Great read. Very engaging from start to finish.

Interesting, but left much to be desired. Fun read if you don’t think too much about the plot holes and random jumps in conversation and thought processes. The synopsis had a lot of potential and I believe characters could’ve been fleshed out more but I was left wondering if Slim had learned anything; I mean, he felt for Emma despite everything she did that was messed up, but not even fully explored or explained. The writing style was a pleasant surprise.

Unexpected. The chapters are short, and I was just getting engrossed with the story when it took an unexpected turn

The Man By The Sea. What a wonderful page - turner! I totally loved every detail of this wonderful mystery! It brought some goosebumps along then I kept thinking maybe I might never go along the shore of the Sea… Any of them!

Keeps you guessing!. Kind of a slow read but so many twists and turns. Nothing is as it seems. The ghost is real!

Intriguing. I’m fighting Parkinson’s and read when I can to help with cognitive skills. What I like about this book is that it play out as a movie as I read it. It very draws you in right next to the main character.

Good pass-time mystery read. The storyline is enjoyable and gets a grip on the reader throughout, including an occasional reader like myself. Suspense was articulated masterfully - complementing the pleasure of reading. Happy to recommend for good pass-time reading experience.

The Man by the Sea brings you there!. This story draws you in and is a true mystery throughout. As an avid reader of all genres, I love a good story that brings me with it and so appreciative of a better level of writing then so many so-called 'gripping' novels that devolve into gore and slash.

The Man by the Sea. Though the story line was interesting and thought provoking the main character was wholly unlikable. Alcoholics are just not pitiable no matter how they got there. I can honestly say that the killer evaded me till the end. That doesn’t happen often to me. Most surprising and hard to put down despite my own issues. I may have to read more to see if Slim ever gets himself together. But then that would defeat the story line I guess.

Great book!. I read a lot. Like, a lot. And so many books have the same plot. They’re so predictable I can call them pretty well (I read mainly thrillers, psychological and love stories lol.) This one was different. It was interesting and kept me guessing. I really enjoyed reading it.

What?. This was a choppy, confusing read. I found it difficult to follow. Could have used some editing as well.

Seaside mystery. This was an interesting twisty story, partly due to the detective constant tippling, hard to keep a story straight when you are not!

Unpredictable. (Great to find an online book with very few typos for a change.) This book is spooky and the author keeps telling me it you guessing until the very last page. Slim is a likeable and reluctant alcoholic detective who sacrifices everything to solve a mystery. Well written and amusing. I will look for more from this author.
