Great great grwat. FINALLY a hockey book w a black heroine ... thank u... just woulda been cool if she didn’t have the “normal” black girl back story but I appreciated her being there at all... this book is a wonderful story the characters are beautiful raw n real.

Good book. This is a good and interesting book although a little rushed. It covers briefly many issues and insecurities concerning women.

There’s More. Despite others not reading the actual story and basing opinions on the description (and still getting it wrong). It’s not what it sounds. It’s heartfelt and an amazing book! I can’t wait to read more in this series.

Loved the story of Anton!. I have read a couple of these in this series before and Anton was introduced but never understood what was going on with him. Sexy, wonderful, and a one of a kind keeper! Mia is a very afraid and disillusioned woman who is loved by Anton but has no clue. Read and enjoy their journey!

Thoroughly enjoyable. Loved it! The cover pic alone deserves 5 stars. I usually like a lot of hockey in my hockey romance but the story and chemistry and well written characters made reading this book a truly pleasurable experience. This is a book I would read over and over again.

I loved Anton!!!. Anton is known to look out for everyone else at work and in his family. Anton is living is dream playing hockey but there is something missing. Mia thought she was going to have the a great life but things happen that change that. Anton and Mia’s relationship starts out as friendship but you tell that they both want more but with current status things can’t move forward. Anton is determined to show Mia what it is like to be in a healthy relationship. What can I say about Anton and Mia? I loved their interactions with each other and how Anton always put everyone else first before himself. I felt that Mia and Anton’s relationship is just what they both needed. I cannot leave out Uncle Dix. He had me laughing throughout this whole book. I can’t wait to read more from this series!!!

Anton is Dreamy 💜. I LOVED Anton. He’s so dreamy.💜 Anton Petrov is the team captain for the hockey team, the Chicago Blaze. He’s known for his strict regimen of healthy eating and working out. His teammates give him a hard time for abstaining from sex. But they don’t realize he is in love with someone he can’t have. Mia is married to a man she no longer wants to be with. She trying her best to get out from under his thumb and making it on her own. I loved Mia almost as much as I loved Anton. I admired her strength and determination. She did everything she could to make things right in her life and those close to her. Anton was amazing. He was a great friend to Mia when she needed one the most. And although he had pined for her for the last few years, he respected her wishes on taking things slow. Their relationship felt real and not rushed. I enjoyed both characters immensely and loved watching their relationship evolve. I definitely recommend this story to everyone. I promise you won’t regret reading it.

Great story. I loved this story. It made my heart happy to read. It’s not a super erotic story and the characters stick to their morals. This book actually has a story to it. Whoever made the bad review about this story being about cheating did not read it. The book summary is kind of misleading. This story has absolutely NO cheating on spouses but follows Mia’s story of getting help to leave an abusive relationship from a friend who loves her but respects her and they never even date until she is officially divorced. Their first date after the divorce is finalized is a super cute date. I wasn’t sure I would like a book with a guy who plays a sport in it but this turned out to be worth the read.

New author and series for me. Not as much detail as I prefer for intimate scenes. All in all a good story line. Different from others I have read. I liked her tackling the domestic abuse subject. I’ll continue the rest of series . Prefer more info on a few of the upcoming feature characters to string series together and make more cohesive

Brenda Rothert Scores Another Goal With Anton. Brenda Rothert can write a hockey romance like nobody's business, and, truly, the books in her FIRE ON ICE series are still some of my favorites of hers. Now, Brenda is giving us more hockey heroes to love with the release of ANTON, the first book in her new Chicago Blaze series. Anton is pretty much everything that a book boyfriend should be. Besides all the usual attributes, he's got to be one of the most loyal guys that I've seen, and Mia is one lucky lady. And, even though she's got a 'past,' she is fierce, and I really enjoyed seeing her grow into herself. These two are definitely poster children for #couplegoals, and their story is, by turn, sexy, affirming, and exciting. Fans of sports romance, fans of Brenda's books, and, heck, fans of sexy Russian skaters will love this book. And, lucky us, it's almost like there are two Antons, because his twin brother, Alexei, another sexy Russian hockey player, is getting his own book very soon. In the meantime, though, as an avowed Brenda fan, I say go out and get yourself a copy of this book. Anton's waiting, and he is not to be missed.

A great start to a new series!. A great slow burn read. I enjoyed the friendship Anton and Mia developed, very sweet and caring that turns flirty and sexy. Anton is definitely a swoon worthy alpha! Their relationship is not without some struggle but love how they stayed true to themselves and each other. A fantastic way to start off a new series and can’t wait to read more.

Brilliant start to a new series. What a great start to the new Chicago Blaze Series from Brenda Rothert. You know you are reading a great book when you struggle to put it down and when you wake up a couple of hours later thinking I need to finish that book I need to know if Anton and Mia get the HEA they so deserve. I really don’t want to give too much of the story away because I think you will get the best from this book without knowing the full story what I will say is If you love Sports theme romance this is a must read if you love romance this is a must read, what I’m really trying to say is this is a must read....... Once again this very talented author has given us characters we will swoon over, characters we will laugh with and not at as well as a story we will not want to end. Anton and Mia are the most adorable couple with many obstacles to cross on their path to true love and I have to say Brenda Rothert has given us a love story that’s beautifully written and full of compassion. I’m hoping the next book in this series is Anton’s twin brothers story (oh did I forget to mention that titbit earlier) .......

Brilliant. I have a new book boyfriend and his name is Anton. This was one of the best books I have read from Brenda Rothert and that is saying something as I love her writing style. Anton Petrov is the captain of the NHL’s Chicago Blaze has a reputation for being rather aloof and a little brooding. Little do people know that he has been in love with a team mates’ wife for several years. However being a man of integrity, he has made no moves or indicated his feelings; he remains alone. Mia Marceau is finally away from her bullying soon to be ex husband Adam who is a player for the Chicago Blaze. I admit right here that I wanted to deck Adam and call him out on his hideous behaviour towards Mia. I really loved Mia, a woman who has cowered in the past but who with the love of a good man and the building up of her shattered confidence emerges to take on the world. This was at times an emotional roller coaster of a read as Anton and Mia fought the rocky path towards their happily ever after. The secondary characters were fabulous and I adored Uncle Dix, a man who I bet got up to a lot of mischief in his younger days. I laughed, I cried but throughout it all I loved Mia and Anton, both separately and together. I was anxious that they would get the chance together that they both so richly deserved. Not going to say anymore other than do yourselves a favour and one click this one on release. You won’t be disappointed and I cannot wait to read more in this series.
