Shelter in Place by Nora Roberts. This book has to be one of her best books. I was captured in the story from beginning to end. A book I could not put down.

Terrible writing. This was an example of a good story line gone to the trash heap with terrible writing and juvenile character development. Reed, CiCi and Simone are beyond imagination perfect people and their relationships are so over the top with Pollyanna goodness that its fairy tale stuff. You really have to suspend reality to believe that anyone expresses themsleves like these protagnotists do and that they are all so good hearted and wonderfully successful because of the mutual tragedy they were part of. Saccarine sweet does not begin to describe it.

Shelter in Place. This is Nora Roberts best book yet. I so wanted to find out what happened, but also did not want the story to end.

Hard to start but was a good book!. This was hard for me to start, and I almost did not because of the current situations in our country, but I did and it was a very good book!

Grab a box of Kleenex!. Oh my gosh! I cried, laughed, cried some more, laughed some more. I couldn't put this book down. I NEEDED to know what would happen next. It hits straight to your heart, in this particular time, when senseless shootings are becoming the "new normal". And isn't that a sad commentary on the times we're living in? Lord, help us. You're the only one who can. ❤️

Intrigue. Great read and kept me wanting more

Weaving a New Fictional View. I’m a fan of Roberts and Robb. This was a somewhat different view of both. The plot was richer and more initricate, as much story as character driven. I love romance and intimacy too and see the sexual as much a part of life as the romance. I would have liked a little more of the primitive force of physical bonding in the storyline. I do see hope triumphing, as it should and does. Thank you for years of thought, escape, and complicated, nuanced characters.

Shelter in Place. What a wonderful love filled mystery covering every emotion from the wonderfully developed characters to the jobs they filled and the interesting and colorful lives they lived! Her villain was diabolical and clever. I wait impatiently for each of Nora’s books written as her or J.D. Robb! No other author has ever entertained me as she does. I remain an ever impressed fan. As always, Nora Roberts has totally outdone herself. This book, which revolves around the tragedy that we have experienced too many times in recent history, also highlights the impact it has forever on those who survive. Twined in with the suspense, mystery and romance she is so well known for, Nora Roberts has blown this one out of the water. I’ve been a devoted fan since my grandmother started passing down her books to me 15+ years ago and I swear they just keep getting better and better.

Captivating story. This is a great crime/romance novel- as expected it was fast paced and extremely hard to put down. Yes it spins from a mass gun related crime and yes people die in it but it is a book; some may be “offended” by the gun related crimes “due to the issues in our country” and so if you are one of those people that can’t handle it don’t read it. The characters are real and the story weaves their lives together perfectly. I have read all of Robert’s novels and this is one of the best she has written.

Good Read. This book grips you from the beginning attributed to its resemblance to reality. The aftermath of Patricia (the psychopathic) reminds me of the obsessive, neurotic behavioral actions as those displayed by Sean Miller in Tom Clancy’s ‘Patriot Games’. She objected to and blamed others for her brother’s death. Everyone, that is, but herself. I enjoyed this book and found it difficult to put down.

Amazing. Great book start to finish, you feel the terror in the beginning and I couldn’t put this book down!

Shelter in place,. Very good about family, friendship and kindness to others! I would like to know where this Island they are referring to is located . I would like to visit! Sounds very beautiful! I think this information you should include in the book.

Wonderful. This is a book that I would highly recommend. I loved it and couldn’t put it down from the first page to the last. The characters were realistically drawn and the outcomes of trauma were very realistic. Go grab this and read.

A Captivating Story. One of her very best.

Started out great. The first half of this book was a page turner. High suspense, very interesting. But somewhere along the way the story just falls flat. It feels very drawn out, with all sorts of story lines being thrown in just as filler. It is an unnecessarily LONG book. Found myself flipping through pages trying to hurry up and get to the end. I don’t know what happened here Nora. Started out great, but seems like you lost your way in the middle.

Another Amazing Book. Nora Roberts is an amazing author and never disappoints. This book brought all the feels and I couldn’t put it down!

Captivating!. This held my attention thru to the last page. The characters are well drawn and full bodied.

A book you will not be able to put down.. I have to say that the beginning of the book was so raw I had to put it down for a few weeks. However, when I picked it up again, I could not put it down! It is incredible!

Shelter in Place. This is the best book to come from Ms. Roberts in some time. It takes us back to her books such as Carolina Moon (just to name one). The tragedy that occurs in this story makes you feel like you’re in the middle of this horrific event. Yet, what arises out of it is beautifully written. Well, it’s the end of September 2018. I just finished reading this fabulous book, and it still stands up as one of my most favorite books I have ever read. I love these quirky and loving characters, most particularly the indomitable CiCi. Even Barney the beloved dog survived his own tragedy to become a loving sweet pooch! Thanks Nora - Cindy D. Nora Roberts does it Again!. I was only going to read a few pages, then come back to finish later. Nope! Once I started, I could not stop. I could see each character in my mind, from Simone, Reed and CiCi, down to Patricia. This one will definitely go in my library of “read again and again” books.

Seriously?. It is very clear from the beginning when you buy this book what the subject matter is. So to later then be offended by the subject matter is the stupidest thing I’ve ever seen in my life. I’ve read two reviews, both were “offended“, and yet they read the blurb of what the book was about and then bought it. You have to be a special kind of moron to be upset about the subject matter when you knew what it was going into the book. If you don’t like the subject matter, you simply don’t purchase the book.

What happened?. This book is a mess. The writing is awful. Oh, my.

Great Job Nora. Nora Roberts has managed to grab my interest from the first page yet again.

All over the place. I’ve read all of Nora’s books. This one seems all over the place to me. Way too many characters and different story lines. It jumps around too much for me. Sometimes I forget the plot. Disappointing.

It was okay but kinda corny. Lots of great reviews and it was an okay read but I found myself doing so many eye rolls while reading it. Kinda corny. I was ready finish it but I forced myself to finish it. It was that kind of book.

Another best seller!. Ms Roberts never disappoints. I’ve probably read all of her novels, some multiple times. Her characters are so rich and three dimensional , you could swear you know them, or want to. Her story telling is unsurpassed . I look forward to a new book but then I am so let down when I’m done ( usually within 24 hrs, because I can’t put it down!) I don’t want her stories to end ! She draws you in, gets you hooked. This is the best Nora Roberts books I have read and I have read many.. Very detailed characters and unfortunately the subject is way too familiar to our society.

Shelter in Place. The readers that were un happy with this book or offended missed the real story. Missed the real love that evolved out of Tragedy. This is a well written book that makes you aware, makes you think, what would I do? The fear of the stalker is so real the bonds of the survivors so strong. The book is an emotional journey not to be taken lightly. Nora Roberts is a thought provoking storyteller. Well done!

A classic Nora Roberts’s story.. No idea how she still does it after all these years but she can still tell a new story and make me wish that I had half the talent.

Put this book on your list. Loved this story. Started off with a tragedy, but the real story was in the characters and the aftermath. Loved CiCi and Reed. Funny and relatable. Long book that kept me interested the entire time.

Finished in a week!. I absolutely loved this book, as I have loved many of Roberts’ books. Not a dull moment with many characters that pull you in. The book starts with a gripping beginning and has a very satisfying ending. I highly recommend this book.

Shelter in place. This was an awful read,,,,can’t pinpoint any one, two or three things because the whole story was poorly written!! Don’t waste your money or time,,,,boo on Nora!

A book that can easily be put down. Definitely one of the worst Nora Roberts books I have read, and she’s my favourite author to read. This book had a lot of action at the beginning, hundreds of pages of boring story in the middle and the ending of the story was rushed through. I would not recommend this book to anyone, even to a Nora Roberts fan like myself.

Our book club loved it!. Loved it. Timely, sensitive, topic about the devastation a mass shooting claims on the families and survivors. Well written.
