Watching (The Making of Riley Paige—Book 1) by Blake Pierce Book Summary

“A masterpiece of thriller and mystery! The author did a magnificent job developing characters with a psychological side that is so well described that we feel inside their minds, follow their fears and cheer for their success. The plot is very intelligent and will keep you entertained throughout the book. Full of twists, this book will keep you awake until the turn of the last page.”

When the FBI hits a dead end, they are impressed enough by Riley’s keen insight into the killer’s mind to allow her to help. Watching - The Making of Riley Paige #1. Another excellent book by Blake Pierce. I just had to finish it! I have read Books 1 and 2 of the Riley Paige series, plus one each of the series of Keri Locke and Avery Black. Each and every one was outstanding. I look forward to reading many more great books by this author.

Amazing page turner!!. I loved everything about this book. I normally read a chapter a day but instead I would binge read this book into the night! Sure there are a few spelling and grammatical mistakes but you can still understand what’s going on. I highly recommend this book if you are into mystery/thriller books.

Watching. Overall a good read. Some parts were slow and the material did not lend to the overall story.

Worth the read. This book is amazing!! I’m in the middle of the Riley Paige Series and when I caught word that this book was out, I had to take a break from the series and read this. Kept me highly interested throughout the whole novel! I highly recommend! You can even start with this book, before getting into the Riley Paige Series. Definitely worth the read!

Okay?. I’ve read the Riley Paige series, need something to do at work, but the grammatical errors are annoying. At some point the wrong characters name was used for an entire convo sequence. Who proofreads for you dude?

Watching the making of riley page. Absolutely wonderful reading!!!!!

Watching. Very good, fast with great action

👍👍. Great read. Easy to read, and always kept me turning the pages, setting on the edge of my seat.

Could use some editing. This book has potential but really needs an editor. There are parts that are jumbled and don’t make sense because people are referred to as “he” and “she” to talk about one single person. Some parts are too unrealistic and blatant. You can also only use “shocked” and “shuddered” so many times in a chapter before you really need to choose some other descriptive terms. The ending felt so rushed out of nowhere. At one point the main character sees and talks to her professor in the library and presumably less than an hour later calls his office and it’s written like they’ve not seen each other all day. The main characters name also gets a different last name of another character towards the end. All in all not a bad book, but could have been so much better

GREAT BOOK. If you like mystery, this is a book for you, you will never guess who did it!!!! I didn’t till near the end!

Love this author. I’ve read the other Riley Paige books and this one didn’t disappoint Worth the read

Watching. Oooooh noooo!!! How did I guess the killer waaaay too early in this book? Then I was off and on with him. At the ending events, I was right on. He was just too dang nice I guess. Glad Riley was saved by FBI Agent. We need more of her, and thankfully we are getting it. Great suspense.

Great book, but more than average amount of typos.. This was a really good book. I’m only giving it four stars because of all the typos. It usually doesn’t bother me, but there were so many that really changed the structure of the sentences. Other than that, well worth the read!

Good. Great story a few errors. Can teach students in College to be careful.

Watching. Don’t waste your time .

Good story. A bit predictable and there were a few typos (ex: being called Riley Paige on pg 715 when her last name was Sweeney) but other than that it was a fun book!

Good. I enjoyed the book.

Watching. I felt the story didn’t progress fast enough to hold your interest

Amazing. I absolutely loved it I couldn’t put it down

Watching. Good book. Surprising ending.

The making of Riley Paige. A great mystery and an author I highly recommend. I can’t wait to read the next in the series

Great book!. Really good book. Couldn’t put it down. I figured out the killer fairly quickly, but that’s the reason I read these books- to pretend i’m some investigator. A couple of editing mistakes but the plot more than made up for it.

Was instantly hooked can’t wait for the second one!. I loved this book and the characters

Watching. Excellent

Watching. Just an ok book.

Excellent. An excellent read; couldn’t put it down, highly recommend.

perfect ending!. This book really kept me on the edge of my seat really wondering who the killer was. I didn’t see the end coming and i love that most about this book! I can’t wait to read the next one!

Watching - Book 1. Super good. Only the best for Riley Paige.

Love. I always love Riley Paige books. There were several really big editing issues in this book though. At one point Riley is called Riley Paige even though that’s not her name yet. A second victim is called by the first victim’s name. These need to be fixed

Riley Paige series is a winner. So far, I really like Blake Pierce’s writing. I’m especially looking forward to finding out how Riley’s life and FBI career workout. I plan to check out all of his books.

Great plot. However, there were many times the wrong name or pronoun for characters were used.

Riveting…suspenseful…perfectly paced. I happened upon this book at random and decided to give it a shot and I was instantly hooked. The author did a beautiful job at pacing plot, conflict, and creating strong character development. Hands down, one of the best thriller books I’ve ever read.

Watching. Very good. Could not put it down. Can't wait to start next one.

Watching. I really enjoyed this book could not put it down. This author writes fast moving tales and they are wonderful. The only thing that I noticed is that it was poorly proofed. There are many places where the wording is scrambled and it is distracting to the reader which is a shame for such a fine work.

Fascinating Mystery *Spoilers*. The book overall was thrilling and suspenseful but that tends to be broken when the characters don’t have the right names. At one point right after the first murder there was a point where it was “Rhea said” in an active conversation and my first thought was ‘wait is this supposed to be a ghost story?’ Then for a MAJORITY of the book the main characters name isn’t Riley Paige, it’s Riley Sweeney, and the the supposed to be love interest was Ryan Paige. It was a running joke that Riley wouldn’t remember him or his name. Riley’s brief stint with drinking too much after Trudys murder didn’t make sense. She only drank wine before this, why that drink? Why did she start drinking out of depression only now? I hope these errors can maybe be edited and fixed one day because then it would be an amazing read.

Creep. Shady and weird

Ok. Ok

Suspense. I just couldn’t put it down. Looked forward to reading this book every night. I felt like I was right there with Rylie as she searched for the killer.

The beginning. It’s a great prequel to the Riley Paige series. The story has been alluded to in the series so it was great to read the full story.

Did not expect that. Brilliant, a few cliques but none the less I couldn’t put it down, bring on the next instalment.

Watching. It was really good but took a long time to find out who the killer was, the ending was a bit disappointing I thought you would of told Ryan that she was pregnant and she was going to d.c too. Overall good book.

Reads as very rushed story writing. Few mistakes in the plot, such as a character being in a place then suddenly not there. One character is referred to as male then suddenly female then back to male again. Wrong characters name is used a couple of times too. Comes across as very rushed writing and as though it’s literally not been edited. Unfortunately it does read as very amateurish.

Not good. I’ve read some of the Riley books before and really liked them but this one is awful. Sorry!

Amazing!. Its a amazing storyline, great descriptive language, enough exaggerated plot but enough to where its very enjoyable, for a free eBook is absolutely fantastic and worth giving a read.

Watching. Fantastic story

Blake BLAH Pierce. Blake Pierce's books are atrocious and an insult to serious fiction readers worldwide. The stories are something that a grade school student could slam together in a very short amount of time. The number of typos, grammatical errors, and plain bad English is unforgivable but when an author starts mixing up the names of their characters there is seriously something wrong, and Blake does this in every book that I have read. Blake does zero research which can probably be forgiven as none is required for his/her stories which is why Blake's books are so blah. I only read Blake's books when advertised as free on Bookbub (thankfully I have not parted with any of my hard earned cash) just to see if he/she has grown as an author after such prolific self publishing...unfortunately I have been disappointed on each occasion. Blake Pierce should consider doing a few writers’ workshops. Blake needs to put more time and effort and research into writing stories that will grab the attention of people for their intricacy, attention to detail, plot twists, and intrigue rather than churning out the pulp that we have come to expect from him/her. It is also time for Blake to stop self publishing and employ some professionals...editors, proof readers, copy editors...people that will actually tell him/her the truth, that people are not interested in such predictable, clichéd, recipe book fiction. NEVER AGAIN!

Seriously???. Dreadful, no more words to waste on this waste of words!

Great read. Thoroughly enjoyed this book. Got to read the next instalment.

Watching. Glad I didn’t pay for it. Pretty ordinary, don’t think I’ll continue with the series. Just not suspenseful enough for me. Struggled to stay interested.

Watching. Like all the other series which I have read, this is a page turner was unable to stop reading it from the minute I started. Blake Pierce has the ability to draw you into the story, to make you fell part of it. Loved it and can’t wait for the next one or the next realises of the other series which I have read. Jo

Gripping. A clever and gripping story with a twist at the end, that’s sure to please all readers

Good enough. A good story line, kept me interested and manages to finish the book in a few days. That being said, there definitely were a few grammatical errors. I had to read the sentence/paragraph a few times to realize, “okay, this isn’t just me reading it wrong. It’s the editing.” I’ve enjoyed getting to know Riley.

Intriguing !. Cannot wait to read the continuation

The making of Riley Page. Really good mystery but proofreading was terrible. Kept mixing up pronouns, her for him & vice versa

Watching. Interesting from the opening chapter. An easy read, interesting opening to a new series. Looking forward to second book.

Watching. Love a good mystery and this is it! Some people are very sensitive and intuitive that they can help with investigation
