For the Win by Kelly Jamieson Book Summary

Can a hockey hunk teach a yoga instructor to be more flexible? “Kelly Jamieson is an auto-buy for me.”—New York Times bestselling author Carly Phillips

Harrison Wynn
Even though I’m the oldest player on the farm team, I’m playing my heart out this year to prove that I have what it takes to compete in the NHL.
Everyone expects me to live up to my dying hockey hero dad’s legacy, but my chances are receding every season.
What I need is to focus, but the team’s new yoga instructor is a major distraction; I’ve had my eye on her from the first time we met.
Except she’s not interested—okay, maybe actively disinterested—since I accidentally dumped her into the ocean during our paddleboard yoga class.
How can I prove to her—and to the NHL—that I’m worth taking a chance on?

Arya Ross
Men are the last thing I need in my life.
Yoga is my priority; it helps me center myself and heal my soul.
But I can’t turn down the once-in-a-lifetime offer to be the personal yoga instructor for the local hockey team.
Sure, there are some cute players—including Harrison Wynn, who seemingly won’t take no for an answer, and whose boyish smile and sexy charm are hard to resist.
He seems genuine, and I wonder . . .
Can I put my past behind me to start a future with him?

Meant to be!. Another enjoyable read by Kelly Jamieson. The dynamics in the Wynn family make for interesting reading, that’s for sure. Harrison’s issues are a little more complex that it seems. With all of the things going on in the family and professionally, it was the wrong time to start a relationship (especially with someone who is reluctant). But, sometimes, things are meant to be. Arya had good reason to to be leery of someone coming on a little too strong. In the end, they were perfect for each other, a balancing the others strengths and weaknesses.

Good next book in the series. The 4th book in the series, this is a standalone romance, although people from prior books make appearances (this is following the Wynn family after all!) This book follows Harrison, a hockey player (although he's only temporarily in the NHL, covering for injured players. This plays into his slightly low self esteem and his need to prove himself) and Arya, a yoga instructor (who teaches yoga to the hockey team). Harrison is a goof (as he's described multiple times in the book.) I compare him to a golden retriever- sweet, soft and can maybe be tough if the situation warrants it, but rarely does. Definitely not an "alpha" character. Arya has a past that Harrison needs to overcome in order to achieve their HEA. One thing about this book is the author spent a lot of time on details. The songs being played in the yoga class, the yoga poses, the ice cream flavors, the description of the flowers, the hockey plays and it goes on. I don't remember her doing this for the other books in the series. As a result, the book was a little slow. However, I did like the characters, both this couple as well as past couples. It was a good book but ambles a bit. Thanks to NetGalley for the fun read!

A wonderful read!. The legacy of the Wynn family is in hockey. Starting with the patriarch, all of his children and grandchildren, either play hockey, manage a team, or write about it. Harrison is no exception. He has been farmed out from the minors to play in the NHL again. This time, he wants to shine for the coach, so he’s not traded back. Lately his father has been forgetting people’s names, making strange decisions. Unfortunately, after going to the doctor, he was diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer’s. This makes Harrison more determined to prove to his father that he has it in him to succeed in the NHL. When the team hires a sexy yoga instructor to help the team to heal quicker with injuries and to also prevent them, Harrison is onboard. He’s had his eye out for Arya Ross since he dunked her in the ocean by mistake. Arya’s past has been helped by yoga. Now she owns her own studio and recently got an offer to do a once a week class for the local NHL team. She’s not ready for dating yet, but a sexy hockey player keeps asking her out, and maybe, just maybe, she’ll agree to go on a date with him. Is it possible that Arya can move forth and let Harrison into her life? Like anything that Kelly Jamieson writes, this book is no different. Another hit! I received a copy of this arc in exchange for an honest review.

I need a family tree for reference.. Absolutely love this series! Full of family love & drama that comes with a family with this many branches on the tree. Before reading any of the books I find myself needing to map out the family tree for reference! There are so many family members with different jobs, teams and marriages that I need something to reference.

Love for another Wynn Novel. Kelly Jamieson has a way of telling a story that makes you fall in love with the unlikely character. She takes what could be a very one-dimensional character and makes them so much more. The Wynn family is full of strong and diverse characters. I was so in love with Theo’s story I wasn’t sure that I would fall in love with Harrison. Harrison seems just to be skating by on his name and his talent. The oldest player on the farm team for the Condors, the NHL team his dad owns, he told by his coached he isn’t giving a 100% to hockey. Harrison has been called up to play for the Condors for the rest of the season and playoffs he has a chance to show he belongs on the team. When Harrison meets Ayra he just knows she is his everything. Harrison has a heart like non other. He loves big. He himself suffers from self-doubt and trusting in his own abilities on and off the ice. Using the same intensity, he is going after his dream of a place on the Condors he peruses Ayra. Ayra a victim of trauma has spent years relearning to trust herself and her heart after a relationship goes very bad. So, when Ayra is pursued by this big hockey player she isn’t sure what to do. She is attracted to him, but self-doubt makes it hard for her to allow Harrison a chance. Ayra’s self-doubt can be paralyzing and seem impossible to know who you can trust. From Yoga farts to bowling there isn’t a moment in this story that you are not rooting for Harrison and Ayra. Every interaction in this books has you rooting for Ayra and Harrison. Harrison’s layers of passion, self-doubt, his love and kindness you fall in love with him and join team Harrison. Ayra’s past hurt makes you wish for her to trust her heart and let Harrison’s love find a way in. Another amazing story by Kelly Jamieson. Kelly gives you the man you need in that moment. The reminder that love isn’t always easy. That even if you feel it from the first moment it may take your partner a moment to trust themselves and feel it too

Insta-must Read!. Great love stories have one thing in common: the author’s exquisite ability at storytelling. “FOR THE WIN” transforms from a simple love story to one that enraptures readers with it’s emotion, conviction, and vitality. Beautifully written this book is a insta-must read, and one you won’t be able to put down. This is Harrison Wynn “Harry” and Arya Ross’s story. And what a story it is. Harry falls in love at first sight with the beautiful yoga instructor, and Arya falls for him too, when the handsome hockey player/yoga student accidentally dumps her into the ocean during her paddle board yoga class. Harry is struggling, trying to prove he has what it takes to be in the NHL. Trying to live up to his hockey hero father. He wants to make his father proud. He wants to have it all. And he wants it all with Arya. These two sizzle with their scorching-hot, mind scrambling kisses and sizzling chemistry. Arya, is charmed by the sexy, irresistible Harry but she keeps pulling back, reluctant and secretly worried about all of his attention due to something in her past. But with Harry’s love and his intensity to win her over. Will she give in and trust Harry with her secret and her self doubt? Will she be able to put her past behind her, for a future with Harry? But this story is so much more than a love story. It is the continued story about the Wynn Family, and their struggle as a large dysfunctional, but caring family, as they deal with the recent devastating diagnosis of patriarch Bob Wynn. Heartwarming and touching as progress is made towards family reconciliation, as understanding, love and compassion unite them. So anxious to see what the next book in this series holds.

For the Win was definitely a winning read.. I love Kelly Jamieson's writing, and I've come to expect a lot from her books—I expect them to make me feel good, to make me smile and laugh, to tug at the heart a little, to show interesting family and friend dynamics, and, of course, to make my temperature rise. This book does all of that, and it does it so, so well. Harrison and Arya are an absolute delight. They just seem to work together, and I love how everything feels easy and lighthearted while still have a vein of depth that adds to the overall tension of the book. Between Harrison's family woes and Arya's troubling past, they have their own hurdles to overcome, and yet they do it in a way that means it's impossible not to root for them. For the Win is another exceptional(ly swoony) installment in the Wynn Hockey series, and I'm excited for Jackson's book next!

Entertaining. I enjoy Kelly Jamieson’s style of writing, her characters are strong and yet she shows that they can be human and not the “perfect” hero or heroine and this makes for a realistic and enjoyable read. For The Win is the fourth in the latest series, Wynn Hockey and is Harrison Wynn and Arya Ross’s story, who we first met in Win Big and I really enjoyed it. Harrison is desperate to prove he has what it takes to make it in the NHL. He lives to play hockey although he needs to be more focused and that’s where Arya comes in. However Arya has been burnt in the past and she doesn’t want to open herself up to heartache. The family dynamics of the Wynn family is convoluted and my head spinning at times. However you know that they love one another and will protect and have one another’s back at all times. The chemistry between Harrison and Arya sizzles and as the intensity grows you could feel the heat. I loved Harrison, he is totally swoon worthy, he made me laugh and smile. A well written romance which gave me chills (in a good way).

Loved It. This author sure knows how to tell a romance set amongst hot hockey players in fact I would have to say she is amongst the best in this field and For the Win book 4 in the Wynn Hockey Series was everything I have come to expect and so much more. We first met Harrison and Arya Ross in Win Big and I was excited to see how their story panned out, the chemistry was sizzling in that book but in this one it’s off the charts !!! Harrison Wynn is everything you want to love in a man, he’s hot, he’s funny and goofy but most of all he is sweet and open to trying anything that’s asked of him but there’s a lot going on in his life and maybe it’s the wrong time to start a relationship but we don’t always have control over our feelings and our heart often rules our head..... A couple with many hurdles to cross before they find their HEA will their journey make or break them. The Wynn family is complicated but nothing will break the loyalty and love this family share and that’s one of the reasons I love this series so much, this book also deals with real life issues that although sometimes hard to read about we can relate to them and that’s makes this story a bit more real. I was touched on so many levels by Arya and Harrison story and it’s certainly a book I highly recommend to all Hockey lovers as well as all romance lovers.

Great addition to the Wynn series. Loved this addition to the Wynn series. Author Kelly Jamieson has written another great & very emotional story, dealing with life issues no one should ever have to go through. Harrison is a big loveable guy & I love the fact that he fell in love with Arya at first sight. Arya is a beautiful, strong, brave woman who’s started her life over after a horrible attack. The chemistry is instant, sexy & sweet. Their journey rough at times but worth it. Definitely recommend this book.

For the Win. I love this hockey family. No families are not perfect and the author tackles the whole blended mess that is the “Wynn’s”. Harrison seems much younger than his siblings but his story is so engaging, like the rest. Harrison is an identical twin to Asher. If you have read the series you know the family dynamics. This shows how they affect each child differently. Arya brings such a calm lightness that Harrison needs at a time when he feels like a failure. Never living up to his Dad’s expectations is his fear. As his Dad battles Alzheimer’s Harrison has to face many insecurities and the blended family, struggling to even acknowledge each other ~comes together for the sake of the Dad. Harrison and Arya have hot, funny chemistry and the book really connects with overcoming what you “think” is your failure when all along your Dad never felt anything but love for you, as his child. It was a great read. Cannot wait for the rest...spaced more closely together would be great!!! Asher or Jackson next?? Yes please! 😎

5 Wynning Stars!. Ms Jamieson’s books are always funny, flirty, and steamy ... but I found myself crying In this book. My mother had Alzheimers and the way that Bob Wynn acted really hit close to home ... so I found this book to be very emotional. Ok ... enough of that! Arya was such a breath of fresh air! Even though she had a horrific experience, she came through the other side and braver for it. Harrison was such a goof ball, but he said right from the start that Arya was his future wife. This has been a great series! I really like that Ms Jamieson explains the Wynn family tree at the beginning of each book ... because normally a person can forget who’s who between books in a series and this brings all the characters into focus quickly. I received an early copy courtesy of Random House-Loveswept through NetGalley in exchange for a honest review.

3.75stars-colorful and energetic characters. 3.75 stars--FOR THE WIN is the fourth instalment in Kelly Jamieson’s contemporary, adult WYNN HOCKEY erotic, romance series focusing on the Wynn family. This is twenty-six year olds, NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross’ story line. FOR THE WIN can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the previous instalments is revealed where necessary but I recommend reading the series in order for back story and history. Told from dual first person perspectives (Harrison and Arya) FOR THE WIN follows two paths including the building romance and relationship between NHL hockey player Harrison Wynn, and yoga instructor Arya Ross, and the illness that is slowly robbing the family patriarch of his mind. Arya Ross moved to California to get away from her past. As a yoga instructor Arya is able to relax and start a new life but meeting hockey player Harrison Wynn forces Arya to look beyond the past, and into a possible future but Harrison is completely unaware of the ghosts that haunt our story line heroine, ghosts about which Arya refuses to talk. As their relationship begins to bloom, Harrison finds himself making one mistake after another, mistakes about which he, once again, is completely unaware. What ensues is the building romance and relationship between Arya and Harrison, and the fall out as Arya pushes Harrison out of her life. Meanwhile, former star hockey player, and team owner Bob Wynn is battling a daily struggle with a debilitating disease. Although his wife Chelsea has kept secret many of the smaller issues, questionable financial transactions and missing money are tearing the family apart. With the truth come questions, questions that no one is able to answer. The relationship between Arya and Harrison is one of immediate attraction but Harrison and his friends push Arya out of her comfort zone. Arya is hired as the new yoga instructor for the NHL’s California Condors, a position that places Arya in the direct line of fire for Harrison’s advances and growing love but Arya continues to struggle with demons from the past, and in this, their lack of communication set the couple up to fail. The $ex scenes are intimate and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text. There is a large ensemble cast of colorful secondary and supporting characters including the large extended and slightly dysfunctional Wynn family: patriarch Bob Wynn and his wife Chelsea; GM of the Condors Theo Wynn; Theo’s brother and hockey player for the Long Beach Golden Eagles JP Wynn, as well as numerous brothers and nephews including Matthew and Mark Wynn from Bob’s first marriage: Mark’s son Jackson; Harrison’s twin brother Asher, Noah and their sister Everly. We are introduced to Arya’s roommate Taj, and his boyfriend Ziggy, as well as the introduction of several members of the California Condors. FOR THE WIN is a story of family, friendships, secrets and struggle; of one woman’s battle with the demons from her past, and the lack of communication that threatens the growing love between our leading couple, and in this I struggled with Harrison’s acceptance of blame when, in fact, he had no idea of what happened or why, or how the simplest gestures set off our story line heroine. The premise is engaging and entertaining; the characters are colorful and energetic; the romance struggles in the face of secrets and Arya’s inability to reveal the truth,
