Tepid. I was half way through this ready to delete it off my library. I was bored out of my mind. I never really felt the connection between these two. And there’s pages and pages of irrelevant dialogue between siblings who just all show up at Cross’ house on the day he has a date to berate him about his clothes and his sister’s decision to adopt. Just absolutely irrelevant! I don’t know how this book got such high ratings because it is truly lackluster. I read through to the last page. Now I’m going to delete it! Ugh!! Props for the cover photo though. I liked that more than this story! Star goes to the photographer, models and makeup!

Forever only once. Carrie Ann Ryan is the Queen of spinoffs that keep on giving. It started with Montgomery Ink, Then we moved on to the Montgomery cousins of Colorado Springs, Then it was the Montgomery cousins of Boulder. From that we get the Promise Me series, all about Arden's brothers (Wrapped In Ink). I have been (not so) patiently waiting for this series from the moment they were introduced helping Arden at the hospital in her and Liam's book, before CAR had even announced them as an actual possibility. Let me say this one thing. CAR did not disappoint (not that she ever does). It was worth every single second of waiting. I loved how the girls decided to set each other up and get the blind dates started, I loved how Hazel & Cross actually meet without meaning to. Such a big start to this branch of the series I know that they will only get better and better.

Wonderful start to a new series!. What an emotional start to a new series that will give you all the feels! Nothing makes me more happy than a romance that blossoms to so much more. Hazel’s strength and survival will have you cheering for a HEA with Cross. He makes her want more and she deserve it after what she has been through. What happens next is a journey of finding unexpected love that will melt your heart with the drama and heat level that doesn’t disappoint. I can’t wait for more of this series!

The start of a really great series!. This book is the start of a really great series! I love Hazel and Cross. Cross is growls, bearded and so, so swoony. Hazel is a strong and independent woman with a tragic background. The Montgomery’s are very loosely in the background. There is some suspense in this book. It had me sitting on the edge of my seat. I absolutely love this book and was riveted to every page.

Another great read. Another great Start to a new series from Carrie Ann Ryan ! This was such a great read I love the the chemistry between these two characters Cross and Hazel. All I can say is definitely read this one! I’m excited to see what comes next!!

You always find “the one” when you aren’t looking.... Well fleshed loveable characters drive this angsty romance with a sweet accidental meet cute. Cross doesn’t have dating on his radar, he’s happily busy with his business and looking after his brothers and sister. Hazel hasn’t been lucky with love or even much with life, when her friends talk her into a dating pact she is reluctant but willing. Told through both of their POVs we experience all of their “feels” and sexy times. I loved that a bearded, tatted, artist can fall for a sweet sexy mathematics professor. And really if the characters capture your heart you enjoy the ride so much better. Lovely read.

Didn’t really get going….. I wanted to like the story. Took several several several pages to finally get any action and then it was done. I would have liked if the first hundred pages or so wasn’t about their thoughts of getting a relationship going

Love the story line. I am already loving it and this is not a knock on the book and or author but there are certain moments that kind of run on when it should get to the point. Knowing that most authors are often worried about not having enough pages at the end of the book it is understandable. Quite frankly I am quite impatient and I am probably making it more than it is. This is also my first time reviewing a book but, I still love it and would 100% advise you to read it. Once again it is a great book. Ignore what was previously said. All right I done sounding like an idiot.

Lovied it! Devoured it!. 4.5-stars! Forever Only Once by Carrie Ann Ryan is the first book in her Promise Me series and I loved it. Hazel was so strong and yet vulnerable. She has gone through so much, but is it time to move forward? With strong friends beside her, can she open her heart to love? Cross is the oldest of five siblings. He is their protector and that is his priority. He has no time for relationships. Then he meets Hazel. They feel an instant connection and chemistry, even if they try to deny it. I loved the characters so much and just loved their journey. It was not an easy one, but I devoured it. Forever Only Once by Carrie Ann Ryan is a story about second chances, love, family and suspenseful. Carrie Ann Ryan has quickly become a one-click author to me. Her writing, characters and stories are captivating start to finish. This is a must-read! Happy reading!

Forever only once. A good story line but too much use of profanity and descriptive sex. The events in the story leaves one wanting to read to the end of the book but the use of profanity and descriptive sex is disappointing and a turn off. I will not read the remaining stories in this series.

So Heartfelt. I thoroughly enjoyed this story. It made me laugh and cry all at the same time. My Heart hurt for Hazel and the trauma that she had been through and I was angry with Cross's business partner Chris and the shenanigans that he was pulling. However Hazels friends are a great group of women and Cross's family is just fun as we learned when Arden met Liam. Their "meet cute" was just perfect for tow people who are struggling to trust other outside of their immediate circle. This is a read that I think you will love.

Exciting new series!. A new series with some favorite brothers. Arden’s older brothers will be the stars here and I’m loving it. We start with Cross, the oldest, and his accidental chance “date” with Hazel, the first of her group of friends to go on a blind date set up by her friends. Both of their peoples cancelled and they ended up making the most of it. While both are going through some tough times, there is a connection that they try to build on. Hazel has a brutal past that she’s trying to move forward from and trusting is hard for her. But she lets her guard down little by little with Cross. He’s going through some issues with his business and his partner, but he just can’t get Hazel off his mind. When the world comes crashing down on both of them, will they be able to make it through together? I loved their story, Hazel’s strength, and the way Cross cared so much for her. I can’t wait to read more in this series!!

Amazing start to a new series. Hazel and Cross were everything I needed in this new series!!! I had completely forgotten that this series was going to be about the Brady men, but once I figured it out I was so excited!!! I got more of Arden, and who doesn't love Arden??? And of course we got Liam and the rest of the Brady men, a girl can't ask for much more! Hazel is so special, I love how strong she had become!!! I LOVE that she has such a close knit group of friends too! Piper checking in on her was the sweetest and totally reminded me of my friends. And then the "meet cute" between her and Cross.... I GOT STARRY EYES!!! This was THE BEST! I loved the instant attraction and instant ease between them. And Cross, oh cross, he's so dreamy! I loved how the girls joked about the bearded men who were attractive and Cross appeared out of thin air! This man is spectacular. I love that he's he oldest and his turn first of the guys. But also, he deserves it just as much as Hazel. These two were going through a lot personally throughout this book and it added the perfect amount of drama. The actual drama in this book was INTENSE, but everything else leading up to it was pretty perfect! Also, I can't not mention Chris Cross, THIS WAS GENIUS!! I laughed hysterically! As a person in the interior design industry, I loved sooo much that Cross is a furniture designer. It is such a rare craft these days and I adored this so much! This whole story was absolutely amazing. There were so many layers and boy was it spicy!!! It had everything I need and love in all of Carrie Ann's books and I'm impatiently waiting for more!

Forever Only Once. Carrie Ann Ryan wrote this first love story based in fear then retribution. I loved that all the characters have their own stories just waiting to be revealed. Great writing and I just loved Cross and Hazel.

Fantastic first book in new spin off series. Book one in new Promise Me series by Carrie Ann Ryan Cross is Arden (married a Montgomery) oldest brother who co owns a bespoke furniture art shop. Hazel moved to boulder and after a very traumatic divorce that left her with a lot of baggage but she makes a pack with her friends that she starts to date and in the bargain starts to live her life and be happy. Hazel gets set up for a blind date and waits to meet him in a bar. Cross is ask by his co owner to meet a client about a commission but is only given a name and brief description. When Cross get to bar and assumes that Hazel is the client. I absolutely love the way they meet in beginning of book and how hazel and Cross didn’t contact each other straight away because they didn’t want to ruin a great non date. Carrie Ann Ryan pulls it out of the bag every time but she also has a great ear and pucks perfect narrators for her books. I do live duel narration between a female and male voice but instead of read chapters at a time it would be lovely if the read to corresponding line to there gender but still beautifully read.

Fabulous new series, seriously love the Brady brothers. This is the start of a fabulous new series featuring the Brady brothers, whose little sister married a Montgomery and so we get to spend more time with the extended family - yeah!! Cross Brady is a broody, yet sensitive, bearded hunk. Hazel has had a difficult past, but has made some great friends, and now they have a pact to help each other find mean they deserve! One blind date gets all mixed up... but Hazel meets someone that just might get past her fears after all. This is a fabulous new series and I can’t wait for stories for the rest of the Brady clan. Fabulous. Just loved Cross and Hazels journey. Finding each other by accident. A corrupt partner, an abusive husband makes great reading. A must read.

Not that good. I was surprised this received so many good ratings, I did not think it was that good a book. The thoughts didn’t seem real, while there were no noticeable errors (though I skim read most of it) it was clunky and lacked a flow. ‘Maybe I was seeing too much into things’ or ‘I was projecting’ were written so many times, it was irritating. Quite often I couldn’t work out who was speaking as it wasn’t clear, it felt like a rookie mistake, not from a revered author.

Hazel and Cross. A great start to a new series. We have met Cross and his siblings before so it was great to revisit them. Hazel and her friends are a great group and their pact to find each other dates can only lead to some hilarious hook ups. Hazel has some serious issues to overcome and Cross is just the man to make her feel safe. This book takes us on an emotional journey and I can't wait to see what happens with Brady brothers.

Another Fantastic Book!!. Another fantastic book by the fabulous author !! Both Cross and Hazel aren’t looking for an relationship but universe says otherwise!!! Hazel is in a pact with her friends to find there other half. Cross is struggling with his friend Chris, his partner in Chris Cross Furniture. I laughed, cried and swooned I this book.
