The Last Letter from Juliet by Melanie Hudson Book Summary

The USA TODAY bestseller!

Inspired by the brave women of WWII, this is a moving and powerful novel of friendship, love and resilience for fans of My Name is Eva, The Alice Network and The Tattooist of Auschwitz.

A story of love not a story of a war…

A daring WWII pilot who grew up among the clouds, Juliet Caron’s life was one of courage, adventure – and a love torn apart by war. Every nook of her Cornish cottage is alive with memories just waiting to be discovered.

Katherine Henderson has escaped to Cornwall for Christmas, but she soon finds there is more to her holiday cottage than meets the eye. And on the eve of Juliet’s 100th birthday, Katherine is enlisted to make an old lady’s final Christmas wish come true…

About the author

Melanie Hudson was born in Yorkshire in 1971, the youngest of six children. Her earliest memory is of standing with her brother on the street corner selling her dad's surplus vegetables (imagine The Good Life in Barnsley and you're more or less there).
After running away to join the British armed forces in 1994, Melanie experienced a career that took her around the world on some exciting adventures. In 2010, when she returned to civilian life to look after her young son, on a whim, she moved to Dubai where she found the time to write women's fiction. She now lives in Cornwall with her family.

Her debut, The Wedding Cake Tree, won the Romantic Novelists’ Association Contemporary Romance Novel of the Year 2016.

The Last Letter from Juliette. Although long it’s worth reading all of it. Being an American reading about the bravery and suffering the Brits went through during WWII.

Get lost in the story..... Enthralling.

The last letter from Juliet. This was a wonderful story that made me cry. I cannot imagine what the people in that time period had to endure...so awful. Worth every minute to read.

Amazing!. What a great story!! You will NOT regret reading this book. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Loved this book!. Such a great story. Would strongly recommend.

Last letter from Juliette. One of the best reads I have enjoyed.

Good story despite some errors. A good story and an enjoyable read. But there were many type - omitted or misspelled words, that it was a bit distracting. And some factual issues, too..... if you don’t mind those, you will enjoy this book.

The Last Letter from Juliet. Great story, laughed & cried. You can't just leave this book, you have to keep reading

The Beautiful Coddiwompler. Juliet is a beautiful force to be reckoned with! Imagine a very young girl piloting an open-aired plane by herself at an air show in the 30's! Juliet's amazing life and story during WWII will leave you breathless. I adored the novel that has adventure, thrills, humor, heartbreak, and a love story that endures. I cried, laughed, and was transported to a remarkable life and era.💕💕👍

The Last LetterFrom Juliet. Very interesting story but several editing errors throughout the book, all minor but still annoying.

Story of adventure and love. Love the story, the characters and the writing style, but someone forgot to proof this book.

Kay. The story is excellent. The characters are very well developed and I loved that it was so well researched, easily taking me back to the war years, however, I was distressed at so many grammatical errors. Errors very easily corrected by a good editor.

Great Story, Terrible Editing. Thank goodness, I loved the story because the number of typos, missing words and grammatical mistakes was ridiculous. I have never, ever, read a book with so many mistakes. Every few pages, there was some type of error. The Publisher/Editor did a terrible job.

Well written historical fiction. Tho roughly enjoyed reading this novel. Great characters, plot and storyline. Unlike other reviewers I was able to get passed the many editing issues because of the storyline. A true celebration of “living as full a life as one can.”

Terrible editing. This book is riddled with errors—grammatical, spelling, missing words, wrong words (attitude where altitude should have been), Mabel spelled Mabel and Mable on the same page! It was so distracting and irritating that I almost walked away from it several times. The writer thanks her editor, but it clearly was not edited. I did finish it and it was a good story; just a frustrating read.

Last Letter from Juliet. Wonderful story, but not proofread. Many errors which took away from the context of the story.

The Last Letter from Juliet. This is one of the best books I’ve ever read. What an exciting life Juliet had.

Proof reader?. The story was interesting enough but the book was plagued with spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. It was a pain to read. I don't understand how a book can be printed/published with so many errors.

I loved it but onl 70 pp of the 400!. I loved it but the pages stopped at p.70 of 400 pages or so… how do I get the rest??
