Interesting. This book has a very interesting concept. It seemed very short. It was an intriguing book to read.

Interesting premise but can’t get over the age of the protagonists. I thought the overall idea was interesting but it bugged the hell out of me that the protagonists were supposedly kids. The way they talk is totally unrealistic for their age, which makes me wonder: why bother? Maybe the author was targeting a teen audience. It’s an easy read but I’ll stop on book two... I’ve had enough.

Thought it would be interesting. The overall premise had me intrigued, but the characters and plot lack depth. I’ve enjoyed other books from this author, but this one seams to be written for children. The dialogue and vocabulary are simplistic; perfect for an 8 to 12 year old. I was expecting more.... That said, it is a great book for kids. It has all the elements that kids love.

simple fantasy for tweens. If I’m 13 like the leading character, this is a fun read to fulfill my assignment. It’s a stretch to call it “science” fiction. For this adult reader it lacks anything interesting except fast paced action. Beware of the zombies!

Young adult novel. This must be a young adult novel. The premise is interesting, but the follow through is juvenile.

Surprising and good. Love following the story from the child’s perspective. Surprising turns that are exciting.

Ok in a cheesy way.. Weird but good enough to keep you reading.

Transmission. This is more of a YA book, but this adult enjoyed it so much I bought book 2. Too bad we have to wait until November for book 3. I might add that I’ll check out more of Ms. Rices’ other works as I so enjoyed this one.

Part of a book. My own experience with reading puts this book a two star. I expect a book to have an opening, middle and a closing. This book barely got to the middle. Disappointing enough I’m not inclined to read more.

A great read. Have been trying to get back into reading and just can’t seem to focus. Transmission locked me in and kept my attention from start to finish. Will definitely be reading the rest of the series!

I want to meet you. This is the only book I have read that I enjoy thank you I’m only 11 years old

Predicable and way too simple. This should be characterized as a teen novel. The plot is predictable and thin, the characters flat and undeveloped, and the dialogue trite. I don’t recommend it for science fiction fans.

Good. GREAT

Transmission. Gripping from the beginning and what a cliffhanger at the end! Excellent read !

Good YA book. Good YA book. Not enough depth in it for a good adult read. 4 stars for YA audience, 2 stars for adult audience, so average of 3 stars.

Transmission. Great read, very well paced and hard to put down my reading was achieved every day with this book highly recommend

Wow yet another fabulous addictive. Another superior read from the wonderful author dystopian.

Too many idiots, not enough plot. This was such a frustrating book. There’s a few interesting ideas there, and the core concept - a boy’s rare brain disorder allows him to tune in to alien communications - but there’s not enough plot for a whole book. So to slow things down, our author repeats plot points, especially the old All Adults Are Idiots one, which is fine in small doses, but in this case means that a whole bunch of world-class scientists have toddler-level reasoning abilities. Also, you can’t call your series ‘The Invasion Chronicle’ and then treat the invasion as a huge twist that your audience will be totally stunned by.

Promising, then disappointing. I enjoyed the unfolding alien contact story enough to overlook the recurring “adults are stoopid and kid saves the day” theme. However this story turned into a totally new direction towards the end, and it all got too much for me. I did not finish the book because I lost all enjoyment.

The new author i’ve been looking for has come. excellent read, very engaging

Not Believable, Full of Holes. This is bad writing. There were physics holes, and piles of situations with adults and governments behaving in ways that they just wouldn’t. Felt like it was written by a teenager.

Feels like a book for kids. The idea is very interesting but other than that, very disapointing. If you like books where ALL the adults are idiots (and not idiots as in teenagers think that all adults are idiots, I mean literal idiots) then I guess you might like this book. Everytime the 13 year old protagonist “showed” the scientists how stupid they were by explaining the obvious to them I rolled my eyes and by the end I had a headache from all the eye rolling (the part where the 13 year old prevents an international conflict by showing the adults how stupid they are is a real gem). I saw that the author is a very popular fantasy author so maybe this is a miss because it’s a different genre?

Intriguing concept. Horrible execution. Nothing is worse in a sci fi story than a good concept gone bad. This is especially horrid. Implausible does not begin to describe the situation depictions, dialogue or overall character development. It could be good, but ends up reading like an after school kIds special. I wasted my money.

Juvenile. Kids fantasy

Transmission. This was a very disappointing book. Nothing new and nothing not done by other authors. Waste of money, same old same old. What happened to the innovators of this genre. Science Fiction has become tawdry and boring. At least this author’s work has.
