Good story, oddly anachronistic tech. Almost feels like a story that would have been written twenty years ago considering the laughable anachronisms in some of the computer and interface tech. That said, characters are good and the unfolding mystery box was suitably compelling. A good read, if light, and I’ll probably read the next one.

Boring. What the heck is going on? The characters are tiresome and uninteresting. The plot is, well I’m half way through the book and still have no idea what this story is about or where it’s going. And conflict, there is none. Boring story that never picked up and threatened to get any better.

Very little action, LOTS of character build. Dazzling space battles? Sorry, no. A touch of AI philosophy, a side story of gritty thieves that ultimately has nothing to do with the main plot, an interesting world build with some well fleshed out characters, but, unfortunately, no real climax. I tried, I really did! Not enough here to justify purchasing the second installment.

A confusing mess of plots. The writing is frankly awful. The world building makes no sense at all, with unrelated plot lines that are never explained. The main characters are unlikeable and almost written at a young teen level. After struggling to finish the first book I have no interest in the second in the series.

Good book. Great characters and lots of action with a surprise around each corner.
