Salvation by Peter Hamilton. Impenetrable garbage. He writes like his tummy is upset, actually naming non-relevant characters who appear once. Who does that? I’m several hundred pages in and refuse to finish this claptrap. Waste of money.

No thanks. Just couldn’t get into it. Clumsy. Poor character development. Made it to 1/3 the way through and hung it up. Next.

Sounds familiar…?. I absolutely love Peter Hamilton, but wormholes and an alien on a distant planet? Pandoras Star/Judas Unchained all over again? I mean, i’m gonna buy it and read it irregardless. But the premise seems rehashed from a Peter Hamilton perspective. I would expect more. Written 2-8-2018, waaaayyy before release date.

Fantastic Edge of Your Seat Storytelling!. PFH expertly threads multiple stories to tell a gripping sci-fi mystery. Once I got 40 or so pages in, I couldn’t put this book down.

Another Great Book. This book is a background for the ones to come. It is not an exciting read since it helps to understand who the key characters are and sets up the plot. I expect the next book will involve a lot more action typical of Hamilton.

Dull. Characters driven by plot points rather than development creates a cliche and formulated heap of duh. This is a painfully slow book to read and contains no intriguing dynamic because everyone is one dimensional. Could not read all the way through

Ridiculously entertaining. I had a hard time putting my phone down lol. It was a great read. Excited for the next two books!!

Could have been great. Really interesting concept. For me I wish there was a touch higher ratio of action to intrigue. I found the inclusion of homosexuality, and transgenderism as an unpleasant distraction which is personal preference; but the concept of it becoming an evolutionary peak to be nonsensical from a scientific standpoint, but I guess the author needed to put the fiction part into science-fiction.

It just clunks along. The concept of a “portal” for instantaneous transportation has been explored by many authors. Hamilton’s extrapolations are imaginative but implausible. Reading Salvation is like watching a movie where the first half consists entirely of establishing shots. After a while you lose interest.
