Exciting read!. Secrets We Keep continues Barbara Freethy’s series on the Callaway cousins. On his first day back at work after a severe fall firefighter Hunter Callaway makes a gruesome discovery...a body hidden behind a wall in the burned out house where his once teenage girlfriend lived as a foster child. The discovery puts him back in touch with Cassidy, whom he has not seen for fourteen years. Old feelings are rekindled as they try to help authorities find out the details of the murder and arson. The foster home was not a happy place for Cassidy and her experience left her with trust issues, but other fosters tell a different story about the couple who took children in. Who is telling the truth about what actually happened there? This is classic Freethy...good plot, excellent writing, evasion, suspense, suspicion, and yes, a little heat. I devoured the advance copy of this book and am happy to voluntarily review. Most highly recommend!

Fabulous Book!. Back to the Callaway Family! What a fabulous book filled with drama, suspense, mystery and love! I was so happy to see Hunter and Cassidy get there HEA! I couldn’t put this book down until I got to the end! Barbara writes the best suspense, mystery, love stories!

Great ending to the Calloway Cousin Series. The final book in the Callaway Cousin series is Hunter Callaway and Cassidy Ellison’s story. They were high school sweethearts. Cassidy broke Hunter’s heart when she runs away on the the night of their junior prom. She runs away from her foster home with another boy Tommy from the home which made Hunter ever more upset. Fourteen years later a fire in the foster home uncovers a grim murder that will bring Hunter and Cassidy back in each other’s lives. True to a Barbara Freethy book there is suspense, romance, and twists and turns that keep the reader guessing and wanting to finish to find out all the answers. I am sad to see this series end but know there will be another exciting series with characters who will take us on new adventures. You can read this book on it’s own but is always great to catch up with the Callaway Family.

Another Callaway hit. Yeah for the Callaways. If you don’t know them, start reading, you won’t be disappointed. Just sad this is the last Callaway story. Barbara’s stories keep you so engrossed with the characters you feel like you are part of the family. Just enough romance to keep the love flowing with lots of mystery and suspense. Another fantastic read. This one took me a little longer to read, not cause it wasn’t a great read, just did not want it to end. Of course I highly recommend. Since it is getting a little cooler outside warm up with these cost romance suspense books, you will not be sorry.

Loved it!. Secrets We Keep by Barbara Freethy is the latest in the Callaway books. It stars Hunter, the injured firefighter who rode his motorcycle to South America, and Cassidy, his high school sweetheart. Note: this review contains spoilers! It all starts when Hunter back on the job discovers a body in the walls of the place where Cassidy used to live as a foster child. She disappeared on him 14 years ago, but this can’t be her, can it? If it isn’t, then where is she? Did she really run away with Tommy like she said? But it’s Tommy in the wall and Cassidy is found working in landscaping garden center. Unfortunately, Tommy’s death isn’t the only secret from that foster home. What happened to Molly, the girl that everyone one else said Cassidy made up? And when the foster dad’s car went off the road and killed him, was it an accident like everyone said, or something more sinister? Barbara does an excellent job of weaving self discovery, romance, and suspense into this book! It was beautiful how both Hunter and Cassidy learned to trust and love again. And I didn’t figure out the mystery so I was on the edge of my seat to find the really bad guy! I hope you enjoy this book as much as I did!

Phenomenal. Full of the action-packed suspense and sizzling romance that Freethy is known for, the conclusion leaves you satisfied. This rapid page turner will have you on the edge of your seat from cover to cover.

Another well written, suspenseful, mystery, danger and romance all rolled into this book. While part of a series this book can be read as a standalone, but once you read any of theses books you will come back for more!! Cassidy Ellison and Hunter Callaway were high school sweethearts until Cassidy ran ways with another boy from the foster home she was living in at the time. Now years later she is a suspect in a gruesome crime at the foster home and has to return to her past and Hunter. Hunter Callaway makes a gruesome discovery when he and his crew are dispatched to a fire at the foster home of his high school sweetheart. Little does he know that finding the answers to Cassidy's past may be what brings them to a future together....

Loved it!. Barbara Freethy is a master at weaving romance with intrigue and mystery. “Secrets We Keep” is no exception. I was drawn in from the very first paragraph till the last. This book features firefighter Hunter Callaway. His first day back on the job takes him to a fire at a house that brings memories of his high school girlfriend Cassidy. A gruesome discovery triggers a series of events that bring Cassidy and Hunter back in contact as they try to solve the secrets of the past. I could not put this book down as I followed the journey of Hunter and Cassidy. Kudos to Barbara Freethy for this five star read.

Secrets We Keep. I've always been a huge fan of anything Barbara Freethy writes, and in particular I love anything to do with the Callaways. Love how there are always members of the Callaways in each of these books - makes you feel like they are real and you wished you were friends with all of them. Anyone who is a fan of second chance at love, will enjoy this as well. Hunter and Cassidy fell in love in High School. Hunter's heart was broken when Cassidy ran away with he thought another guy. Not knowing all the circumstances with Cassidy other than she was in foster care, he is heartbroken. Fast forward several years later, when Hunter is called to battle a fire at the very foster home that Cassidy had lived at. With the discovery of a body within the walls of the garage, a murder investigation is opened, and all foster children who lived there, particularly around the time Cassidy ran away, are questioned by police. Hunter and Cassidy work together to try to solve this mystery, and in the process discover that old feelings never die. Loved the mystery trying to figure out who killed Tommy (and who will do anything to try to stop them), and watching an old love story be revived.

Another great Callaway book!. This is a very entertaining book! Each book in the Callaway series has been wonderful. The characters are very engaging. I liked that several of the characters from the previous books were part of this story. This book had a fast-moving plot that held my interest through the end. I totally recommend this book along with all of the books in the series.
