more BNB please!!. I actually read the 3rd in this series before I read this one…and even though I thought 3 was my favorite, I loved this one just as much. I love the premise of the Barenuckle Bastards…and all the non standard regency characters that come with it. For those who think these types of characters might not have existed…wake up. Our world has always been full of grey, and this actually made this story feel even more real. I just wish there were more BNB stories, novelleta s maybe?? Thanks for a great trilogy, truly one of my favorites

Worth the wait!. What a riveting book! I like that it wasn’t about your typical swells snobs in Mayfair. Really showed a different, seedier side of London. Well done to the author. Can’t wait for the next!

Great. I loved this book! Beast and Hattie are the perfect pair. Hattie is probably one of the strongest heroines that I’ve read in a long time. She knows what she wants and she wants Beast. To bad he really doesn’t understand that he wants her, but will not let himself have her. He does all he can to push her away and keep her safe. What he does not know is she just might be the one to save and protect him. Not a stand alone book. You must read Wicked and the Wallflower first.

Wow!. I’ve been a long time romance novel junky, but I had grown tired of the same old story lines—the usual prim virgin and the reformable rake. This tale was new and refreshing. Loved the quips and imperfect characters. Loved the how the characters strengthened each other and the story. I guess I can say I just LOVED it all! It’s been awhile since I found a book that I could not put down. ;-)

Wordy.... I was so looking forward to reading this book after Devil and Felicity's story, but I am sadly disappointed. It was just too much. Too many sidelines and so much extra "stuff" that really detracted from the story in my opinion. I got bored with it and skipped pages and pages. Whit was really kind of boring and Hattie was entirely too predictable and the story just dragged on and on. It was not what I was hoping for. I probably won't read the third book. Ewan and Grace's story doesn't hold any appeal for me after this.

Done with Sarah’s books. I’ve given up on SM books. It’s not really a historical romance, it’s labeled under historical but it has the tone, dialogue and actions of a contemporary romance. This is not what takes place during that era or how people acted either. I could tell from just the sample that I read that this was going to be the same as some of her past romances. The story and characers actions just was too far fetched. And it seemed to be repetive and slow in many spots.

Epically historical and thoroughly modern love story.. Sarah’s novels are always an auto-buy without question. So it goes to say I totally love her work. But this book? She was able to weave a story that’s so modern and relevant yet so satisfyingly historical. The partnerships, the any kind of love goes, the highs and lows of falling in love and the internal struggles a curvy woman deals with regardless of what her relationships are telling her. Just so freaking good!

One of the best books I’ve read this year. I received an ARC of this book to read through Edelweiss+ in exchange for a fair review. Brazen and the Beast is the second book in Sarah Maclean’s wonderful Bareknuckle Bastard series. It could be read as a standalone, but you’d be missing out on Wicked and the Wallflower which is an awesome story so I recommend reading both. Lady Henrietta (Hattie) Sedley is tired of not fitting in and she has decided that this year will be her year and she is going after what she wants and she has a four point plan to achieve it… Business, Home, Fortune, Future … but she finds an unconscious man in her carriage on her way to step one … getting rid of her virginity.
