Shot on Goal by Jami Davenport Book Summary
When you're at the top, there's nowhere to go but down.
Two talented skaters. Two bright futures. Two shining stars. One ruined by a career-ending scandal and another by a father's ruthless ambition.
Marina Sanders was the darling of the winter games, winning a bronze in figure skating one week after losing both parents in a car accident. Four years later, she was the most hated woman in America.
Drew Delacorte was the future of the Sockeyes hockey team, crowned the best young player in the league and heir-apparent to the hockey throne once occupied by his father. Only Drew doesn't want that throne. Despite being in the prime of his career, he's considering hanging up his skates.
Together they're fire and ice, and when things get that hot, they melt. Can these two broken souls find comfort and courage in each other's arms or will they find only pain and regret?

Game Winner!. What happens when an ex-figure skating princess and a future hockey hall of famer meet? You can feel the heat through the screen/pages while you read. Marina Sanders had won an Olympic bronze medal in figure skating just a short time after her parents died in a car accident. At the next winter games all of that fan love came crashing down on her when some events happened causing not just her but other skaters from missing the podium. She ran to Europe for awhile and had hoped it would all be behind her when she accepted a temporary contract with the Seattle Sockeyes hockey team. She would be working with each player as a skating coach in an attempt to gain an edge while the team was hoping to not only make it but win the Stanley Cup. Drew Delacorte didn't love hockey anymore, in fact he almost hated it. He wanted to find that love again, the fun of playing, the excitement of passing and the thrill of scoring a goal, those things were gone now. The pressure of his father (former NHL player) being verbally abusive in his attempt to push Drew to play better and the guilt of his brother dying while saving him had made him lose it all. One night he went to the rink to skate and was at first upset Marina was there at all. But by the end of the night he was glad she had been because she brought a little bit of light back into his game. Little did either of them realize how much of a connection they had when they were together both on and off the ice. Marina would help Drew find the hockey passion again and stand up to his father while Drew would help Marina find herself and know she could fall in love. The problem was they couldn't let Drew's parents find out, let alone the rest of the players and staff. For if they did as quick as the flame between them ignited, it could easily be snuffed. Another game winner for Jami Davenport with this book. Her ability to take basic words and put them into a book that you do not want to put down is almost as magically as the book itself. This is a book that you will not be disappointed in at all.
The Right Stuff!. Wow what a book. I have read all of this authors sports Romance books and this is absolutely my favorite. It has the right amount of actions, drama and romance. The characters are superb. I sense spin off series from this book. If I remember right the PI business was mentioned previously. Jami has an incredible skill when it comes to intertwining characters of different backgrounds and different phases in life. The characters Drew and Marina are beautiful characters looking for a direction in which to follow. Jamiās style of writing makes you see and feel these characters.
Emotional. Marina and Drew were truly like fire and ice. Going from one extreme to the next while they tried avoid the inevitable. The story was full of emotion, passion, self-discovery, setting boundaries, and family. I enjoyed watching their relationship grow and change as well as watching them both find their own confidence in their decisions. A great addition to the series!
Great series. This was a great series. I enjoyed each and every book, from the first to the last.

Great read. Book 11 in the Game on in Seattle Series featuring the Seattle Sockeyes Hockey Team and for me this series is just getting better and better with every book I read and please donāt be put off by this being book 11 because each book is about a different player and they can all be read as a stand-alones. Drew comes from Hockey Royalty his father was one of the greats and his brother was destined for great things before a tragic accident took his life so itās now up to Drew to play not only for himself but also for his father and the ghost of his brother but is this the life he really wants what used to be fun has turned into just a job and a job he isnāt doing very well..... Marina was on track for Olympic history as a figure skater but being young and reckless she ruined any chance of that and now the only option she has is helping the Seattle Sockeyes with their skating edges. The attraction between Drew and Marina is instant and the chemistry sizzling but can they both put the past in the past and move on and will Drewās family and team politics allow it......... I loved this book from the very first chapter and I couldnāt put it down until I had read the last line, both characters needed help they both had issues that had broken them but together they became strong and I,over the depth and strength that Drew and Marina showed as they processed with their love story. This is a must read for all sports and hockey fans as well as all romance lovers.
A great addition to the series. 5 star Review Shot On Goal: Seattle Sockeyes Hockey (Game On In Seattle #11) by Jami Davenport This is book 11 in the series and another winner for Jami Davenport in my humble opinion; it most certainly can be read as a stand alone. This is Drew Delacorte and Marina Sanders story. I absolutely loved Drew and Marina, two people hurt by their pasts yet equally determined to rise from the ashes and move on. Every time I read a book in this series, I think āoh this is my favouriteā and then along comes Jami Davenport with another Seattle Sockeyes novel to prove me wrong. Drew is the son of one of the leagues most famous players, so he has a lot of expectations riding on his shoulders and these have caused him to resent and hate the game he is playing. Since his brother died, itās all on him to succeed and yet he is considering retiring. Marina is an elite figure skater, winner of an Olympic bronze medal, the woman who after making bad decisions, lost it all and now has to scramble to get her life back together. When Marina is recruited to get the team ready for the play-offs, sparks fly between Drew and her. However these two have a shared past that may not be so easy to put behind them. Will the chemistry and obvious attraction be enough for them to overcome the painful hurts of the past and find a future together or are they destined to be torn apart? From the start of Shot On Goal I wanted these two to get together and remain that way. Can they each work through the troubles of their pasts and in doing so find a love that is strong enough to survive? I love that Ms.Davenportās characters are not perfect, they are flawed and the situations they find themselves in are easy to relate too, her characters are strong and her stories well written. Ms. Davenport had me hooked from the first to the last chapter; Shot On Goal is a powerful story that I recommend you one click.
The Heart knows what it wants.. Marina is trying to put her life back together after a career-ending scandal. Drewās having a mid-life crisis at 26, is he living his life or what should have been his brotherās. From the moment Drew and Marina meet they rub each other the wrong way but at the same time you can feel the sparks flying off the page. Working together and trying to resist one another they find what they are missing in life. Another heartfelt story of love, self discovery of whatās most important in life and about discovering who is most important, follow your heart and being true to yourself. Loved this story, Jamiās done it again can be read as a stand along, a must read in this fabulous hockey series.
