his bio father remarried. This story does have the intrigue and action of her other books, but I just couldn’t connect with Callan or Emily. This is all my personal preference, and I would recommend it because I know most may not have the same option as me.

Back on track. I loved this book, a great completion to the series. I loved the adrenaline and action, the exacting male lead and the ballsy female lead. Excellent editing and writing with plenty of zing. I love that this author uses profanity liberally, it makes the characters raw and all the more real.

Callan. Given Callan’s unique character and circumstances I think the author wove it all into a great story for this series. I really enjoyed it and hope that Ms. Bartel will consider writing more books to add to this series.

“Callan” (uncompromising 5) by Sybil Bartel. I felt really sad that both Decima and Callan had had few fond memories of their relations. It seemed as if neither cared much for the other. Both Callan and Emily have a lot to overcome communication wise given their different upbringings. I liked how the author used honesty and body language to describe their efforts. I’m not sure I understand Emily’s distaste for a relationship with her stepbrother. She never lived with him as a sister and only just discovered the relationship. There should be no stigma. Given Hero’s cultish upbringing, the author did an amazing an beautiful job of portraying Hero as alpha and vulnerable. The only thing that bothered me was how could River Ranch been so prepared to overcome Andre and his crew.
