Burn For Me by J.H. Croix Book Summary

One alpha man. One sassy woman. A fire that won’t die.

Once upon a time, Amelia was my everything. Until I lost her. Now I have a second chance, and I want her back.

She’s never forgiven me for something I didn’t even do. I’ve never forgiven her for believing the worst.

One look and the years apart go up in smoke. She’s all I ever wanted. A snappy attitude and the nerve to bring me to my knees.

We have seven years of bitterness tangled up between us. Yet, I can’t stay away.

The fire burns too hot. She’ll be mine. For keeps this time.

*A full-length standalone romance.

Read it!!You will enjoy it, I sure as hell did. HEA, not a cliffhangers, great story and characters. Sitting in a bar having a beer in a wedding dress and no one mentions it?? Don’t want to ruin it for the readers but it’s that kind of story. Enjoy!!!.Score: 4/5

Burn for meLooks like someone took a two week land cruise to Alaska and decided to pay for a trip by writing a story. One’s enough for me. The author could use the stereotyping of characters and geograpy for future trips. May I suggest Hawaii and maybe Australia?.Score: 2/5

Stop using the word “clean” DO NOT RECOMMENDI didn’t finish this book because I refuse to read a book that has discriminatory language and/or biased language. Stop using the term “clean” rather than having your characters say they have a negative sti/std test. It is so ignorant! This means that you feel that people with an sti/std are “unclean”. Nice way to polarize, isolate, discriminate and dismiss an entire group of people who are allowed to have sex and be sexual. What’s the point in having the conversation when your female lead has already sucked and swallowed. NEWS FLASH: You can get an sti/std orally. Are we also just supposed to take their word for it? No one would lie about that…right? He’s been in California having casual sex for 7 years and while she’s had someone steady for the past two years that doesn’t mean she doesn’t have an sti/std. Educate yourself! Lastly, people communicate and therefore it is completely unbelievable that Amelia and Cade would not talk about what happened. immature writing..Score: 1/5

CuteThe storyline was cute but I didn’t like the authors style or writing. There was way too much attention to detail & the scenery than there was on dialogue. I shouldn’t have to read 2 pages into what the trees look like when somebody is driving..Score: 2/5

RepetitiveGreat opening scene but went downhill after that. If you like reading endless sex scenes about people who are driven by their libido and not much else and you don’t mind a flimsy conflict and even flimsier antagonists stringing it together this book might be for you. But if you want a plot that goes somewhere then maybe pass. Author lives in or is obsessed with Alaska and is going to use every bit of research about firefighting she knows. Ex boyfriend is bland and superfluous, antagonist is introduced and quickly forgotten. Author repeats phrases (ex: gulps coffee, spins away from) way too much and goes into exhaustive detail about things. Cade is muscled… really muscled… super cut and sexy and blah blah blah. Burn for MeThis was about the most boring book I’ve read. To much of the book devoted to describing the scenery and repeating what happened that caused Cade and Amelia to breakup in the first place. “Burn for me” by JH CroixI absolutely LOVED the first chapter.... how the ‘bomb’ was dropped so casually. What terrible and avoidable heartbreak they both went through due to their stubbornness. I was super impressed with the town’s restraint in getting involved in Amelia’s business. What a beautiful love story. If only we all could have such an all-encompassing love like theirs. Cade and AmeliaEasy and quick read. My usual type of stories involve more highs and lows which seems lacking in this book. Basically, this is a straightforward second chance romance purely focused on how Cade and Amelia got back together and overcoming their internal struggles. It would’ve been nice to see a bit more of Shannon, especially because the reason why she did what she did was only speculation from the other characters (and why did she come back to town after 7 years?). The story introduces a lot of information that only describes the characters but don’t actually get used later on for story development which I think is a missed opportunity. The Shannon fiasco is one example where the story could have developed further..Score: 3/5
