Wonderful story from the heart. Looking from a non political standpoint meaning IM not at a voting booth I’m here to read a book, I loved it.. I wasn’t involved strongly in politics until a few years ago even now I’m not. I’m just more aware. She obviously is a human being first with a story to tell.

Since Apple seems not to filter the reviews, I’m balancing out the racist below (username: irirti3345), who has referred to Michelle Obama as a “disgusting, big black gorilla.” (As of 12/7/2020, their awful comment is still up.) Michelle is a gem of a human. She is smart, considerate, kind, and strong. (And yes, beautiful, but that is neither here nor there.) A racist like that person cited above does not deserve to have a cell phone, let alone a platform on that cell phone where they can spew their racist nonsense and skew review ratings while doing it. Ignore the racists. Report them however you can. And enjoy a lovely book by a wonderful human who reminds us to always go high when they go low.

A must read. As an African American women, I love seeing black women thrive and listening to their perception of life! Michelle’s voice is soothing and I can’t literally envision myself as her as a child going through struggles and growing up to end in the White House, with more to come. I’d read it again :)

Great Book. It was great to read her life and journey to becoming the first Black First Lady of the USA. Her parents instilling in her she could do anything, her love for family, and sacrifice of her career for a bigger cause makes me love her more.

Beautifully written. Compelling. Entertaining. Inspiring. Heartbreaking. Heartwarming. Educating. Enlightening. Empowering. Becoming is a beautifully written memoir by the former FLOTUS, Michelle Obama, that is worth your time reading. To be completely honest, I am not a bibliophile (although I’ve always intended to be) and I have a bad habit of not finishing what I started when it comes to books or ebooks, but when I get into the groove of things, I carefully pick what is worth my time. So I made a vow to savor every page of this digital publication until the end of it and I did not regret a thing at all. This one did not disappoint, it’s that kind of book that you can’t put down once you started reading (at least for me, although it took me quite a while to finish.😅) I felt like it was narrated by my sister, my friend, my confidante, my mother, my mentor and my advocate all at the same time. Thank you @michelleobama for giving us a glimpse of your life and for sharing your story to the world that is meant to inspire the many. Thank you for all that you and former Mr. President @barackobama have done, and for all that you still do.❤️❤️❤️

Disappointing. This book provides no motivation into change , the Obama’s never accompany their books with actions . They never help families , single families or children that can really benefit from their guidance . Actions speak volumes … no thanks ! last time I waste money on an Obama Book ….

Great!. Great book! Open and vulnerable enough to give personal insight on one of the most historical presidencies ever but careful not to give too much in not only respect but in wariness of something said coming back in a lowlight. Her childhood was interesting as well. Learned a lot about First Lady! Again a great read! Highly recommended!

Inspiring story. I developed an admiration for Michelle Obama during the 08 campaign. This wonderfully engaging book makes me feel I know her. I appreciate the honesty and depth with which she examines her life’s story, & I think she ’ll always be “my First Lady”. I recommend this book, not only as an enjoyable read, but for the insight it brings to the experience of being in the spotlight & making a difference in our world.

Michelle you have a heart of gold.. Michelle Obama is a smart funny woman. More than this she is a loving person, mom, wife, citizen, and daughter. I enjoyed her open style and her insights.

The light at the end of a long dark tunnel. The timing of this book was highly appropriate for me because politics, war, division in our country, along with post pandemic social healing, it reminded me that there are still truthful, socially conscious people and leaders who can run a country for all the right reasons and believe in the greater good. Thank you for such a bright light at the end of what has been a long dark tunnel.

“Becoming” is a gem!. This book touched my heart and gave me encouragement by reading Michelle Obama’s story that no matter where you come from or the color of your skin, you matter in this world. Well written, witty, and enlightening!!!!!

An Outstanding Story from a Down to earth woman. First Lady Michelle Obama’s Becoming touches me profoundly. I’m astounded my how she shares intimate moments from a public life with a fantastic, warm grace. As another African American woman, I loved the intelligence and patience she discovered within herself even when she, her daughters or husband faced the simple challenge of trying to do for others because others have done for them. I wish The First Black family all the love their hearts can hold. This message comes from a Texas gal to a South Side chick.

Empty. If this book is a true uncensored look into Michelle’s life, it feels empty to me. I feel she knew she could have done so much but held back. This is subject to change if and when I meet her. However, a quote that will stay with me from her is: parenting is a masterclass in letting go.

Michele Obama’s book is full of historical events that affected her family the book is about the people that they met and it all revolves around her family and the effect presidency had on malia and Saha their two daughters the book dosent include many dates but it includes a few with the exact timing. I think this is a very good book to read if you are a fan of history or if you like the empowerment of women. It tells a powerful story of one of the most remarkable women in history.

And learn as you go about the chaos and muddy roads of our media and national politics. Wow! One of the greatest books I’ve ever read.. Wow! It’s no wonder that I’ve heard quite a lot of people speaking so highly of this book. Michelle and Barack have been one of my people-inspirations when it comes to mastering English as my second language and as becoming a better human being. Through the pages, we easily got that Michelle went through a lot. But, seeing that she imposed herself to keep her privacy as a wife, mother, a daughter makes her be considered even more one of a kind of woman! Nowadays, it has not been easy maintaining stable relationships, and she did really well having to manage quite a lot of people out of her family! It’s no wonder that she’s been worshiped by a lot of people worldwide. It broke my heart to read every time she got her heart broken, but kept her head up and commiserated with so many families. I’m happy to have had the opportunity to get to know Michelle’s viewpoint about a lot of controversial topics, even she’s not feeling comfortable about politics. I did wish I’d read more about what happened during the presidential election, what she thinks of what the fate of the U.S would be like in the upcoming years. However, I know that we gotta be careful when it comes expressing our thoughts of others, especially in times, where it’s easy to be labeled as whatever people like to call us when intending to put us down. We, who belong to minority groups have been misled to believe that we are not worthy of love, better opportunities and that we should live like ghosts. This is what has felt like being black, gay, woman, Latino, et cetera. Reading this book, made me feel stronger as a gay-Latino-black math professor! Thank you, Michelle, for all your efforts to allow us to get to know more of you, your family, and legacy! The best of luck! 🇧🇷❤️

Becoming Michelle Obama. I am listening to the audiobook version of this book. I am loving it. What a great descriptive writer she is.

Warm and Fascinating. Well, first of all, who on earth reads a sample of a book and then decides that is enough to rate and review it?! I’m Canadian, and my life and experiences couldn’t be more different than Ms. Obama’s, yet somehow she managed to make even me feel like I could be friends with her and relate to her. The book is well written, interesting, and warm. She doesn’t boast or fish for compliments or sympathy, unlike some of the undeserving public figures out there. She just tells her story. You can rest assured that the absurdly low ratings on here are shills and trolls who have not read the book, and who are just angry and bitter that the Obamas are loved and respected by millions of people inside, and outside, the US, and after reading her book, you will know why.

This, of course, speaks volumes as to its riveting historical content, blended and told through the eyes of the girl next door! Outstanding. An excellent job! I can identify with the author although my skin is white and I was born in a small town in Canada to parents who are French Canadian with First Nation descendants. Although I’m not a fan of memoirs and autobiographies, I knew I had to read this one simply because of the « type » of person Mrs. Obama is. Everything I saw in her or thought about her was confirmed in this book. What a great First Lady she was and a great Woman she is. An inspiration for us all!

A book to be cherished! Truly, a memorable and insightful read!. This book is a very frank, thoughtful and poignant account of the former First Lady’s life, leading up to, during, and after, life at the White House. Michelle Obama offers insight into how her upbringing has shaped her and made her into one of the leading role models, women can look up to. She shared the driving force behind what has always motivated her and Barack, which culminated in their 8 years at the White House. She shared her drive to to leave behind a legacy of an impeccable standard of selflessness in her work, always mindful that it needed to serve a greater purpose - to leave the world a better place then the one they grew up in. Her book is beautifully written, and warm in its tone, as if one is having a conversation with her. It was truly an honour to have the former FLOTUS share so much if herself with all of us! A memorable, inspiring and unforgettable book, written by one of the most iconic citizen’s of the world! A gracious and heartfelt thank you to Michelle for sharing so much of herself with all of us!!!
