Dances Away With My Mind. Susan Elizabeth Phillips just gets better and better. This stand alone piece has wonderful small-town characters, a well developed hero and heroine, and supporting antagonists that have their own stories, but do not distract from the plot one bit. If the characters ever have to travel, no worries, they all have plenty of baggage, but the way SEP unpacks this story makes the journey really worthwhile. I read this twice.

It includes phenomenal writing, multi-dimensional characters and a story to invest your emotions and time in reading. This story includes a street artist learning to let go of his anger, a widow learning to live with her grief and learning to live and love again. And a small town learning to encompass change. Overly dramatic? I will admit to shedding some tears in a couple of the emotional scenes. A story of family, renewal, and accepting change. I loved it. It is darker than the usual by this author. I won an early copy of this book from the publisher through a reader conference. 4.5 rounded up.

Dance Away With Me. I have loved all of Susan’s books, but this one was very different than what I was used to. It was well written but I couldn’t identify with the characters or the setting, and her great humor was missing.

Dance Away With Me. Susan Elizabeth Philips has done it again...Dance Away with Me was an engaging read from beginning to end. The characters were believably imperfect and written with a sense of humor. I enjoyed every page.

Loved this book.. I fell in love with the characters in this book. And the beautiful countryside.

A beautiful story. I love SEP, but this one made be so happy. It is worth the read.

Not like her other works. Tries to do too much. I have been a fan of SEP for years and have read all her books. I prepay for most of her ebooks and count down the days until they download. I even took PTO so I could spend all day reading. I won’t be doing that again if this is her new direction. This book was exhausting. It’s like her publisher said: here are all the hot agenda topics going on in the world today, make sure you include them all here. In a tiny TN town you will find the characters paragons of social justices on: child abuse, adoption, gender equality, sexual education in schools, teen sex, miscarriage awareness, depression, environmental consciousness, body image issues, grief, I could go on. These are all topics worthy of discussion, but to have them all crammed in the book was ludicrous and poorly handled. The two main characters navigate all these issues so flawlessly that it’s the least believable book she’s written (and she is known for very quirky characters so that’s saying something). If you’ve read her before, try to get a preview or read a few more reviews before you purchase. If you haven’t, pick one of her previous works. They are fun, quirky and great to get lost in.

The worst SEP book I’ve read.. No sane woman would act like she does in this book and for a man to still want to be with her.

Entertaining. A good read. Susan is an eloquent writer. Not as much silly banter as her other books but I was entertained until the end. Sure wish she wouldn’t wait so long to write a new book.

Love it!. I always love Susan Elizabeth Phillips’ books. I found myself laughing and then crying. It hit all the notes. The details of the characters are amazing. This story will warm your heart.

Not my favorite. It was just a little too preachy. I felt sorry for one of the side characters. Brad. How is a man supposed to know how his woman feels if she won’t open her mouth and tell him. Susan Elizabeth Phillips is an automatic buy for me.I do recommend it because I love her writing. But I am over man bashing. It takes two.

Another gut-check love story!. The heartache of Dream a Little Dream, the laughter of Lady Be Good... I couldn’t put it down. SEP has not lost her touch!

Disappointing. I’m a fan of SEP but I found this book disappointing and I couldn’t engage at all with the relationship between Ian & Tess. At $27.99 to buy, to me this was an expensive book that didn’t meet expectations.

I liked it. It is nice to read a story where the characters have depth and flaws. They make mistakes along the way, like we all do. I found it an interesting book, reading it quickly and thinking about it a lot. Well worth the read.
