The Girl Who Sees by Dima Zales Book Summary

I'm an illusionist, not a psychic.

Going on TV is supposed to advance my career, but things go wrong.

Like vampires and zombies kind of wrong.

My name is Sasha Urban, and this is how I learned what I am.

Solid start to this series!. I received an ARC for a honest review. This is my first book from this author. I came upon this book through Anna Zaires' books. This book is not in the same vein as her dark romances. Although paranormal is not my go to books, The Girl Who Sees was definitely an interesting read. I really enjoyed the smart heroine and all the twists and world building. Basically the heroine lives a "normal" life with her passion being performing magic. Something happens and a whole paranormal worlds opens up to her. That's when everything gets interesting! I can't wait until book 2!

Different and Amazing. I am new to Dima Zales and to Fantasy type novels. However. I am now very excited to read the next book. I loved how connected you feel to the main character. I almost cried for her at times and was thrilled when things went her way. I laughed like crazy to the reference to Twilight vampires. It really made my day as Twilight is one of my favorite movies. I would definitely recommend this book and this Author.

The girl who sees. Sasha starts her day off like any other, believing she is a mental illusionist and doing whatever it takes to further herself in the world of magicians. The first big step to working towards her goal is to get through the tv interview and hoping nothing goes wrong with her performance. Things go smoothly but leaves her feeling different when she’s finished. Over the course of the next few days odd things continue to happen. Her dreams become more vivid, too realistic, and then there’s the sense of DĂ©jĂ  vu that follow them. The world around her become less mundane and Sasha can’t help but see everything that seems supernatural as a magical trick. Questioning herself to figure out how it was performed. However she just can’t wrap her head around it. Then zombies are constantly coming after her and forces her to open her mind to other possibilities. As Sasha starts to put the pieces together from past performances, dreams, conversations and the actions of those around her, she realizes that she’s been wrong about herself. After all this time claiming to not be psychic might just be coming back to bite her. Now she sees the world in a new light. Wondering who all belongs to the supernatural group called the “cognizant” and how it’ll effect her life in the future. Pick up a copy and find out exactly what transpires from the time Sasha starts her TV interview and the events that lead her to learning supernaturals exist and she’s one of them. A seer.

Love this story by Dima. Another great work by Dima Zales. I normally don’t read this genre but every so often I do want to read something different so Dima’s books are my go to. I have read few of his other books and truly enjoyed this different world. Girl who sees definitely didn’t disappoint. Right from beginning I was intrigued with the blurb and wanted to read Sasha’s story. She appears to be ordinary girl (or that’s what she thinks) who does magic tricks. She got invited to the tv show where she first time had her vision. Later on her vision becomes true, but she kept refusing to believe she has any supernatural powers. Story line gets even more interesting with lots of different issues and twists. I love Sasha’s character. She is super cool, funny, interesting girl. Im looking forward to more of Sasha and this fantasy world.

Please Read this book!. Take your time and really read this book! I fell in love after the first chapter and stayed up late till I finished! The characters are well rounded, the storyline easy to follow. And it makes you think. I love it so much!

Magic abounds. 4.5 stars I wanted to try something different and volunteered to read an advance copy of this book. Sasha drudgingly plugs away at her day job researching various stocks for her boss at a hedge fund. What she really wants to be is a master illusionist and have a career on television. She finally gets her shot to appear on a television show but before it is her turn to go on stage, she has a premonition of what is going to happen. Up until this point, she has always been able to rationalize a reason for what she “sees,” chalking it up to all of her studying to be the best she can be in this field. However, as these future events keep occurring, she is unable to hide from the truth that her life has been irrevocably changed. This is one well written engrossing story filled with witty banter, challenging obstacles to overcome, likeable characters and drama. I look forward to reading more from this series.

Sasha’s saga begins!!!. I absolutely loved getting to know Sasha! She is such a feisty character, filled with such a strong personality. I quickly fell in love with her, her trials and became invested in her life (story). I can’t wait for the next book in her journey to be released as I’m now sitting on the edge of my seat, wondering what’s next?!?! Dima and his wife are such wonderful writers, I’ve read everything they have written, separately and together, and they haven’t written a bad one yet. Definitely worth your while, and definitely a five star read.

Awesome ReadđŸ˜đŸ‘đŸŸ. I love this book so much. I would have read it in one day had I not had things to do. However I managed to finish it in two days. Thank you so much Dima and Anna for the ARC. I am now officially a fan of Dima. I love sci-fi and the book had me at the edge of my seat. I was mad when I had to put it down. Ladies and gents this is a book filled with mystery and intrigue. It has action and comedy as well. Purchase it if you haven’t. I can’t wait for the next installment.

No Tricks Here, Great Start to a New Series. 4 STARS to The Girl Who Sees! An exciting new Urban Fantasy Series, with Seers and Vampires and Necromancers, oh my! Meet Sasha Urban. By day she’s a Hedge Fund Analyst, by night she’s an Illusionist. This girl does not play tricks and don’t tell her she does either! Sasha is looking at honing in on her special effects to leave her boring day job and pursue her passion of making magic. For Sasha, her abilities are an effect, she has yet to discover (or understand?) how innate her skills actually are. She wants to be the first famous female Illusionist and join the ranks of other famous magicians like Harry Houdini and my all time fav Criss Angel! Sash gets her big lucky break when she’s invited on a live talk show to demonstrate her abilities. But something goes wrong, or quite likely right, that puts Sasha on a path to discovering who she really is. Sasha’s history is shrouded in mystery. She has adoptive parents but no recollection of her biological mom and dad. What else is mysterious is the course of events that keep putting her in danger. Let’s just say that after her shocking revelation during her live TV spiel, life takes a turn for the worse, or better yet, her life is in danger and all Sasha can do is react to the course of events that could end her life! This is an action pact story full of twists and turns where Sasha discovers that a supernatural world exists and she’s a part of that world. The urgency of this story is in the non-stop action that takes place over the course of a few days. The Girl Who Sees is a fun read that promises to take you into the world(s) of the supernatural. I really enjoyed Sasha’s character. She’s upbeat, determined, and on the verge of life changing events. As the story unfolds you learn snippets of Sasha’s life, her friendships, her mysterious boss and the newbie interlopers that attempt to take her down a course of events that will forever change her. Book One ends on an exciting note and I was really disappointed that there wasn’t more. On another note, the pop culture references were awesome! If you like the realities of our world infused in your fantasy, you will not be disappointed. This part of the author’s writing is fantastic! Now that Sasha is thrust into her new state of existence I’m hoping the author will take some time to have Sasha be a bit more reflective. While book one was full of action, Sasha had no time to breathe and really contemplate her situation. She just simply reacted from one tumultuous event to the next. Between being chased down by zombie-like creatures for most of the book and meeting the council, you don’t get a strong read on Sasha’s relationships with her roommates and others. - Sasha isn’t even terrified by the dead bodies that keep coming after her. I was hoping for a bit more angst in this regard. Now that doors have closed for Sasha and others have opened, I’m hoping there will be some time for Sasha to explore the mystery that is her life! This is my very first time reading a book by Dima Zales. While I’m not new to Urban Fantasy books, the author’s writing style is new to me. I’m looking forward to reading how he builds this world. The biggest intrigue being the mystery of Nero and what he wants from Sasha. Will this become a love interest or a potential enemy? This inquiring mind wants to know! I was kindly provided an ARC for an honest review. All opinions shared here are my own. Completely looking forward to see what happens to Sasha in Misfortune Teller. CAN’T WAIT!

😍foxyroxy. Wow This series is amazing some of the best writing I have a ever read. I couldn’t put it down and I can’t wait for the next in the series.

Entire series is amazing. This entire series is amazing. It’s fast paced, well written and gripping. I couldn’t put it down, I just went from one book to the next. I can’t wait for the final book to come out. Well worth reading, and worth every penny to purchase!
