The Palace of Lost Memories - GET THIS BOOK!. The Palace of Lost Memories is the first book in a series of 6. While I normally only occasionally buy books in a series due to the cost, I’m so glad I started this one! I was immediately drawn into this fantasy world by the descriptive writing that allowed me to envision the village of Mull, the palace, the Peninsula and the people. For me, this was a real page-turner that I didn’t want to put down until I was finished. Now I can’t wait to move onto book two! In my opinion, if you enjoy good fantasy and don’t mind a 6-book series, I’d highly suggest getting this book. It was a fantastic read pushing me onward to book 2!

Great Beginning. I thought this was a great beginning! I loved Josie and enjoyed following her as she gets to know the residents of the palace especially the Captain of the Guard. The Mystery was also well written and very intriguing. I was a little bummed that although one of the mysteries of the book was solved the main one was not it continues on in the next book. Having said that I am greatly looking forward to the next book in this series!

Best book I’ve read in a while!!!. I could not seem to put this book down. The slow building passion between the captain & Josie is absolutely riveting. The mystery of the lost memories and who the poisoner was had my nose stuck in the book every chance I got. Absolutely love!

Amazing! Such a page-turner!. I will be buying the next book and starting it ASAP! This was such a good book. Be ready to get lost in the world of Josie and not want to leave it to return to the real world!

A Promising Start to a New Fantasy Series. Josie is an intelligent, capable, and rather impulsive young woman stifled by patriarchal norms and restrictions all too familiar in the real world. And then big changes occur that expose her to new opportunities as well as new and unpleasant social class discrimination and danger. A little romance and a core of murder mystery kept me reading and led me to purchase the second novel in the series.

Enjoyed it. I binged this book in two days I couldn’t stop reading I just wanted to find out more. I’ll be buying the next book!

Sub par. Part way through the book the writing seems rushed and the book is very mild and doesnt explain the real conflict at all. The conflict is the memories, otherwise describe the book as about poisoning instead. Too many story lines going for such a short book

Hooked!. I can’t wait to devour the rest of this series! Intriguing, sexy, entertaining, believable characters, cool story arc, and a plot that keeps thickening as you get pulled further in. Fantasy, historical setting, mystery and hints of possible romance keep this book tantalizing. I highly recommend :)

The Palace of Lost Memories. This book was very interesting. It had many twists and turns and ended way to soon! CJ Archer does a good way of weaving the characters and plot together. I had trouble putting it down at night! I look forward to reading more from this author!

Enjoyable, not ground breaking but not bad. I enjoyed reading this book, it’s not the best book I’ve ever read but it’s not bad. It doesn’t really do a ton that’s new in terms of historical fictiony fantasy, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing since I enjoy the those parts of this type of book. I wanna know what happens next and had a good time reading it. Overall good read

Pretty Good Book. I liked this book a lot. It was a good read and had lots of layers and an in-depth world. The characters were great, they had good relationships and pretty believable ambitions despite being in a twisted world. It’s an easy read with good concepts and some thoughts about how woman and men are treated differently in society. It wasn’t life changing but it was worth the day of on and off reading I put into it.

The Palace of Lost Memories. This was a wonderful story building up and then it abruptly ended. This is why it’s a four-star and not a five. It would’ve been nice to be let down more gracefully at the end with a slight build up of a story that encourages us to buy book 2. I know the author wants us to buy book two but needs to understand the investment we have in Book One’s story.

The Palace of Lost Memories. The world building and witty banter were easily the highlights of this book. While for the most part I enjoyed the story, the last sixty pages or so felt rushed, like the author realized they were approaching the 600 page mark and hadn’t set up everything she wanted to or really progressed the main conflict at all. I am also disappointed to see a great protagonist like Josie go from aspiring doctor resisting the patriarchy with a penchant for learning, to bored girl resigned to systemic sexism who just wants to be with Captain. It is worth emphasizing that this is the first of a six book series and does not stand alone very well. Although it doesn’t end in that obvious cliff hanger made just to get you to buy the next book, it’s in the same vein in that this book didn’t really have a resolution. At best this was a “set up” book in that the author inserts conflict, after conflict, after conflict that may or may not be explored or resolved to varying degrees of depth if at all in later books. After reading the reviews and free first 50 pages of the other books, I’m not convinced reading the rest of the series would be worth the investment.

Sooooo good......!!!!. So, I am not really a book worm. In fact, I kinda don’t like reading! So this review is coming from someone who doesn’t really like books. This book inspired me to start writing a book! 100% approve for everybody!!!

Engaging, enjoyable, fleshy characters. I read it in one go. It has a good plot, a clear defined world and strong enough characters, the goal and the moral drive is clearly outlined. I’m glad it wasn’t cheesy and it explores the ever constant double standard view on men and women. I liked it and I’m going to read the second volume as I liked the protagonist and the writer deserves it.

Progress of Series. This series has mystery and contains some heart break climaxes that is sure to spicks ones curiosity. In the series there is however 1 or 2 grammar mistakes but nothing to profound that causes difficulty for the reader. This a book-series contains fictional, growing-relationships-bond and their discovery of each character’s missing history of their lives. This is a story that flourish in its rich character, plot and predicaments progression. Please enjoy the series and mindfulness after reading After the Rift.

A book that will keep you thinking about it, whenever you’re not reading it.. This was a great book, some nights I got so lost in it that I’d look up at the time and realise it was morning. I thought this written by some big Hollywood ‘famous level’ author, only to realise at the end it’s written by a fellow Victoria, Australian! How are these not movies yet? Amazing things must be in store for this author, with such talented writing. Someone tell the higher ups, because just Wow. Can’t wait to read more!

The palace of lost memories. I love this book so much I don’t read much but I can spend hours reading this book and the others, I totally recommend this book and the others in this series, I just started reading the second one and it’s great so far.

Beautifully written. C.J. Archer has a smooth, natural writing style that shows a deep understanding of her characters and their motivations. This series promises to be a trip through the past where magic is like science; people know it exists but the logical mind of the protagonist knows there may be another explanation. I look forward to the journey ahead as I move into book two.

After that I had a hard time putting the book down.It kept me deeply interested with each chapter. I felt like I was in the castle itself and enjoyed each of the characters I would enjoy any follow up book
