Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec Book Summary

A struggling antiques collector finds herself falling in love with a millionaire playboy; but can she ever be a part of his world?

Meet the Naughty Princess Club, a series from USA Today bestselling author Tara Sivec that brings readers to Fairytale Lane and the hilarity—and romance—that three women fall into once they decide to strut their stuff and bring on their own happily ever after.

While her friends have broken free of their insecurities, Ariel Waters is struggling to come out of her shell. Her ex-husband took away her voice and her self-confidence, and Ariel is drowning under a sea of debt to afford the alimony she has to pay him. She refuses to ever fall for a man’s charms again, and is determined to make her own way.

When her house and her beloved antiques are taken by the bank after too many missed payments, Ariel finds herself adrift until the infuriatingly charming Eric Sailor comes to her rescue. Although she can’t stand the millionaire playboy, Eric’s kindness and unconditional support reveal hidden depths and a love that Ariel never imagined she could find.

But there are outside influences who will stop at nothing to keep them apart; can Ariel and Eric weather the storm and find a way to be together in Kiss the Girl?

Appealing Reimagining of a Classic. This was my first read for this author and while this was the third book in the series, it definitely can be read as a standalone. However, at times I did feel like I might be missing out on something by not reading the first two books. This was quite the retelling of Disney's version of The Little Mermaid. When I started this book I began to wonder what I had gotten myself into, because Ariel has some serious anger issues. This is all explained before you even get thru a quarter of the book. Once the reason is explained for her anger, it all makes sense (even if it was a little over the top) and I had a hard time putting this book down. There are plenty of laugh out loud moments and the sexy times are steamy. The book knocks down the fourth wall and pokes fun at itself for the Disney references. Ursula doesn't make her full on strike until about the 75% mark and I was worried that the author wasn't going to be able to pull it all together in the end, but she proved me wrong. Take away the Disney references and you still have a solid story about friends sticking together and being there for each other no matter what. I'll have to checkout the first two books in the series. Also loved the ending and how it all came together, didn't really see it going down that way.

Updated twist on a Disney classic. 3.5 Stars Kiss the Girl is my first novel by Tara Sivec. I liked the twist on a fairy tale and how she wove in characters from The Little Mermaid into the story line. That being said, I struggled with this book. I think that not having ready book 1 and 2 was a bit of a disadvantage. While it could be read as a stand alone, I was taken aback by Ariel's abrasive nature and sailors mouth. I couldn't really understand what Eric saw in her and frankly wouldn't have wanted to be in the same room, let alone friends with her. I seem to be in the minority and will read the first two books on the series to see if my opinion of Ariel changes at all. I received this ARC from NetGalley and had no influence on my opinion.

So Much Fun!. Kiss The Girl is SO MUCH FUN!! I needed a funny story to get me out of a book hangover and this was perfect.. It’s a Little Mermaid fairytale retelling with strippers and sexy times!! “...the way he’s looking at me right now. Like he’s amazed. Like he’s grateful. Like I’m the best thing that’s ever told him to eat sh*! and die.” Ariel is a sarcastic mouthy B- aitch with attitude for miles. Tough times seem to be snowballing and piling up one thing on top of another. Ariel is hiding her pain and scars under a hard exterior and trying to prove that she is a strong woman. “I’m crying because of a guy. A GUY. An annoying, sweet, charming, hot, funny guy who Kool-Aid-man smashed his way through all the walls I built around myself without my even knowing it.” Eric kind of swoops in. He quietly leads Ariel toward healing herself. He helps her to see that she can be in control of her own destiny. “...but he’s been texting me nonstop, sending me pictures of Derrick Alfredo. Dozens of pictures of his devil cat wearing one ridiculous sweater after another, asking me which one makes him look the manliest. The hell beast is growing on me. And so is the cat.” Kiss The Girl is the third book in The Naughty Princess Club series. Each book can be read as a standalone, but the characters from the previous books do play a large part in this story. This was my first book in this series, but I will immediately be picking up the first two books and catching up!! -5 Stars!!-

Review: The Naughty Princess Club 3: Kiss The Girl. Kiss the Girl by Tara Sivec is the third book in her latest Naughty Princess Club series. Finally, the story of Ariel and her feisty ways. Told from Ariel's POV we get an inside look at the feisty, mouthy princess that has yet to perform at Charming's and earn her stripper stripes. We get to see another side of Eric and how sweet and charming he can be. The story is well-written and well-paced, absolutely laugh-out-loud hilarious, sexy and complete with a fairy-tale ending. Enjoy!

Entertaining great read. Finally! Ariel is front and center and wow her book was fantastic! I just knew that it would be a great read cause that girl is a riot. While Ariel is outspoken and fun, we saw a side to her that I wasn’t expecting but was nice to read about. There is so much more to her than we initially see. And Eric was just the most swooniest guy out there. We don’t get to see much of him in the previous books but in this one, he shines brightly. I loved how sweet and genuine he was with Ariel. He truly cares for her and it was fun to see how he would break down her walls. The progression of Ariel and Eric’s relationship was a joyous journey. These two were explosive and I loved that. But of course, it would not be smoothing sailing. There was a bit of a trouble and it was interesting to see how it would all play out. I loved seeing Cindy and Belle. They are just the best friends and seeing these girls form an unlikely friendship was beautiful. Kiss the Girl was fun, sweet, and just awesome! And the epilogues were great. I loved seeing the HEAs of Cindy and Charming, Belle and Vincent, and Ariel and Eric after it was all said and done. I mean they are fairytales after all. The Naughty Princess Club have been an fun and magnificent series! I have enjoyed all three books and I loved these characters. Plus the covers are amazing. Wonderful job on all the books Tara.

Ok.... Tara Sivec has been on TBR for a while so when I was offered this book, I decided to jump in. I struggled with this book. Not because I had a hard time suspending my ideas of the Disney princesses and accepting that this version is profanity laden and a little raunchy but because Ariel had like zero qualities of nice person at all. During the first chapter I was like I don't think I like her. By the third, I really didn't like her an didn't think I ever would. The best part of this book is Eric. He's romantic and he does everything he can to empower Ariel. I think I would have has a better appreciation of this book if I had read the first two books of this series first. I probably wouldn't have been all that surprised by Ariel's brash personality and also maybe, seeing her through her friends' eyes, would have been able to see some positive qualities. I'm on the fence of whether I'll read the other books in this series but this was a pretty interesting take on a fairy tale that we all know so well. *This is my voluntary review of an advanced reader copy*

Saved the Best for Last!. What a great way to wrap up this series! I have been waiting for Ariel's book from the moment I met her in At the Stroke of Midnight. I knew that her book would have the most laughs and craziest moments thanks to her sassy, take no prisoners attitude. Though this is the 3rd book in The Naughty Princess Club, it can be read as a standalone. I do feel that readers will enjoy this one most though if they have read the previous books, since Ariel can be an acquired taste for some. The enemies to lovers trope isn't always my favorite, but I loved how Tara Sivec did it this time around. I was very pleasantly surprised by Eric throughout this book. Seeing another side to both Ariel and Eric was wonderful. Up to this point, Ariel (and her interactions with Eric) have always been comic relief in this series, so it was nice to finally know her motivations and see this more vulnerable side to her. The trip to the flea market as well as the scene at the storage unit at the end were so sweet and funny. Yes, Ariel is pretty brash and curses like a Sailor (pun intended!), but I felt like her insecurities and fears were the most relatable of all the heroines in this series. Throw in some amazingly hilarious secondary characters and this was romcom gold! I especially loved Ariel's father, Mr. Triton, and Eric's cat, Derrick Alfredo. I'm always impressed by the author's ability to weave in connections and nods to the original fairy tales and I thought the tie-ins were fantastic additions to the story. Yes, the drama was a bit predictable, but I felt that the overall message of believing in yourself and bolstering/helping others rise was so important. Building others up, instead of using that energy to tear each other down, is a huge theme in this series and it really came full circle in this book. The epilogue especially left me with a HUGE smile on my face and I really couldn't have asked for a better way to close this series! *I voluntarily read an advance reader copy of this book*

Five flirty stars!!. This is Kiss The Girl, book 3 in the Naughty Princess Club series, written by Tara Sivec. This book is about Ariel, the last single lady in the Naughty Princess trio. Ariel has always come off as a strong and tough woman. As a woman, we can all understand that she is only putting on a strong front to hide multitudes of insecurities. Eric is part owner of Charming’s Gentlemen’s club, which is where he met Ariel. There is a lot going on in this book and you will not want to miss a minute if it!! I would love more of the trios stories!

Great Ending to the Series!. Just like the first two, Kiss the Girl was a hoot! I think it's my second favorite of the series. Ariel has a lot of sass to her, but she also has a lot more that we got to see throughout the book. She has a soft and emotional side to her as well. I felt really bad for her multiple times during the book. She's had a rough past that makes her second guess herself. She deserves to be happy, respected, and loved. Eric is a great character! He's more than what we got to see in the first two books. He has a really sweet side to him that I loved seeing. He does a lot for Ariel and it is definitely swoon-worthy. He has some smooth lines that's for sure. Their whole relationship is hilarious yet adorable. The storyline had a few twists and turns that I wasn't expecting so that kept it interesting. Kiss the Girl had a whole bunch of Little Mermaid references which I really appreciated and loved. I was very happy that the epilogue included updates from all the characters, it definitely made me smile.

Definitely worth the read!. Fantastic ending to this fairytale series. Absolutely loved Eric and Ariel. An endearing story that will make you laugh out loud. Eric is totally swoon worthy. Ariel cracks me up with her attitude and sass. Definitely worth the read.

So entertaining!!!. The final book in The Naughty Princess Club gives us Ariel and Eric's story. The little glimpses we got of Eric in the previous books made him out to seem like kind of a sleezy playboy. I really didn't think I was going to like his character but I ended up liking him the most out of all three heroes. He was so NOT sleazy. The way he knew how to handle the prickly Ariel was not only entertaining but also very sweet and caring. He is the character that surprised me the most and in a majorly good way. Ariel has been a ball buster from the beginning but when we finally got her story, it was actually pretty sad and explains why she was so much bluster. She came off very angry in this book and she has good reason. It was a bit much at times, but there was also some really funny moments when she went into her tirades. I really got a kick out of Belle in this book. Now that she is with Vincent, her shy, nerdy persona had a bit of a temptress to it. That combination was pretty funny. Cindy, Belle and Ariel have the kind of friendship I loved to read in books. They have solidarity, are completely crazy most of the time and entertaining to read about. All three books in this series have been very loosely based off Disney fairytales. You can pretty much guess which one's with these character names but make no mistake, these are not Disney stories. All three books have been so much fun to read and I highly recommend them! ARC provided by NetGalley.

Favorite Princess. I love this smart mouthed princess. Ariel has always been my favorite, and Kiss the Girl made me love her even more. So many laughs, and crazy shenanigans with this group. I wish there was more coming. Eric and Ariel forever.
