Nocturne. While this is a follow up series to the Fourth Element trilogy, I only read The Midnight Sea before this and didn’t find myself lost. This book is a set up book so it doesn’t stand alone very well and doesn’t accomplish much. Events take place in several different places with several different parties which spreads the time devoted to each thin, causing the author to rush a lot of things. It simply ends with a chapter rather than a real conclusion to a book, resulting in an unsatisfying read.

Nocturn. Great read

Read Them All!. What a pleasant surprise this series is! I stumbled on Nocturne, then finding there were three books before it, I stopped halfway through and read those. Now I’m over halfway through SOLIS. These are honestly some of the most engrossing and delightful books I’ve read. And I’m not a “fantasy” person per se. But these read like an endless, exotic fable. The pacing is addictive, and the plotting is really impressive; there are so many story arcs throughout but you never feel lost, as the author does a good job of reminding you what’s happening through character dialogue and story beats. If I were an agent, I’d be trying to get this writer a massive book deal.

Nocturne. I read the trilogy first & was enthralled - Nocturne carried that on! Fabulous writing & editing (I look for breaks in the narrative that don’t add up & while there were a couple of mishaps overall Nazarene & Darius continue to engage me as well as Culach & Mina & the amazing brutal Victor. I’d be a sea a if I could lol … can’t praise it enough & look forward to starting Solis & losing myself - for the most part - in their world … Well done Kat it takes a lot for me to write a review & I hope you continue to write about that world …

An Excellent Fantasy Novel. This book has a large cast of characters, many with hints of intriguing backstories. The world-building has a satisfying consistency and a welcomed historical depth that is most promising. The main protagonists are interesting and complex, whilst the plot develops at a fair pace without being frenetic. Magic courses throughout the book, with a premonition that more is to come. A throughly enjoyable read.

Couldn’t put it down. Loved it! The level of description with the characters without being to wordy or overtly long was refreshing. The way the characters seem to grow with every page!

EXcemment series. I have devoured the whole series, with bated breath, sometimes a tear in my eye and always a gasp on my lips! Truly excellent, with characters you really care for.
