Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert T. Kiyosaki Book Summary

It's been nearly 25 years since Robert Kiyosaki’s Rich Dad Poor Dad first made waves in the Personal Finance arena.
It has since become the #1 Personal Finance book of all time... translated into dozens of languages and sold around the world.

Rich Dad Poor Dad is Robert's story of growing up with two dads — his real father and the father of his best friend, his rich dad — and the ways in which both men shaped his thoughts about money and investing. The book explodes the myth that you need to earn a high income to be rich and explains the difference between working for money and having your money work for you.

20 Years... 20/20 Hindsight
In the 20th Anniversary Edition of this classic, Robert offers an update on what we’ve seen over the past 20 years related to money, investing, and the global economy. Sidebars throughout the book will take readers “fast forward” — from 1997 to today — as Robert assesses how the principles taught by his rich dad have stood the test of time.

In many ways, the messages of Rich Dad Poor Dad, messages that were criticized and challenged two decades ago, are more meaningful, relevant and important today than they were 20 years ago.

As always, readers can expect that Robert will be candid, insightful... and continue to rock more than a few boats in his retrospective.

Will there be a few surprises? Count on it.

Best gift for stubbornness. Bought a copy as a gift for a fellow co worker of mine.. been working labor all his life ... He realized how financially illiterate he was ... 65 year old man ... now his investing etc

Enlightening. Freedom in a book

Untrustworthy. Not a reliable author

Life Changing...No Really. I just finished this book and without exaggeration I can say my life will never be the same again.

MUST READ IF YOUR FINANCIALLY STRUGGLING!!!. After numerous recommendations I decided to give this book a try. This book is beyond amazing as it has completely revamped my way of thinking financially. I’m extremely grateful for all of the advice, charts and formulas that Robert has provided in this amazing work of literature. AGAIN! THIS IS A MUST READ!! THANK YOU ROBERT!!

Fantastic for young people. Fantastic guide to the mindset around money

Outstanding Book!. Great read! So happy I picked this one!

Start to Freedom. I’m twenty-one years old and this is the best investment I’ve made so far in my life.

Changed my mindset about money. Great book and is a must read for people who want to truly become financially free.

I’m still on my learning journey, this was step one. There was stuff I agreed with and stuff I didn’t agree with. I’m still trying to understand this money game so I guess reading this book was the first step, even though I couldn’t grasp all of it. I would say people should still read this book to at least understand the foundation of money and the root of most, if not all our issues with finance.

Great Read. Great book! Great Inspiration!!!

Great book. Book has changed my mind about money

Isaiah Johnson. Amazing book taught me many things that I will be using in the near future and as of right now I will be continuing to read your books to learn all I can

Amazing. Life altering! Orly help me to educate my kids on how to do it right the first time

Must Read. Take action! Read this book and change the way you think and live your life! This is more than just about making money. Looking forward to using these principles to change my life for the better!

The best. The book simply elaborate why the rich are getting richer but why you should know that, for the first reason to change your mindset first then you can understand everything after that. This book is for everyone.

A great starting point. What this book does compared to others is opening your mind. This book doesn’t give you a get rich quick scheme but instead informs you of things in a way to have you open your mind and ask great questions.

Repetitive. I like this book and all, I bought it after I listened to some of his speech but it is too repetitive. I feel like it goes over the same scenarios over and over and it’s interest dims down after reading it for awhile

Amazing Book!. Incredible book. It did open my eyes especially when he kept giving us the different views about success between his rich/poor dad! Amazing book!

I HATE READING... but I couldn’t put this book down.... This is my first review of a book EVER in my life. I come from from a family who loves reading, I myself always hated it. I try too, but get bored and never open the book again. I bought this book and let me tell you that this is the first book ever in my life that I loved! I couldn’t put this book down. I am currently still reading it but as I go though my days and hear people talking about money this book and it’s teaching always come to my mind and everything in the book is true. I see the connections. I recommend this to everyone!

10/10. Great book, fundamental book for finances

Love it. Absolutely love this edition! Taught me a lot about the importance of assets and liabilities

Awesome start to the journey. Great book ! Gets your mind going !

Great Book. This book has changed my life. I was caught up in the rat race. I always had his way of thinking but was influenced by my parents and my environment. I now have facts to go with what I always believed to be truth, which is the possibility to have more. So thank you.

The clarity is overwhelming. The few errors like Obama's re-election date and mis-labeled diagrams do not detract from the powerful clarity of this bible for success.

Life changing. Thank you for such an amazing piece, this is truly a work of art

The book that awakens your “sleeping genius”. Been hearing about this book for years on my favorite finance/real estate podcasts and I finally decided to read it. This book is a must read if you are trying to learn how to become financially independent

Click bait with no info on how to do anything.. Basically the author tells you to buy good assets not bad ones, those who work for money are basically pathetic and real estate is the only asset that’s worth anything. He says a lot of common sense stuff that you do get taught in school. Honestly, he makes money off of real estate and writing a book that is more or less click bait because it tells you nothing about how to do any of the things he says you need to do. Hard pass if you want legit actionable advice.

Financial Education. This book is amazing and very important for anyone wanting to become financially literate and out of the “Rat Race”

This is a financial bible. Not simply a money book, but guidelines for life and how to approach it. Thank you Robert for sharing your knowledge, and awakening the financial genius within me.

This book is pure gold. This book is pure gold. So many gems inside that can unleash streams of income as well as understanding how money works. Highly recommend to everybody.

Opens the mind. This book really opened my mind look at money in a different way than I have ever been taught. It also showed where I made mistakes in my past by not taking action and saying I don’t have the money. I will have my two daughters read this so maybe they won’t make the same mistakes I made. I’m not one that likes to read but the way this is written grabs you and doesn’t let go. Thanks for writing the book and the lessons learned. Time to take action.

Great book!. Such a great book, and very well written. If you are interested in leaving the “rat race” of a 9-5 then this is the book for you.

Terroble. Can't get past page 35

Excellent. Excellent book!

Eye opener. Brilliant read; wish I had read this in my twenty’s. Started a change in my life already.

Fantastic. Bought this alongside my investment beginnings and having always wanted to enter real estate. It outlines simple principles and offers an actual step by step guide in later chapters 10/10. Finished and immediately bought the next in series

Eye opening. I’ve seen this book recommended for me for years and finally decided to see what the hype is about. I personally loved it. If it does nothing else for you, it will help start you on your quest to build your financial IQ.

Thank you Robert!. This is a mind opening book, incredible.

Great book. Inspired me to build up my financial IQ

Life Changing. I first read this book when I was 16 years old. It challenged and changed my mindset around personal finance. The comparison between his two “dads” provides a great contrast of what most people are taught and what we should have been taught. Well worth reading! I would recommend this to friends and family above 16 years old (this age simply to have context of money).

Trust. How can one trust this guy when he is broke after he wrote this book. I read this book years ago not very good advise.

Thanks Robert. Your book has helped awaken my mind 👍 Awesome read time to further the financial I.q before putting some dollars forward for investment

Finished in 2 days. Good start to learn how to build personal wealth.

Amazing. 10/10

MLM Manifesto. If you ever get recommended this book by a "successful business person" who wants to "mentor" you, stay far away. Very far away.

Great read. Easy read with lots of information and helpful life hints. Thoroughly enjoyed reading the book and eager to build my financial intelligence foundation

Amazing book. Thank you ! I loved the book and especially the study questions !

Just ok.. Overall ok. Felt like he always trying to sell me something. Also talks to much about real estates , and its not a thing for me.

RECOMMENDED. Everyone should read this. Don't be arrogant.

me, July 14 2022. In sum, assets make money. Knowledge is the key.
