THE NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER
ONE OF THE NEW YORK TIMES BEST THRILLERS OF THE YEAR
“I loved this book. It gave me the same waves of happiness I get from curling up with a classic Christie...The alternating points of view keep you guessing, and guessing wrong.” — Alex Michaelides, #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Silent Patient
"Evok[es] the great Agatha Christie classics…Pay close attention to seemingly throwaway details about the characters’ pasts. They are all clues.” -- New York Times Book Review
A wedding celebration turns dark and deadly in this deliciously wicked and atmospheric thriller reminiscent of Agatha Christie from the New York Times bestselling author of The Hunting Party.
The bride – The plus one – The best man – The wedding planner – The bridesmaid – The body
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine, or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.
But perfection is for plans, and people are all too human. As the champagne is popped and the festivities begin, resentments and petty jealousies begin to mingle with the reminiscences and well wishes. The groomsmen begin the drinking game from their school days. The bridesmaid not-so-accidentally ruins her dress. The bride’s oldest (male) friend gives an uncomfortably caring toast.
And then someone turns up dead. Who didn’t wish the happy couple well? And perhaps more important, why?

Quick read. Liked that chapters were told from different characters perspective. Good character development. Fast paced and an easy read, but the plot was very predictable.
A waste really. Wouldn’t suggest it , the story is so boring until you get to page 217 , I kept reading , to finish it because I had already stared it . Then when your really into it , it finishes! I hated the ending because so much was unfinished , that they could have put in . Idk
Easy read, twists I didn’t see coming!. The Guest List was a quick, easy read with twists that each left me gasping aloud.
Amazing. From the story line and characters to how well Lucy is able to describe a scene so well with words - its a 100/10. I never saw the twists coming. I loved every second of this book.
Boring book.. Honestly can’t see how this book could be a best seller.
Held my breath during the whole thing. The Guest List was a book that reintroduced reading for me. It’s the first book I’ve read in 2 years and what an amazing choice. I’ve never read such a book with as much exciting anxiety and nervousness for what was to come page to page. I found myself skimming the following words ahead because I couldn’t read fast enough! Amazing book. Will be telling my friends all about this one!
Good read. Well-written, good plot, continuously keeps you guessing!
Binged read. Read this book in a matter of days. Fast paced and well narrated, with a twist at the end. Opinions of characters certainly change the more you read!
Worth the wait. I’m not going to lie, the climb to the climax is a long journey. However by the end of the novel, I appreciate Lucy’s ability to lay the foundation. She sneaks in small clues and hints throughout the story. These clues may seem minuscule in the beginning, however they are key elements to the story. By the end you are mind blown…You will be in awe of how Lucy was able to entangle so many messy lives into one great story.
The guest list. Loved it!!! I was bummed how it ended only because i want more story!
An enticing read. Interesting and creepy with beautiful descriptions of wild story backdrop.
Yawner. Good twist, but not the page turner that The NY Times claims it to be. It was quite boring at times.
Entertaining enough. Just starts kind of slow, characters are a bit too intertwined. Kept my interest but could get confusing with so much back and forth. Twist at end was far fetched.
So worth it!. Sooooo good! I couldn’t put it down!
The Guest List. Engrossing psychological thriller but at the same time, a fun “ beach read”. Stayed up late into the night to finish.
Loved it!. Keeps you guessing right to the end!!!
Slow burn, but good!. It has a slower start, but nonetheless still a great book. If you like action packed throughout, this won’t be the book for you. It’s more about storyline and tying all of the pieces together in the end. Her descriptive writing is phenomenal. She does an excellent job of putting you in an isolated Irish setting.
Pretty good. It was a little slow but it really helped getting to know the characters I like what happened in the end shocked too, didn’t so much like how it ended kind of fast, would’ve liked to know more about what happens next
Mixed. If I hadn’t been so lost for the first 2/3rd’s of the book I would have like it better. Premise was good, but it took way too long to get to the point of it all. When it did, it was over. Felt like there was more to be said.
Could be better. Dragged on forever
Long & drawn out, until the very end . .. Where to start? Each chapter is devoted to one of the main characters, and the chapters bounce back and forth in time for each character, depending upon the time frame the author writes about. I thought the book would have been better if it was written in chronological order . . until the very end, when everything came together. But what a chore to read to the end.
Slow, but good.. I could give this book 4 stars because of how everything tied together in the end. But the beginning and middle were so slow, it justifies only giving 3 stars.
Worth the Read. This book was very slow in the beginning but the ending made the book worth reading after all.
Could not put this down. It’s rare that an ending surprises me, but this one did. I loved all the characters in this story.
Very twisty whodunit. Didn’t see it coming…..
Must-read!. Great book—unexpected ending!!
Good read!. Good read with good surprises! Kept me interested from start to finish.
Too far fetched. This book took a long time to get moving and gain my interest.. and then when it did the narrative constantly switched from one character to the next and was confusing to follow.. The end was filled with way to many different plots and became very far fetched . Not a big fan..
Good read. Even though I guessed what’s going on early in the book, I still enjoyed it.
Overhyped. The premise of the story was interesting, but I left feeling letdown.
Had my attention the whole way to the end. Great writing
Too much back & forth. All the back & forth teasing became annoying & took away from enjoying the book
Fantastic dive into the dark side. Suspense and a sharp examination of the dark side of the privileged elite. Love the well-executed changing perspectives and time sequence which gave The Guest List a three dimensional swirl. Highly recommended.
Very good!. Super easy thriller! Lots of characters and well written from their perspectives!!!!
Easy listen with some nice but slightly predictable twists. I enjoyed this book as a simple “who did it” book. The voices change in narrators was enjoyable, though the female narrators putting on the male public school boy voices was slightly irritating an stupid for me. I didn’t enjoy this book as much as “the hunting party” by Lucy Foley which was fantastic. This seemed to have a far more predictable and less complex story line.
Twisty. Many twists you can’t see them all coming
Good reading, annoying at times. Excellent characters. Easy to Follow, but it gets cumbersome, all the jumping back and forth- until the very end when it all comes together. However, I almost put it down bc of all the jumping around from perspective to perspective. Very well planned twists and turns
Couldn’t put it down!. Loved the story and the twists and turns! Great book…couldn’t put it down
Don’t read it.. Terribly boring book. I had to force myself to finish it. Of course this is just my opinion, but I would advise against purchasing this book.
Loved it. A bit slow at first but gradually picks up and doesn’t stop until the end.
Slow burn. Was not expecting to enjoy this book as much as I did
Best book I’ve read in a long time. Very detailed and descriptive! The way the author builds elaborate characters is amazing. If you are on the fence about buying this book, just do it. I didn’t regret it at all and might even read it a 2nd time.
Slow starter. It took a while for this one to really take off but once it finally did, I didn’t want to put the book down.
Holy awful. I ... hated this book. I don't think I've ever disliked a book more. It was slow and painful and the only reason I finished was because I paid money for it. Please do yourself a favor and do not think about starting this!
Very interesting format. Mysterious, well-written, deep without being overwhelming. Loved it.
Loved it. The greatest kind of mystery and the greatest type of villain. Won’t guess until the end. Brilliant writing.
A great mystery. So many twists and turns! Ignited a love for murder mysteries and thrillers!!!
Brilliant story!!. Awesome story. I loved the twist and turns. The stories within the stories. I especially loved how the author would go back in time and share each guests point of view. I wouldn’t have guessed the outcome and how everything was interwoven with each other. Bravo…I want more.
Thriller until the end. Love this great vacation or beach read. Love how each chapter goes from the point of view from each character. I kept switching who I thought “did it”. However that end was just awful. Very dry and I would love to hear how the rest of the characters coped and their aftermath.
Perfect escapist read to take your mind off the madness.. A deliciously, fun and captivating read! I devoured it in just a couple of days and am looking for more! Looking forward to reading more by this author.

Must check that list twice. Very good, quick and to the point! Reminder to self guest list require lots of deep thinking!1
The Guest List. ‘The Guest List’ shouldn’t work because the idea of a murder at a wedding is not a new concept to fiction. but Lisa Foley revitalizes it, breathing life into it by working it at both ends before it combusts into a melodramatic spectacle of nail-biting proportions. she forges a story where everyone reveals themselves to be a sinister villain in one way or the other, giving them as much a reason to be the victim as the culprit. it is an energetic burst of tension that never lets up, catching you unawares even as it begs you to pay attention.
Mrs.. I did not expect it to be such a crap.
Disappointed. Utter dullness... painful read
Amazing read. The guest list only gives you tiny pieces of the puzzle at a time, and keeps you on your toes wanting more.
Guest List. Absolutely brilliant! It would make a good movie series!
Waste. It was very hard for me to actually finish this book. I would only give it a 1/2 star if I could. Very disappointed as it seemed to have very good reviews.
It was... ok?. Not a huge fan of this book. Kind of predictable I’d say. Reminded me of the type of stories I read when I was in high school (which is more than 15 years ago).
