The Last Widow. The story is not well done. Very disappointing effort compared to previous books. The story did not make sense, as the kidnapping was not believable.

The last widow.. Not her usual writing style. She rehashes parts of the story in different characters points of view, so you reread parts you already know about. Not a fan of this. Good book though. Love these characters.

Had to force myself to finish.. This book went on and on. All the previous books in this series were very good.

Excellent.. Excellent.

Although different, certainly a favorite!. I have literally read every book by Karin slaughter, and this one did not disappoint! The writing style was different, yes... but, I actually liked the way she wrote different points of view from each of the characters! Good job k.s! Can’t wait for the next Sara and will story!

Read. At the risk of sounding like every other positive book review, read this one. I read a lot and was in a bit of a slump. I felt like everything I have read lately was more of the same. This one definitely broke my streak. I love the Will Trent series and had been looking forward to it. It didn’t disappoint. Fast moving, well thought out, great detail and the emotion I’ve come to expect from these characters.

A good read. Love how this author writes. However this one was a little lengthy in parts and found myself skipping some pages when it got a little wordy. However I have enjoyed watching Will and Sara’s relationship unfold. And with a son with dyslexia as well it’s encouraging seeing a character thrive in the world. I tell my son all the time he can still do anything. So this character gives me hope regardless that it’s a story. Couldn’t put this book down. Read it in 2 days.

Yeessss!. This is her best book and I love all of her books!

Disappointing. As an avid fan, this book was disappointment and a disservice to the readers. The author cared more about delivering a message than writing a good story about the characters we have come to love. Not subtle and sloppy. Will deserved better and so did the readers.

Not good. I always look forward to all her books and preorder them when possible but this was a big disappointment. I especially did not like how the book would go backwards telling the story through a different character. It is a waste to read the same thing again and again. There were a lot of things I disliked about the book but it was mainly just boring and a waste of money.

A gripping tale from start to finish. The Last Widow is a fast-paced adventure reminiscent of Patricia Cornwall’s Kay Scarpetta series. It does not shy away from depicting the harsh realities of the criminally insane and the people that follow them. GBI agent, Will Trent, and medical examiner, Sara Linton, take us on a journey that follows a spiraling line regularly upsetting our expectations and leading us down a dark path. The only question is, can they lead us back to safety. What I Like A temporal motif runs throughout the novel, and this serves to enhance the theme and the mood. The mood is one of urgency, and the reader feels that along with the characters. The characters continuously check their watches and are frustrated when their means of seeing how much time has passed is gone. This urgency is also reinforced by the chapters being titled by the date and time. Time is an essential theme in this novel, especially as it pertains to survival, which is made apparent by the motif. The result is a fast-paced novel where the reader doesn’t even think to check their own watch. The short emotional journeys are genuinely written. From the emotional journey of a mother with a daughter just hitting puberty to the ramblings of a person’s mind when held in captivity, this story captures many sharp truths. These descriptions bring a sense of realism to the story and transport you into the world of the novel. Will Trent and Sara Linton are relatable in their reluctant heroism. The characters are fully developed, and when they work together, you can feel the chemistry jump off the page. Engagingly flawed, they help each other overcome their inner demons while they are fighting to conquer their own. What I Wish The confounding time loops did not add to the story. To show different, essential perspectives, the reader sees an event from one character’s perspective and then in the next chapter, the same event from another character’s perspective. Though the views both added something unique to the story, I found moving backward and forwards numerous times in the tale frustrating much like rereading the same page of a story multiple times. I also wish I knew more about what happened to Michelle Spivey in that month between appearances. Bits and pieces are provided, but I think I would like to know more definitely. Part of me feels like it could be a “be careful what you wish for” type wish though. To Read or Not to Read This novel will grab you from page one and not let you go until the end. I highly recommend for the thrill-seekers at heart. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for providing me with an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.

Great Book. Thoroughly devoured this book . . couldn’t put it down!

Surgeons perspective. Best of all! Combination of Linton and Trent storylines had me turning pages faster than ever. As a surgeon I found the medical details to be spot on. Just terrific -ran the gamut of emotions from fear to thrill to sadness to longing to relief to pure joy.

Hate. It was a great book that is hard to put down. The hate groups life and and poor education was very meaningful at this time we are now going through.

great book. Loved it

The Last Widow. I am in love with these books!!!!! I can’t wait to see what Sara, Will, Faith and Amanda are doing next!!!

Couldn’t put it down!. Loved the pace of this latest book! So glad that Will and Sara are back!

The last widow. I found it hard to believe this was a Slaughter book. I’m a huge fan and have read nearly every book she’s written. In my opinion, it was a total waste of my time. Sadly, I ended up skimming through the last several pages. And I was glad I did.
