I couldn’t put it down. This book had me hooked from the start. The huge twist towards the end was so unexpected!! I had to reread parts to be sure I’d gotten it correct. This is one of those books that stays with you for many days after you’ve finished it.

It's a don't stop reading until the end kinda book. It's very well written and the characters come to life. The ending was a surprise and not what I expected. I recommend.

Good story. The book itself was well written. I just don’t like ambiguous endings.

blast reading with no expectations but….  The overall story I enjoyed I just wished the ending was more fulfilling, and the way we find out about Theo walking & confronting the women which (spoiler) it was Alicia could’ve been written better.

Good Read. Well written Good twist

Still trying to decide if I love or hate this book. I had high hopes for this one, & while I am glad I read it, I think the reviews about the surprising plot twist fell flat. This book reminds me of the movie ‘Shutter Island’ in terms of the twist. Maybe if I were less experienced in this genre, it wouldn’t have been so predictable.

Mystery with Minor Suspense. A decent read. Was highly recommended on YouTube for horror/mystery genres. I got very little horror personally. The vibe was more mystery with a lot of drama involved.

The silent patient. Wow, my first book I actually did not stop reading! Someone was right when they said it’s hypnotizing! Once you pick it up it’s hard to put down and once you put it down it’s hard not to pick it up - I will definitely read all of his books!

December 26 2023. This book was very slow and hard to finish. Near the end the pace started to pick up, but was boring.

Yes!!!. Page Turner loved it!!

Great ending but slow. This is a great thriller but if you do not commit to finishing this book it does start off very slow. The book itself is very good and treating it keeps you thinking about the ending and keeps you trying to put everything together but as I said before the first three parts are slow in terms of thrill.

Not what I expected. I really was a bit confused at the end and after a second read of the book, I understood it now. Good book. I like how smooth the plots slide in together. (Spoiler)But I would prefer it more if there was like a chapter to separate the past and present instead of mixing the past into the present. It would made it understand more. Although it was quite clear in the end (didn’t need to re-read the whole book again- but I just did 😅) I still rate this book a good read for thriller fans. Manage to read it in one sitting. That was how interesting it was.

If you read a lot of books; the ending is predictable!. “But I had already diagnosed Barbie as almost entirely narcissistic; I doubted she was able to relate to others except as a function of her own needs.” With quotes such as those, and the protagonist bringing up interference of emotions between two people, specifically therapist & patient, and the protagonist often bringing up how a character in a certain scene is reflecting their inner state back to everyone- I just knew that this was low key what the protagonist had been doing the entire time. The protagonist was mirroring his own unstable mind back at us the entire time. And how did I know that? Because when you’ve been used all up by a psychopath in real life, you can spot them from a mile away… even when it’s a fictional thriller story such as this. The main character reminded me of Joe, from the TV show You… how he would stalk that one girl and assumed she had a crush on him because of par-asocial relationships and that weird phenomenon. I had that similar vibe from Theo, and I just knew that when he was just drawn to Alicia and just HAD to get into the Grove to help her, that something wasn’t right with him. When Christian said that Alicia had seduced Theo, and Theo got angry by that comment for the rest of the day… he even said to himself, “Has Alicia seduced me?” And I wanted to smack him upside his head through the book and be like WHAT IS WRONG WITH SOME GUYS IN THIS WORLD? She legit didn’t even talk to him at this point and had attacked him like a wild animal upon seeing him and confirming it was him that had been stalking her. I knew then that he probably had deserved it for something in the past. Now, even though what I wrote above may seem like I’m complaining about this book, I don’t want people to get it twisted because I did enjoy it. It had been a very fast & invested read. However, I do only give it 3/3.5 stars simply because I was able to start formulating ideas/hunches almost immediately about the ending of the book by page 24, which was solidified by page 50, with my hunches just being proven right with each turn of a page. and Due to it being so easily predictable, that’s why I must rate it a bit lower. I do still think it’s worth checking out though!

Loved it!. Loved this book. This book had me til the very end.

Predictable but a good read.. This book wasn’t the deep psychological thriller I was hoping for. It ended abruptly without really implying what happened to the two main characters. It was predictable but easy to follow and a decent read. I would recommend it to non intuitive readers.

Meh. This book was selected in my book club, I was excited to read it based on the reviews I saw of a big twist. However, I figured out the twist fairly quickly once I began the book. I enjoyed the story/plot, but found it similar to other books I have read. A lot of the dialogue sounded unnatural and odd, settings and characters were not defined in detail. Overall, I found this book to be poorly written and underwhelming.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. The first book i ever finished in less than one day✊ It was soooo good i lit could not put it down. The plot twist was unexpected and throughout the whole book i was on the edge of my seat. This book will always be memorable to me and be the first and best thriller i’ve ever read. It had you sympathizing for the main character when the whole time you didn’t even know he was the villain. the ending had me extremely confused and even when i had finished the book it still had me thinking about it!! def gon read more of alex’s works❤️❤️❤️

Keeps you guessing. Thriller puzzle that keeps you guessing. Down fall is slow climb to the climax and fast down fall.

Catchy.  This story sexual in from the very beginning. And the twist at the end is totally unexpected.

Just wow. It took me so long to finally pick this book up to read and I don’t regret it. It is definitely a slow burn so be prepared, but there is information relevant to the ending and a few things thrown in there to throw you off . I think the twist is controversial. Some people say they predicted it while others didn’t. I didn’t or at least not fully I think it was a satisfying finish and I would go back to reread a first time if I could !

Best read in a long time!. I can’t believe I’m only now discovering this book. You think you know where the story is going but then you can’t put the book down because you realize how wrong you may have been. Again and again. 10/10.

I want more. The twist was really cool, but i wanted more from the ending. I know it was purposefully done, but it felt like the author got tired of writing. Way too abrupt.

Engrossing. This is a rather odd but engrossing psychological thriller; very clever and well-written. It’s hard to put down once you begin reading.

Sooooo slow but cool ending. The book is very slow. Not action packed to say the least. Very unexpected ending that elevates the entire story.

READ THIS BOOK!!. By far one of the best books I have ever read. If you know what is good for you, you’ll read this book. It is almost addicting being so entangled in a book but I just couldn’t stop reading.

amazing!!. i only read a sample of the book so i could make sure it was worth the money before buying it. i saw a book review on it on youtube and i listened to it and just fell in love with the tone she said the book set. so i went on here and read it. it’s an amazing book! 5/5 stars!! definitely worth the money if you are into thrillers and mystery. it’s extremely detailed snd i couldn’t put what i read of it down.

Amazing. Such a good book. Psychological thrillers are my favourite and this one did not let me done. My eyes were glued to the pages, always eager to find out what happens next. One of my favourites!

Wow. What a novel. Tight writing. Not a word wasted. Great story that carries you along a roller coaster to the final paragraph. Highly recommended.
