Everything You Would Expect From A Master Story Teller. Breath taking story telling! Brent Weeks masterfully weaves all the threads and mysteries of this series together into a wonderful story of redemption, tragedy, faith and the beauty of the human spirit. Everything you wanted and some things you can’t believe and don’t want. Great book!

Legendary. This book was absolutely legendary. Amazing from start to finish with all the loose ends coming together brilliantly. Loved every moment of it.

Great read. I enjoy Brent weeks’s other series. The light bringer series did not disappoint. I was a little disappointed with the ending for Kip but other than that I thought it was an amazing series of books telling an awesome story. Wish we could actually know more of how it ends up for kip.

Over the top. I loved the first four books in this story but I really didn’t like the ending. Perhaps the author felt like he went to far with the misery everyone experienced? It was a lot and I could imagine how he would get out of it all. The ending was way over the top. Everything was so good it was unbelievable and hard to read. However if you are a strongly religious person you might love it.

Five stars isn’t enough. How can you review 1.5 million words? How can you review a journey of years in 5 stars? Simple. You can’t.

Truly my favorite series. (Make sure to read the postlude)

Fabulous reading!. It’s been years since I read something this awesome. Love how Brent keep me hanging after each chapter wanting more. I’m so sad I finish the series, I think I would reread it to catch all those things I missed the first time.

Brilliant as usual, but disappointed in the cursing. I have read every book in the series, several of them twice. I’ve been a diehard fan of Weeks since his Angel series. After this book, however, I am disappointed. I’m disappointed at the increase in cursing. A brilliant writer should be aware that adding obscenities doesn’t add grittiness or authenticity to their writing, it can stand without this. I’m disappointed because the use of obscenity actually detracted from the story. In book 1 - 0 F bombs. As the series went along, the number increased to 84 in this last book, and that’s only the number of times where it was spelled traditionally. Why does this disappoint me? Not because I’m holier than though, I curse at times and have like this in my youth, but I see a society decaying where the first step in the slippery slope was accepting that being obscene is cool. I want my kids to read adult fiction without being inundated in literature with the obscenity already inundating them in real life. Brandon Sanderson, as a modern example with all of the greats preceding him, have proven that excellent fiction can exist without excessive cursing. I want my daughter to read strong, fighty women, I don’t want her thinking that she has to be obscene to be so. I’m not going to stop reading or buying, but I certainly hope that Weeks can return to writing his amazing stories, with real characters we can identify with, but also with less obscenity. Please be better than our pop culture that seems to believe that adding obscenity to dialogue makes it gritty. Nope, it makes it lazy and undermines the beauty of the prose.

Meh-Ok but not worth the wait!. This was a ok finale to the Lightbringer series. It took a while for the story to get started as the first third of the book was a bunch of psycho-babble musings by some of the characters. The Gavin/Orholam thread of the story was great and I liked the background story of Andross Guile. Overall, it was good but I expected better specifically due to the long wait that Weeks forced his fans to endure.

The Burning White is Season 8 of GoT. If you enjoyed the series, read this book. But prepare to be a little disappointed.

Best fantasy series all time. This was my favorite fantasy series of all time. It had more heart then a Sanderson type book. The characters were amazing you really felt for them. The magic system was perfect. It was well explained, and had some real creativity to it. I just could not put these books down it was so good and unexpected in all-time favorite for me.

Radiant. Second time reading through the series, so much to love.

That was good!. Not just good, it answered all the questions. I grinned as I was finishing the book and cried! I cried so hard! I absolutely loved all the surprises and usually I can see through to the end of a plot but I was pleasantly surprised by the journey and twists and turns taken to get us there! Let me tell you... Simon Vance is a spectacular narrator! Absolutely strikes the right tone. Doesn’t take you out of your head space, but adds to it! Love Brent Weeks’s works. I am looking forward to the next journey, so there, all the way!

Protracted and disappointing. I expected some great ah-hah and oh wow moments that revealed mysteries and took the separate plot threads and tied them neatly together...but instead I got a bunch of deus ex machina plot devices and a lot of drawn out character self-discovery. The concept of this series and magic system was good. Like the Night Angel series, the dialogue and character development has always seemed like it was written by a teenage boy but the concepts, the magic, and the building out of the story to an epic scale has always made up for those shortfalls until this last book. For the fifth book of a five book series, I also expected more action than the other books and I got significantly less.

Slower read, good book. A slower read. Tying up story lines. Cleaning up mythological undertones.

Brought tears to my eyes. Awesome ending. Everything comes together after a good what... 7 years?

A magnum opus. I started the series with a small interest, a coming of age story with a few mysteries. Mysteries that swirled around the ankles and deepened ; watching Week’s *talent* for sledgehammer revelations grow. This book leaves a satisfying taste after a full course. I think Kip and Kyler would have been good friends and would have a lot to learn from one another. TLDR please read this series, you won’t regret it.

Amazing. This book brings the story to a worthwhile close. Filled with emotion and brought to tears on multiple occasions. Leaves enough open that we visit the world again
