Whiskey Undone by Carrie Ann Ryan Book Summary

Two best friends follow a dangerous and seductive path in the final standalone novel of the bestselling Whiskey and Lies series from NYT Bestselling Author Carrie Ann Ryan.

Ainsley Harris has always kept a secret from her best friend. She’s stood by his side, helped him raise his daughter, and tried to keep her distance even though she’s been in love with him for years. She knows he has secrets of his own and she’s not willing to chance what they have on a possibility.

Loch Collins has hidden himself and his past from the world for good reason. Darkness always comes back to haunt those who fight against it, and he knows better than most. One night of temper, however, forces him to realize his true feelings for Ainsley—for better or worse.

But Loch’s former allies aren’t on his side anymore, and now not only is his life and the life of his daughter on the line, but Ainsley is in the crosshairs, as well. Together, two best friends must fight for each other and their small town, because Whiskey has never burned brighter. And danger, it seems, is ever lurking.

Friends to lovers. Ainsley has been Loch’s best friend for years, taking care of his little girl they almost seemed like a couple. Loch is a bit stubborn and won’t give in to his feelings for her. There’s always a little mistery and danger in the quiet town of Whiskey and the Collins are always in the middle. Ainsley does show her toughness, she is no delicate flower. I loved her. And Loch had to unlock his heart. Great story. This series is great.

OMG YES!!!!. I think writing reviews are so hard. I hate spoilers, I don't like when reviews reiterate what the blurb already says.... so here goes. This book is outstanding. It can be read as a stand alone, but why? Books in a series are always richer having read the series. Carrie Ann Ryan takes you on a ride that doesn't leave you hanging. If you have read the first 2 in the series, this book is just as amazing as the other two. If you have not read the first 2 in the series, read this book and then run...don't walk to get the other 2 books. The characters are flawed yet relatable, funny, and real. You feel like you are part of the story, like it is something that you could have or have experienced. Carrie Ann Ryan has written another stellar book. Can't wait till the next one. Cheers!

It’s finally here!. We have watched Loch & Ainsley’s relationship for two books now...& it’s finally here! Ainsley wants Loch to truly see her. When he finally admits he always has, the steam flows off the pages like a good cup of coffee! Loch’s former job has come back to haunt him and the town of Whiskey. So, in true Collins brother fashion, he does something stupid and tries to push her away. Read the conclusion to the Whiskey trio. Since Carrie Ann loves us readers so much, there’s a nice epilogue with a giant bow on it for all the Collins, including our Montgomery Ink crossover, Tabby & Alex!

Loved it!!!. I loved this story!!! Loch and Ainsley are so perfect together and both so insecure in how they are in able to manage a relationship. When danger shows up all Loch can think about is keeping those he loves safe. Ainsley wants to be strong and she is stronger than she realizes when she fights to get back to those she loves and the family she has chosen. The Collins family is amazing and this book is a fabulous conclusion.

Whiskey undone. Absolutely loved this book. Can’t wait for more. Start any of her series and you will not be disappointed.

Must read all Whiskey &Lies. These books were all great. Carrie Ann Ryan wrote an incredible series. I loved Loch and Ainsley and the suspense that is built in this book is worth reading every word.

Outstanding. This series was excellent!!! Whiskey Undone was Loch and Ainsley’s story. Best friends finally realizing what was in front of them the whole time! I loved this story!

Strong series end!. 4.5/5 Strong finish to this spin off series! Ainsley and Loch are a friends-to-lovers story. They have good chemistry and I liked how Ainsley had a backbone and helped Loch realize what he could be losing. The author is talented at writing about strong characters that fight thru their insecurities to achieve their HEA. Enjoyable read!

Another fantastic visit to Whiskey. Carrie Ann Ryan does it again. Wonderful characters, excellent story and time with old friends from the other 2 visits to Whiskey. Completely love the Collins family.

Whiskey undone. Ainsley and Loch have loved each other for a long time but never knew how the other felt and didn’t want to risk their friendship and also Misty, Loch’s daughter. These two are perfect for each other and I love that Ainsley won’t let Loch push her away, even though he is trying to do it for her safety. There is more drama in this book, it thankfully Loch and his brothers are able to help save Ainsley. I received an ARC of this book and voluntarily reviewed it.

hits all the marks. This book hit all the marks for me. Loch is protective and loving and has a past that is catching up with him. A past that is putting the ones that he loves the most in danger. Ainsley has been in love with him forever, but doesn’t want to chance losing his friendship on a relationship that might fail. Resigned to her role as best friend she supports and loves Loch and his little girl as much as she can without crossing any lines. This books concludes the series with a bang, it’s an incredible ending to an incredible cast of characters. Sending them off with Loch and Ainsley, watching their love morph from friendship to true love was amazing. Another 5 star read from Carrie Ann.

I’m going to miss the Collins family and Whiskey. I have to say, it’s a toss up at this point if I love the Montgomerys or the spin off families more. Carrie Ann Ryan has created a very large and complex world. In the last of the Whiskey and Lies series, we FINALLY get Loch and Ainsley’s story. I’ve been Team Ainsley since Whiskey Secrets. I think she’s a strong female character. The insights we get into her and her past in Whiskey Undone illustrate that fact. While she doesn’t believe she’s enough, she proves time and again she’s more. I wasn’t sure about Loch. Don’t get me wrong, Ryan does growly loner like nobody’s business, but she was playing Loch close to the vest. That made it hard to get a read on him. I will say, I was ready to throat punch him more than once at the beginning of this book. But because Ryan knows what she’s doing, that just made it even sweeter when we finally got to see what Loch was keeping hidden away. Ryan does a great job with the suspense in Whiskey Undone. She keeps you on your toes and guessing. There’s more than once I was on the edge of my seat, and I was up past my bedtime because I just had to know what happened next. Trust me, it was totally worth it. While I’m sad to see the end of the Whiskey and Lies series, Ryan brought yet another amazing family to life. I’m going to miss the Collins and Whiskey, PA.

What a way to end it!!. This is the final book in the Whiskey and Lies series, and what a way to end! To start off with best friends who each want more but are too afraid, and then go into a bunch of danger and very bad people doing very bad things, this book keeps you on your toes! And you will absolutely fall in love with Loch and Ainsley. And Misty of course. I’m sad to see it end, but Carrie Ann Ryan ended it with a bang!!!

A great read!. I absolutely could not wait for Loch and Ainsley’s book. It had so much going on that I couldn’t put it down. There is passion, action, and suspense. You can’t miss with this book or the series. Loch and Ainsley waited for their HEA and it was worth the wait. I was sad to see the Whiskey and Lies series end, but I’m sure CAR will just wow us with her next series. This is another must read!

Perfect End to the Series!. FINALLY!!!!!!!!! Since book 1 I’ve been dying to see what happens with Loch and Ainsley!! The way these two finally got together was THE BEST!! I loved the uncertainty of it, the breaking point and the pieces that followed. There were so many layers to them as a couple, even before they were a couple. It was great to see them get peeled back to see how they fit together. One of the most adorable parts was how Misty was involved. This little girl seemed to really want to play Cupid, even though that’s never really made mention. The twists and turns in this book were amazing. I loved the edge of suspense that this book took on. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time. I love how Loch dealt with the bad situations and how caveman like he was about protecting everyone around him. And the ending. I am the biggest fan of epilogues and Carrie Ann does them SO WELL. This was a beautiful ending to an amazing series. So glad we got to see another connection with the Montgomery’s with this family

A great finish to the series. The final book in this series gives us Loch and Ainsley’s story. She is a teacher and he has a thing in security. But when the past comes back to haunt Loch, he must not only keep safe the daughter he loves but his best friend for whom he has feelings. Can everyone survive the onslaught and come out at the other end? Their family and friends of course are there to support them and help them to their HEA. I so loved their story. I always find that once you read a friends to lovers story you seem to of read them all as they seem to have the same story but what Carrie Ann Ryan does is take a story and spin it off its axis, throw in a few familiar faces to help out and what we have is a fantastic story. All of these can be read as a stand alone but a read of a few book to get an understanding might be a good idea.

Fabulous finale to a great series. This was a fabulous finale to the Whiskey and Lies series. Following the relationship of the final Collins brother Loch, and his best friend Ainsley, this book was gripping and spine tingling with action, mystery and as ever a wonderful love story. There is so much adventure pack into one book, dark secrets from his past, murder, kidnapping, and extortion; and yet despite these dark threads to this story, it was a rich, colourful and joyful tapestry of family, friendship and love. A joy to read and I highly recommend this book and this series. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Loved It - Fantastic. I so enjoyed these two together, but their story touched me emotionally, it was so moving! Warning there you will need your tissues handy! As usual Carrie Ann Ryan has written a story that pulls at your heartstrings, holds your attention and reaches deep inside you. You can not help but be moved by this book. Ainsley and Loch are best friends, they have been for ages, neither one of them thought they would ever be more than that. Then the mother of his child decided that she didn't want to be involved with Loch or their precious daughter anymore and signed over all parental rights - how can a mother do that? Loch basically became a single parent and Ainsley became even more involved in Loch's life. She was always there to help him with his daughter in any way she could. Ainsley had always loved Loch but was afraid to tell him, she feared she might lose her best friend and Loch was very afraid of changing things between them because after his experience with the mother of his child he now has deep-seated issues regarding relationships. Then, things come to a head, we get to see how wrong Loch's fears and thoughts regarding a future with Ainsley truly are, and how determined Ainsley really is. I loved the way that she fought for what she wanted and finally made her best friend see what they could really have together if he would just let go of this fears. These two are made for each other the chemistry between them is palpable and hot, and because of their familiarity and friendship and trust built up over such a long time they really do know each other better than most and they deserve to have their HEA but they will have to fight not only their fears but forces from Loch's past. I read an ARC of this book and am voluntarily writing my review.

Great, Great,Great !!!!!. This is the last book in the series and have been waiting for Loch and Ainsley !! When their trouble The Collinses are in the middle and they protect their families !! They have been best friends for years and they finally got off their a**es to be more. I received a free book for a review.

I want a sticker. The Final book in the Whiskey and Lies Series is the one that will have you coming undone. Loch and Ainsley have been best friends forever, she has been there by his side every time he needed her. As things get tense and danger lurks in the shadows from Loch’s past, he may just have to push the one person he needs the most away to keep her safe. As jealousy, hurt, fear and frustration come crashing down these two may have to finally face that they don’t just love each other but are in fact in love with each other. Their story is angsty, witty, emotional and seriously steamy. A friends to lovers romance that is nothing short of being like top shelf whiskey. You will fall hopelessly in love with these two and hoping that they offer you a sticker. The epilogue gives us a sense of completion to this family of characters that we have grown to love.

Loch and Ainsley. As this is the third book in the series we already know and love all the characters and have just been waiting for Loch and Ainsley to realise what everyone else already knows, that they make the perfect couple. This is a romance but there is a lot of suspense mixed in and of course no good romance is complete without a little heartbreak. I cried but there is a happy ending, and it is nice to catch up with all the Collins family members and see how they are getting along.
